☆When did you first appear onscreen?

I first appeared ‘onscreen’ when Cascada attempted to commandeer the Bellagio Fountains. No way was I letting her mess with my fountains. No way was I letting her prevent others from being able to join them. Shandi rescued the civilians while I took her head on.

☆What do you tell people about how you got your powers?

I’ve had them forever.

☆Who, outside of the team, supports your burgeoning star in every way possible?


Viola Engels is amazing. One of the few rich people I can stand. It helps that you can barely tell except where it actually matters. Her family is new money so they’re not stuck up like you’d expect. And she even works! At her mother’s news network, but still. She goes to a lot of parties and sometime brings me along. I’ve even gotten to be the entertainment a few times.

She was there for my fight with Cascada. She even caught it on film. She’s also one of the reasons I’m such a big star now. She works the teenage superhero beat.

Viola is also one of the only people who knows that I’m Madame Vegas. We never talk about that though. It’s nice that just being Verity is enough for her.


☆Who, outside of the team, loathes what you represent?

No one. I mean, I’m sure there are some people who are jealous or whatever, but I get along with everyone.

(In actuality, Verity is opposed absolutely by Nebula, a somewhat more experienced teen villain Verity has thwarted by happy accident several times. She doesn't consider Verity a nemesis, as she doesn't respect her, and her powers are generally associated with changing the state of matter, including turning herself into vapor; she works in subtle ways, and Verity is likely unaware she's run afoul of her.


☆Why do you care about the team?

We’re a team. We have each other’s backs. I make them look good and they make me look good. Besides, the audience loves it.
