  1. Patronized by the passing entity and disregarded by the Baroness for his ambiguity, he fell to silence. A glare locked upon the Drakanite, digressed to another personage whom growled at him: A Feral Ookami. This was a collective of people that were no different than Danarium, than Frostvale... Than the rest...
  2.
  3. "They're all the same.." He mumbled to himself, turning for a departure...
  4. A departure that'd lead him traveling south, pondering on alternative to other parties. The trek grew lonesome and thoughts fluttered about, to the movement he aimed to manifest-- An act that felt less plausible by the day.
  5.
  6. Despite his determination, nothing shifted to his favor; the foundation of Valmasia was simply something he hadn't a chance to stand against. With travels parting him from the Sarab Desert and cloaking him within the housing shroud of darkness blessed unto him by the Trystle caverns, Exovaryn could finally feel safe. Secured against the world that was Eternia, and strengthened by the element weilded to his volition.
  7.
  8. Here, he could let his frustrations fester in pseudo-solace... Until, the flux of depravity tipped off his attention. Another entity was passing through, far more potent than himself. Eyes peered into the darkness he wandered within so callously prior to find the silhuoettes of several entities earning his attention. Discomfort churned at even a fellow Depraved magi's gut, but fear did not surmount within his person, choosing to stand his ground to the arrival.
  9.
  10. The alabaster material captured his attention first, rather than the undead that accompanied him, and with eyes trailing up for the head, the Harukean could only idle for an introduction for proper identification.
  11.
  12. "...I haven't known many with such power held back in some time..."
  13. (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
  14.
  15. It was wonderful. The feeling of bliss only peeling away once he heard the voice, a youthful one which summoned the Malpercian's attention away from his feeding. Lavender eyes would turn under the helmet, staring dierctly at the figure dawned in black. There were a few blinks given in that dierction, and suddenly an occultic aura would fill the area around him.
  16.
  17. "This is an odd re-union. Honestly, didn't expect more occultists to be within these caves at the time being. Would have worn my other set of clothing. Tell me, have you gotten any more steps towards becoming a master occultist like you had wished?"
  18.
  19. Curious questions, but they sounded odd.. The Malpercian did not have a single voice speaking now, instead it being a legion of them who spoke at the same time. Better control shown over that catalyst of will that only would happen when manifesting his dark auras.
  20.
  21. And then he floated. The occultist dawned in white clothing floated up, taking a seat in mid air as they stared at the fellow occultist, wondering how they would respond.
  22. (Savant Malpercius)
  23.
  24. After his strange encounter with the double cloaked man, he went into the northern town. Not finding any of his friends there, he left the town and went off to explore more of the land he's on. Not seeing any of the other members of his pack around, he decides to let them be and go off to someplace else. He had travelled passed the large stone structure south of the desert once before, but that ended badly. Once he had run through the desert and passed the large strucure, he kept running. He made no plans of going to the forest on the other side of the desert, but maybe his friends were there somewhere.
  25.
  26. After hunting a boar for a snack, from running through the desert and needing food and a drink. He makes his way to the cave, still not seeing any of his friends so far and stopped instantly. He sees a familiar figure standing in the cave, one that he had growled at before due to the scent on him. He swiftly runs behind one of the spikes sticking out of the ground to hide from the person.
  27.
  28. As soon as he makes it behind the spike, the feral Ookami child would hear voices. They all spoke at the same time and they were all something he couldn't understand. It bothers his ears when he hears that many speaking at the same time and makes him whine a little. His gauntlet covered claws digging into the small rock spire and into the ground. He is thankful that his friend had put them on him now, he would have hurt his hands if they weren't on.
  29.
  30. He would notice someone else with the man now, someone that didn't seem very nice. Once the voices stopped, he looks at the other man seeing him in a differently colored cloak than the other. He gets the feeling that's where the voices came from and hopes that they aren't going to try and fight in the cave. The place could collapse on all of them leaving the buried under tons of rocks, but that's the danger the child must live with now. Hoping the two hadn't noticed him yet, he remains behind the rock on all fours watching them from a distance.
  31. (Alinga)
  32.
  33. There was definitely something different about the Malpercian before him, far more potent than the rest. He was an anamoly, and far beyond his own capability. The multitude of vocalizations turned his head for the blank void of the darkness encompassing him, finding naught aside from the Undead within the Occultist's company. Was it a trick? No, it was far more practiced, if not developed than that.
  34.
  35. The stygian artistry entwined with the Depraved arts empowered the very essence radiant from Savant, drawing Exovaryn akin to a moth to a flame. The closer he got, the more alluring one's power felt albeit the more risk warranted to getting 'burned'. "...Mastery is... Subjective at best." He answered, implying one's failure to obtain such an accomplishment.
  36.
  37. "Besides, I have another goal in mind.." With such said, the proposterious proposition of his previoius antics came to mind.
  38. "What... Is your faith, fellow magi?" He asked without tone intending query, but rather rhetoric. "Do you believe in the works of Kraus?... Of Uray?... Maybe of Azreal..." He went on, "I doubt you delve into the Sirenian faith... What if I told you... It was all false... Wrong... Non-existence... How would you feel about it, Valmasian..."
  39. (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
  40.
  41. The man cloaked in white would float, perhaps a little childishly, wanting to be entertained despite the amount of power that he wieled. His two pale arms could be made out over his cloak, giving no hints as to what he actually was besides an extremely powerful magi. He was, in a word, completely odd, anomally and the like.
  42.
  43. The occultist aura and the profane chorus surrounded the Malpercian as he continued to float in the air, staring at the other occultist. In the mean time, the dead bodies would haul themselves off the ground, give a glance towards the Harukean, and then take a seat behind their summoner, not wanting to get in the way of negocation. "Perhaps.. But as long as one is always adapting, then one is one step closer to making that subjectiveness fact."
  44.
  45. And then the occultist would ask of Savant's faith. "Well, I would be lying to say I do not believe angels exist.. And that I do not claim Azreal my patron. The angel who created necromancy, the art which I find much facination in.. Perhaps he knows of a way to perfect it as well. But to hear it was false?.. It would confuse me greatly. Please, enlighten me as to what you fully mean."
  46. (Savant Malpercius)
  47.
  48. Continuing his watch of the two, he listens closely to them. The words they speak finally starting to make sense to him, even if it's not too many of them. After spending a year around people like them, he's finally understanding what they say. He remains hidden behind the rock though trying to make sense of what is spoken between them. Some words stand out to him, words like 'Magi', 'Azrael' and even 'Kraus'. He remembers hearing these words from people around a strange building as they seemed to preach about it.
  49.
  50. Remaining hidden from their view his ears would bother him once more when the white cloaked person spoke. He isn't used to being around someone with so many voices and he still whines when he speaks. As soon as the man had finished speaking he went back to watching them closely. His attention turned to the dead people with the white cloaked person, he didn't know the dead could still walk. Watching them, he sees that they move just like the living, only under the command of the other man.
  51.
  52. If the two were to fight, the feral Ookami wouldn't know what to do. He doesn'tlike seeing people being severely outnumbered like the man with the familiar scent is right now. At the same time, the scent the man carries is too familiar, in a bad way, that he really doesn't want to help him. He will just remain hiddn behind his rock as only a small part of him could be seen, half of his face, if they had noticed him at all.
  53. (Alinga)
  54.
  55. "Yes." He babbled onward cracking a confident grin, "All of it." He started his approach with a single step forth, keeping a slow pacing as though to discourage any malign urge that could brush off from an magi he hadn't much knowlege of. He hadn't a clue how one felt about another attempting to debunk their religion, and thus he wasn't too hasty to make a brash encroachment just yet.
  56.
  57. "Kraus, Azreal... Ryujin, The Gods of Uray... The Ookami spirit, the angels of the Sirenian... All of it, is false." He claimed, "It's all the rhetoric of men and women everywhere, to explain what they couldn't comprehend. It is all the works of magi of innovation and potence to craft what others can not wrap their comprehension about. It is naught Divine... Simple tricks, anamolies and coincidences operated to their benefit to prove... 'Larger than life'." The Occultist started off...
  58.
  59. "Necromancy?" He asked, with eyes glazing over the Undead that surrounded Savant, "Merely the works of a magi whom found a way to beckon the dead, not an angel aiming to perfect Immortality. One dubbed 'Angel' would probably be a magi whom discovered the trick, and pointed out an entity that did not exist. What evidence have I of this?" He finished with query, as though to tempt the Malpercian into preparing for proper elaboration.
  60.
  61. "The simple fact that there is no remnant of absolute evidence that they remain... That they, Exist. If Kraus was so powerful to have crafted this world... Where is he?" He asked, "Where is Azreal?" He continued, "Where are the Gods of Uray? How could they influence this world if they have no shape? No form... If such entities had ever existed... They are dead." He finished. "How could Immortals whom have practiced and perfected the works of Undeath, of Immortality.. Die? Destroyed? Is it a myth? No, mere fact over fiction. These Gods over Eternia were but figures that came and left akin to the magi of our time, destined to the same fate." He concluded...
  62.
  63. "...But I know of something that isn't false... I know of an entity that exists, and on this very plane of reality as well. Not mere rumor spouted on from mouth to ear. The entities that are of Kraus and Azreal, and their descendents alike- May not exist in their glorified form... But Gods and Goddesses -do- exist... Lyperias governs over all... A Goddess of Fate itself."
  64. (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
  65.
  66. Now this? This was most interesting. The Harukean would take steps towards Savant, talking about how all the gods and angels were false, things only created by man and their beliefs. There was no rage over the man saying that the gods and angels were not truely, only curiousity sparking in his mind. It woud make a lot of sense to most people of the angels were not true, merely having something make them up.
  67.
  68. But Savant? The Malpercian would allow the bottom part of his helmet to drop a little, revealing pale skin and a grin that spread over their face before that legion of voices would once again speak. "You make a lot of sense. Logical. Thats a good thing but most people won't listen to it.. Most people too busy praising what they don't even have proof of existing...
  69.
  70. And indeed, this piques my curiousity. They left nothing to us, no proof of their existance and no messages as to where they might be. It is how you have described, as if they have died or been destroyed... Mostly at least. However, I am slightly differnt from just blind belief.
  71.
  72. I have not seen Azreal. I will not claim I have, or for the sake of arguement, that he even created Necromancy. What I have seen however.. Is one of his champions, a snake who was froze in stone for perhaps over a thousand or so years wake. I know not Azreal's full power, but I know that the champion was some how able to increase my own.. And if a stone snake exists, and even claimed to know Azreal.. It makes my doubts slightly less.
  73.
  74. But please go on. You speak of this.. Lyperia. This one who governs all? Then please enlighten me about them."
  75. (Savant Malpercius)
  76.
  77. Listening intently still, glad that his presence has gone unnoticed as of yet. He doesn't want to interrupt their talk as it seems to intrigue him a little as well. The man with the familiar scent and the other talking about gods and such. When the white cloaked person moved the lower part of their helmet to reveal their mouth, it was odd to th Ookami child. He would whine once more as the man spoke, it seems that he is trying to convince the other of something. Once the man stops talking the child stops whining and then watches them again.
  78.
  79. He wonders why the familiar scented one would get closer, is it some sort of surprise attack or is it something else. The child has many thoughts go through his mind and one of them is if the two will fight or not. If the two do, the familiar scented one would likely lose as he is outnumbered.
  80. (Alinga)
  81.
  82. "Lyperias: One of ageless beauty." He described, "One of true Immortality."
  83. "She is one whom bares knowledge that predates us and harbors powers that excels us. Not even death can restrain her growth and potence." He boasted, "Immune to the common mortality that plagues mankind in all regards." He fell silent when taking such into account.
  84.
  85. "Regener-" The crash of assaulted earth, rotating Voss' sights from the Malpercian, towards the source of the disturbance! A squad of magus from a glimpse of their aura shrouded persons, making their entrance clear. Their identities were unknown, having never met with either Exovaryn nor Savant before, but the Holy essence that engulfed their figures in conjunction to their hostilities defined their purpose.
  86.
  87. "Alright, Occult scoundrels." called out the leading figure, responded to by the sneer of the Harukean. "Going to cut to the chase.." Earth magic quaked at the ground underfoot, and rumbled at the foundation that was the Trystle Caverns... At least within the local area. Voss didn't intend on sticking around to bare witness to the crackling ceiling descent unto him, as threatened by the sheets of pouring dust, sprinting off for the east.
  88.
  89. Bolts of exorcized lightning riveted throughout the atmosphere, forking out to impale the flesh of the Occultist. A single stroke conjured from their masses missed the Harukean's torso, but caught his outstretched leg, clinging to the metallic boot he wore and paralyzing him in the encasing armor, dropping him the ground.
  90.
  91. Fallen, one could only struggle to rise to their feet, efforts futile against the rather casual approach of fate damning Exorcists. The Radicals encroached further, leaving the cackle of lightning to be the last sound Exovaryn would ever hear... Before the thunder of earth beckoned a ceasefire through gravity's hold on the situation. An avalanche of rock plummeted to the Occultist's side, walling betwixt himself and the lethal threat just few yards yonder... Saving him, albeit seperating him from Savant in the process...
  92.
  93. ...It as a neccessary means to part them once more: A twist of fate...
  94. From there, he'd wander further for medical attention- Northbound.
  95. (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
  96.
  97. =================================================================================================================================
  98.
  99. =================================================================================================================================
  100.
  101. She could feel it, the darkness wrapping around her, trying to subdue her. IT was so...Aggravating...The wind blew past the pale Ookami, the snow curls that hung in her face would be blasted back, showing a face Ambrose would know...But it was different. Much different, but the same too. Pale, blue eyes glared deep into the Haruke's own gaze. Her features were delicate, doll like...Perfect. The tiny child remained silent, still, statue like. It not for the billowing curls around her head, she might had been easily passed off as a statue. Not even flinching at the wind’s strong push, or the darkness and depravity that tried to smother her.
  102.
  103. Why SHOULD she. To her? This place was no different from Alteros…
  104.
  105. Glancing at the yokai, a quiet sigh escaped her lips. The tentacles would not keep their hold for long. Blue flames flickered and burst. A bright light dancing across her skin, alive with mana and sheer will power. Pure energy just spinning about the girl’s body. As intense as the girl’s own eyes, that glowed with a slightly deeper blue that her normal eye hue. It was probably the end for little Vivian, but...She didn’t even seem all too worried about it.
  106.
  107. This was how the world worked, was it not?
  108.
  109. A slash of silver, two sharp blades slipping from under her torn sleeves. How did she managed to hide those daggers…? They were a plain set of knives, but sharp and cold in her hands. But everything felt cold. It might have been futile, might have been stupid of her. But she would NOT be eaten without injuring someone. As much as she liked youkai, she liked living more.
  110.
  111. A scream might escape most children, terror and fear. But Vivian was born into a world with no voice and no real chance at life. But against the world’s better judgement, she survived up until now. Why could she not keep on surviving?
  112.
  113. Turning sharply on her heel, she faced the yokai. The fur of her tail on end, her over-sized ears perked and listening for sound. Not once, through the whole exchange of talk, did the little Ookami speak. Her actions were louder than any words she could say.
  114.
  115. But her messages were so unclear...Then again, thats a six year old for you.
  116. (Vivian Ivaylo)
  117.
  118. The sight of the two parties was amusing at most, and her expression reflected that; never had there been such an underdog as the pup was in this moment, and never had there been a goliath as intimidating as the beast was to this girl; but alas, amusement needed to be stroked, and as humorous as the sight was, she needed more. She ran a knowing glance over both of them, giggling to herself, but she stepped past them, heading south, looking for a better place to observe. She was not a spectator, but a perpetrator, but an enabler of this evil.
  119.
  120. She glided past them, heading lower and lower, until she was on the edge of the woods, watching from a safe distance; but even at length, she could be felt, the diabolical extremes that followed her wherever she was or went. The girl and the yokai both would know that she was close, and that she was watching; what could be drawn from this, good or bad, was up to those on the receiving end, for the girl's motivations remained eternally ambiguous. Then, with wide eyes, she watched and waited, anticipating something great to come from the forced circumstance.
  121.
  122. (Ambrose Haruke)
  123.
  124. The scene was interupted by the gags of a third party. Scrambing throughout the wilderness' treeline could beckon attention to the curious. The frantic struggle betwixt two entities clashing beyond visual perception incremented in volume, including cacophony of crunching twigs, shattering bark and stressed tree bases. Ambiguious forces adopted a less subtle transcendence into the brawl at hand, finally revealed to the eyes osculated for the fading silhuoette.
  125.
  126. A tall man weilding an unfortunate traveler equipped in armor by the neck, hanging them by their clutches. The ensnared clawed at the sealed fingers albeit, the sanguine glow illuminating at the clash of their flesh portrayed one's siphoning. Flesh wrinkled, leathered with seconds' passing; A long breath eased from the human's vessel and lifeforce grew troubled no more.
  127.
  128. The chill of Depravity rubbed off on the very forestry surrounding the Occultist, wilting foliage and greenery in his wake. A turn of one's hooded visor signified attention garnered by the congregation upon the rather isolated island.
  129. "I wasn't expecting anything here but Boar and Exorcist scum." He commented, leaving the cadaver to plummet to his feet. A closer look warranted the facade of a shriveled manniquin adorn in classic Neo Exorcist apparel.
  130.
  131. "I suppose I was wrong..." A single step in advance conjured the Gravity enhanced Abyssal Artistry, amplifying the magnitude of his footstomp enough to reduce a full skull deprived of magical defences into a concoction of dust and blood splatter.
  132. (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
  133.
  134. No pleading came from the girl, and the yokai was all too willing to show no mercy in return. The monster's face split open along the red line that had appeared upon its face. Rows upon rows of red knives were revealed, a horrible shark-like maw into the giga's gullet. There were no need for words now, were there? Both understood the situation well enough: fight or die. The beast took in a breath, and the world froze. No sound escaped, everything seemed to wait for what would happen next.
  135.
  136. And then the howl came. It built up slowly, but it eventually became an unearthly rattling that shook to the very bones. The world seemed to grow darker, shadows danced and writhed with the noise — the air grew heavy with occult energy and cracked. Suddenly, the noise ended, but the moving darkness did not. Every shadow around them shifted, pointing inwards towards the nameless beast, and bubbled.
  137.
  138. A claw reached out of the shadows, the darkness clinging to the form like oozing tar before shattering off it to reveal the molted yellows of another yokai. Then more claws appeared, every shadow bursting as young yokai were birthed from the shade, screeching hisses marking each creation. Dozens of freshly formed monsters oozed out of the darkness around them, forming a circle around the two of them.
  139.
  140. Hardly sporting, but anyone who expected sport from a yokai had obviously never met one. The monsters lips sealed again, the horrid maw concealed by its black hide once more. And then, as one, the lessers charged the girl upon a silent command.
  141. (Amalgam)
  142.
  143. A losing battle, and not one she would die so pathetically in, if she could help it. The tiny child gripped the daggers tightly in her hands, glaring at the beast. Honestly? Never had she used these daggers...OR a REAL weapon for that matter. Before, she was bashing in yokai brains with a wooden sword...A bunch of tiny ones, but still! She felt pretty awesome doing it too, but, she broke all her wooden blades long ago. She was pretty strong for her size...Remarkably so. Rolling her shoulders, she took a deep breath, and closed her eyes.
  144.
  145. Rising off the ground, the girl did her best to keep control. It was not always the easiest, controlling an aura and gravity magic at once. But, little Vivian somehow managed, opening her eyes as she assessed the enemy. Minions...She should try taking those out first...Yes, those first, then go for the leader. Thats how they did it it the books...That's how she would do it now!
  146.
  147. Books don’t fail her now!
  148.
  149. The roar did little to shake her, and the only response to it was a blink and huff of breath.
  150.
  151. It was obvious with the way she stood, the girl had no real training with ANYTHING she was doing. Not the aura that flickers about her...Spotty at best, nor the gravity that made her unexpectedly dip suddenly...But, it was all raw power she was running on. All of it simply strong enough to support a child untrained in her magical arts. Wind might have been a possible future magic for her too, as it blew past harshly. Pale eyes digging into the yokai as she suddenly flies forwards.
  152.
  153. Daring and brave, or stupid and naive?
  154. (Vivian Ivaylo)
  155.
  156. The clamorous approach of the man did little to distract her; for, she was devoted to the fight, the clash between child and beast, and nothing else could pull her away from this; though, the frigid touch of depravity did cause her brow to raise, and for her to observe the form of the stranger from the corner of her eye. Her depravity would meet his, mingling and weaving within it, forming a blanket, allowing each of them to know mutually that there were members of the same army; if he allowed such occurrence, because preventive measures very well could be taken.
  157.
  158. "We have been here for some time, living out of the way, secluded from society; me and some children, and the beast up there, we are in our domain here, free." She said, speaking quietly, her eyes still focused straight ahead. "It is a good place to grow, a good place to exist outside of the eyes and parameters of man's world. We are not monsters here, but simply citizens; that is not to say, however, that I have not earned my exile, even if it was self-inflicted."
  159.
  160. (Ambrose Haruke)
  161.
  162. Books might have been a guide, but rarely did they ever prepare one for what battle was truly like. A flood of red, blue, and yellow demons spilled forth from the bottomless darkness that surrounded them. And to tell the truth? The girl did decently once you factor in her age. But to do well for a six year old against a monster that had made its living in battle was not nearly enough.
  163.
  164. A lesser or two were skewered on her blades, or burned by her magic, while the giga continued to lazily circle the girl; the soft sound of the behemoth's motions were drowned out by the raging battle. Red eyes analysed her fighting style, a habit it had picked up decades ago fighting some oscuri kid it could hardly remember. It didn't take long for it to spot her weakness: the way she dipped every time she had to cast a spell, the difficulty she seemed to have maintaining so many styles of magic at once. The beast's maw opened once more and the unearthly wail rang out — but this time it was focused.
  165.
  166. A knife of dark magic shot into her mind, a sudden psychic blow on her mind. Certainly something she might have shrugged off with a few years of experience, but the sharp unexpected pain would have been enough to break her concentration for but a moment. Her flying spell faltered, and suddenly her legs were within reach of the clawing and cloying lessers. Disgusting nails cut into her flesh leaving her legs covered with deep wounds before she could regain control of her spell and pull away.
  167. (Amalgam)
  168.
  169. Her second real battle ever...And it would leave scars on her legs if she survived this. But that was not so bad...Scars told a story, and her story would not end here if she could help it…
  170.
  171. Her failure to have real skill with magic was her undoing. Never having found a proper teacher, she could not control it. The monster found her weakness, the opening she left in what she thought was a perfect protection. Down to the floor she would fall, her mind momentarily scrambled. As she regain her composure, his disgusting little minions went after her. Using her legs as a shield, since she did not actually USE them in this fight, she would shut her eyes tightly.
  172.
  173. They swarmed her, seeming to over take her in a tackle of claws and sharp teeth. But pale, blue light shined through the spaces between the yokai babies. Glowing brighter and brighter...Until light burst from with, sending the yokai lessers tumbling backwards. A great ball of bright, blue energy flying in the sky. Vivian following its lead and she pushes herself off the floor, into the air. The aura around her no longer flickering and spotty...No...IT was blazing around her like a wild fire.
  174.
  175. Pure energy surrounding the girl as the air grows heavy, the very area seeming to condense...Grow in weight. Unconscious use of magic due to anger...She would not be killed by a bunch of little yokai! No way, no how! This big yokai better kill her, or she would REFUSE to stay dead! Much like her grand father before he...She has yet to find out such things though.
  176.
  177. Likely never would.
  178.
  179. Gripping the blades in her hands tightly, she bared her teeth and pointed her daggers. Silver metal aimed for the yokai’s eyes. Or...Two of them. She CLEARLY was not going down easy. Not your everyday six year old it would seem. But even when torn apart by yokai, and injured as she was.
  180.
  181. Vivian never once screamed.
  182. (Vivian Ivaylo)
  183.
  184. Perhaps the nameless giga would have been impressed by the girl's ability to withstand pain if it knew even the slightest bit about humanity and its offshoots. But the ookami got no respect from the beast, no recognition of her bravery and tenacity in the face of overwhelming odds. Just casual contempt from a monster that still only thought of others as prey. She did score one goal though.
  185.
  186. When the ookami exploded out in a burst of light, the newborn lessers practically were vaporized. Their bodies freshly formed from dark magic, they lacked the strength to hold together under the onslaught of holy magic. And the giga itself audibly hissed as it felt the burning, disgusting, presence of exorcist magic near it. Its own flesh seemed to recoil from the holy light that shone from her.
  187.
  188. But the reprieve didn't last.
  189.
  190. The yokai opened its mouth, showing its teeth in a wide grin, before it lunged. People often make assumptions based on appearance, and one of the oldest and most ingrained prejudices is "big things are slow". But the girl would never be able to make that assumption again after seeing the giga turn into a blur, the writhing mass of arms suddenly slamming into her in less time than it took to blink. It was a testament to her nerve and determination that she still managed to drive daggers into the charging giga, each penetrating a hand as the monster closed with her.
  191.
  192. Unfortunately what were wounds like that to a yokai but a nusiance? Silver blades protruded out the back of the monster's hands, dark blood oozing forth fromt he wounds. But still they wrapped around her hands and slammed her arms back to the ground. She could feel the creature's vile hot breath as two more of the thing's arms grabbed her legs and liftedthe girl up so that it was eye-to-eye with the yokai. Well, with the eyes on the yokai's head anyways.
  193.
  194. "Weak." A mocking psychic voice taunting the girl for having the gall to be six and fighting a monster with decades of murder under it. "At least now you will be useful," the monster particaly chuckled. And then its mouth opened, and slowly the ookami was lowered towards its mouth.
  195. (Amalgam)
  196.
  197. "Out of the way, hm?" Thinking about it, left his mind to wander to the supposed leadership figure: Lyperias. Their alleged goddess was no where to be seen. Not once had she appeared to his aid thus far and it didn't seem to be present here, furrowing his brows slightly as he pondered the faith he practiced to well. "I see." He answered, eyes drawn to the scuffle at bay: An Exorcist Ookami in battle against a Giga-Class Yokai, and losing.
  198.
  199. "Free... I don't call this freedom... I call this bottlement." He replied, "The world forces us to the corners of its wake, and it irritates me down to the core.. I don't intend on accepting the brand of civillian after the torment our kind had to endure for so many years. For centuries at that... We deserve more... Valmasia needs to repent for its sins or suffer the consequences that long awaited it." Eyes followed the Ookami midst its struggle, curious of how an Exorcist lasted as long as it did against the gargantuan beast.
  200.
  201. "Your exile was earned the moment you were birthed in this vile atmosphere... Valmasians frown upon our ilk and would be more than appeased to vanquish for their satisfaction. Satisfaction for false gods... A joke..." He finished.
  202. With some further delay, he turned his head to the younger Harukean with query, "I assume the Exorcist is an interloper?"
  203. (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
  204.
  205. Witnessing this degree of helplessness was electrifying, but she could sense that it was quickly coming to an end; that the denouement to this simple, yet potent confrontation was coming to an end. She watched on as the girl was felled, and then even laughed a loud, audible cackle when she saw her being hoisted from the ground, and guided toward the beast's mouth; but then there was a pang of genius in her, an enthusiasm that concerned living things. She could not bring herself to do allow this body, this living thing, to be wasted in such a counterproductive manner.
  206.
  207. She stepped forward, the tendrils moving with her, stretching toward the demon. "Release her, for now, so that I can use to conduct my experiments. It has been a long time since my last experimentation, and this is a golden opportunity. I do not want to waste it like this; and like you said, she is not of unique status. Additionally, she was using magic of the holy variety, and I doubt that it would go too well if you decided to digest her, or tried to. Let me have her, for now, and then when she is nothing but a broken little doll, you can use her to play with."
  208.
  209. Heard Exovaryn, but sort of ignored it, giving him a quick look--the yokai eating the little girl, that was more pressing than existentatlist discourse with a cloaked stranger.
  210.
  211. (Ambrose Haruke)
  212.
  213. Well, in the end she lost, but Vivian didn’t give up so easy. The tiny six year old smaller than others her size, with no voice and looking to be half starved...Did fairly well against a beast probably a lot older, and a lot bigger than she. All the odds were against her, she was good as dead...And it certainly looked as if this was the end for little Vivian.
  214.
  215. The beast charged her, despite blinding its babies and holding up against a mind attack...She was slammed to the ground. It would probably break a rib or two...But, considering she had been crushed under the weight of tons of chains and hand multiple bones broken? This was a walk in the park! Vivian’s life was….Probably not the healthiest. No, not at all, she was sort of like a human punching bag at this point.
  216.
  217. Well, human-ish.
  218.
  219. The tiny child winced silently, looking up at the yokai as it mocked her, called her weak. Nothing she had not heard before, nothing that bothered her. These comments were not new, not original. They did not hurt the willful child. Even in her time of death, a defiant glare was given to the yokai. Red color seemingly dying her white hair, having hit her head on the ground when she was forced down.
  220.
  221. There was a pulse in her brain, her hearing was pierced with a loud ringing sound, and her sight was foggy, but she could see the outline of the horrible creature, smell the bed smell of its breath...Not too far from the place she once lived. A few corpses would have been left behind. She missed her friend…
  222.
  223. The sound of the strange girl halting her death, confused Vivian a bit. Experimentation...The didn’t sound so bad...Certainly better than being devoured by yokai…
  224.
  225. Hopefully.
  226. (Vivian Ivaylo)
  227.
  228. The giga was similarly ignorant of the latest Harukean's words — though in its case it was because it was savouring victory over yet another mage. A six year old one to be sure, but a mage nonetheless. Her defiance concerned it not in the least, even at the final hour the girl would find no respect from its opponent. It hardly even heard Ambrose's words, the eternal hunger for magic that burned in the yokai would not let it pass up a meal so easily. The girl's head passed the first row of the monster's teeth, her sight no doubt taken up by the rows of red knives in the monster's mouth. But then — a pause.
  229.
  230. The silver haired Harukean's words finally registered with the giga, or rather a specific phrase. Holy magic. Suddenly the horrific smell of light radiated off of her, the stench almost overwhelming its nose. It was like suddenly realising you were about to shove a pile of wet dog poop into your mouth. The yokai shuddered, revulsion suddenly overcoming the most primal instinct it had.
  231.
  232. Roughly, the monster tossed her aside — leaving the girl to slide across the dirt to Ambrose's feet. "I will let her live today," the yokai said, doing its best to suppress both its disgust at the holy magic inside the girl and its disgust at sparing anyone, "As a favour to you." How diplomatic, to pretend your own disgust was in fact generosity.
  233.
  234. But yokai were nothing if not opportunistic.
  235.
  236. The giga hissed unconsciously, hunger left unfed. However — of the dozens of lessers it had summoned, at least one wounded one remained alive. Sheer luck. Not that that luck held, as casually the monster crushed the yellow demon's head casually in on hand and tossed the corpse into its mouth. What did it care for its kin or children after all?
  237. (Amalgam)
  238.
  239. She watched as the girl was tossed on to the ground, and nodded as she walked toward her; she reached down with her strong hand, and took a handful of the victim's hair into her hand and began walking, dragging her across the ground, stopping only aside the demon. "I believe that you will like what I do with her, or maybe you, perhaps not. I do not think that your kind is capable of sadism in its subtle form, preferring only those grandiose displays; but I digress, there are many things I will do, for my own sake, and for that opportunity I must thank you,"
  240.
  241. The host continued to walk, her eyes set on the door, her mind focused. She was going to enter the confines of the little home with the girl in tow, and from within this cell, things of the most wretched sort would occur.
  242.
  243. (Ambrose Haruke)
  244.
  245. Being thrown, once more, she tumbles to the ground and frowns. Looking more annoyed than in pain or upset. Vivian’s not scared, no...Just annoyed. A voice in the back of her head screams and cries and yells for her to run. But why should she listen? This voice remained silent so long...It might as well stay that way! But another voice called out, cooing sweet words. She must have hit her head a little TOO hard. A little crazy never hurt anyone though.
  246.
  247. Unless they were unfeeling and distant…
  248.
  249. Looking up at the girl, she looked less than pleased at being dragged along like some dead thing, but, she could not move. So there was no point fighting it. Besides, not like she could complain about it. Perhaps Vivian would get the chance to run at some point, maybe not. At this point? It didn’t even matter. She was alive-ish and well-ish. A lot of -ish, but still.
  250.
  251. It was something. Looking at the yokai as they passed…She smirked.
  252.
  253. Vivian counted this as a small victory.
  254. (Vivian Ivaylo)
  255.
  256. A reunion with fellow kindred went shortlived, leaving Voss to eventually continue his travels elsewhere. If something had the intellect to comprehend one's means to communicate and provide mentally developed feedback, it had Exovaryn's attention at this point. This time, it was a group of travelers that surrounded him in his trek back towards the Trystle caverns, awaiting those whom attacked him prior to relinquish themselves from the darkness within.
  257.
  258. Not an inch of flesh aside from exposed lips remained in clear view, parting to unveil few words to wanderers departing the cavernous opening.
  259. "...A world without understanding, is a world without justice. A land without balance, is a land without justice. A land without justice is one plagued with Sin... All Sin is subject to cleansing." He babbled, patiently plastering his gaze for movement at the opening.

  262. As with the Wychwood, Nazirah makes it her business to cause a ruckus in the Trystle cavern. Disgruntled with her loss, she seeks nothing but improvment--to hone her skill. Unfortunately for its inhabitants, this involves them being delt with at spear-point. Reika surging, the young girl tears through any yokai that may dare challenge her, accumilating quite the pile by the time fatigue gets the best of her.

  266. Nazirah groans, stroking her chin in thought. They simply didn't do the job! Her battles with the mindless yokai amounts to nothing but pest control. There is no challenge;nothing to get her blood flowing. With a sharp exhale, she decides to pack up and continue on her way to the Marshlands.
  267.
  268. Throwing a hand before her and with a squint, she shields her eyes from the bright rays of light as she leaves the cave--only to be met with a person. Had he been waiting for her? An interrogative stare befalls Exovaryn, grip tightening at the shaft of her spear.

  355. "What are you goin' on about? You got somethin' to say to me, eh?"

  357.
  358. The Harukean Occultist's brows furrowed slightly at the aggressive introduction of an entity that was... Not whom he was looking for. What he was expecting was a full grown man, accompanied with several other Exorcists. This? This was naught more than a mere girl, Oscuri at that. The weilded staff only confirmed his disappointing prediction fabricated within the depths of his mind. "You are quite the aggressor." He commented, "Are all of your sort like this?" He questioned with mild delay to follow.
  359.
  360. "Or... Are you just the anamoly..." The words that seeped past his lips were chill, without reason to worry. Was it due to the age difference? With height on his side, he lacked intimidation coming from younger and shorter folk, albeit, he was faced with a weapon whilst he himself was seemingly unarmed!
  361. "If there is anything I must say, it'd be that you're plagued with sin that blinds you just like the rest..."
  362. (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
  363.
  364. She can feel the energy that pervades the occultist. It's dark and infects the very air it touches. The aura alone has her stomach churning and oddly enough, brings a subtle grin to her lips. It's true! The way she carries herself and even her visage denotes aggression.
  365.
  366. Despite the lingering aura, Nazirah takes a step forth, stopping just under Exovaryn's nose. Eyes--jade--spark with energy of the same color.
  367.
  368. "You're not talkin' bad about oscuri, are ya?" she questions, leaning forth. On the tips of her toes, she comes to the man's neck only to whisper: "Things don't turn out too good the guys that do that. See... we--well, it's a quick way to Lord Azrael, that's for sure."
  369.
  370. Nazirah leans back, rocking on the balls of her feet. Either she's ignorant of the Haruke's power, or confident in her own. Either way, it's blatant that she's almost itching for a fight; Exovaryn makes it easy.
  371.
  372. "I'm plagued with sin? Okay, whatever. Just get outta the way and go home or somethin'."
  373. (Nazirah)
  374.
  375. At such close range, the ebony scelera captured Nazirah's reflection in their midst; Illuminated pupils of auburn hue aimed to glare back towards the challenging Oscuri child, with the feeble curl of his lips aroused with what he percieved to be a threat of Oscuri brand. "Meet Azreal? You acknowledge that as your Lord?" He asked testingly.
  376.
  377. "...Your.. 'Lord Azreal', doesn't exist." He flat-out stated with monotonious expression, callous to her reaction to the claim. "There is no Azreal as you so claim, just as there is no Kraus. You Valmasians are blind to this fact, a fact fabricated by a congregation of potent and crafty magi that constantly manage to trick the minds of the inane. Oscuri such as yourself are included." He finished, "There is no Immortal Angel promising 'Immortality' through Death. The only Undeath there is, is through the works of magi... Nothing else." He spoke, continuing onward regardless of the girl's willingness to hear it.
  378.
  379. "Have you seen any proof of his existence? Have you seen Azreal? Have you seen Kraus? You never will, because they do not have the power to even save themselves with the power claimed to their figures. For that matter, they can not, and do not exist..."
  380. (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
  381.
  382. "Tch."
  383.
  384. Nazirah closes her eyes, exhaling sharply but to no avail. She's unable to contain her rage. The heathen elicits a powerful response from the girl. In a show of power, the leylines that curve along her skin grow bright with light and soon, in a display of raw reika does the child exude a copious amount of energy! It manifest itself in the form of a brilliant, viridian aura.
  385.
  386. "Enough! You shut your mouth!" she shouts, brandishing her spear.
  387.
  388. Kicking against the soft earth, she establishes some distance between the two. Perhaps, in battle might she redeem herself.
  389.
  390. "You want proof? I am proof! This power--it's a gift from him and no one else! A blessing! Through me, he'll show you his strength! I'll teach you he's more than real, you infidel!"
  391. (Nazirah)
  392.
  393. A demand? From a mere traveler? A child at that.. Exovaryn couldn't help to contain his chortle, bringing his right arm up to comfort his visage, concealing his branded teeth from view. Shoulders bounced slightly, but inevitibly rested at his sides once the humor died out in his perspective. It could only perpetuate for so long...
  394.
  395. The girl placing distance betwixt the two in conjunction to the unleashing of one's aura signified the imminence of combat- Something Voss had been alien to, for too long.
  396. "Proof? You think power from your puny vessel will provide with any proof?... Do you think you know power? Do you even have the capacity to entertain my level of capability?" He queried, leveling hype with the pressurization of the general zone. Gravitational influence crushed at his surroundings, and empowered the Harukean with seemingly telekinetic qualities, not limited to: Flight.
  397.
  398. "...Come at me with all you have, child... But in the end, you'll find the hullucination of Azreal forsaking you in the end..."
  399. (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
  400.
  401. Nazirah isn't unreasonable. In most cases, she's more than capable of quelling her anger, but this? It was unacceptable! To preserve her own honor and that of her lord, she has to act.
  402.
  403. A fierce, burning green gaze settles on Exovaryn, the oscuri child falling into her stance. Legs a fair distance a part, the blade of her spear is pointed at the ground. She allows the man time to prepare for their battle--a glorious battle--in which she would teach the Haruke of Azrael. Demonstrate for him, the power bestowed upon her.
  404.
  405. "I won't relent until you awknowledge him. You'd best prepare," she warns.
  406.
  407. The aura never falls. In fact, it burns with more force than previously and sparks fly about her eyes. With a breath of air, she grins. Her blood is boiling. It aches for this--for a fight. For redemption. "I've had enough of your mouth!" Shifting once, Nazirah bounds for the man, spear in tow.
  408. (Nazirah)
  409.
  410. "If you don't intend on relenting, then your tenacity is well acknowledge... But futile." The mockery of his laughter condescended the efforts of the Oscuri femme whom stood ready. "But if you're truly insistent on resorting to violence... Allow me to give you a glimpse of what I'm capable of." He lowered his head slightly to cast a shadow over his visage, leaving the malign grin to fade from view.
  411.
  412. Flakes of translucent amalgamated cosmic energy manifested from the atmosphere he hovered within, creeping in from the surroundings about the Harukean to meld into the apparel and seep into the flesh, bestowing him with an auralean glow. The shroud of the Occult meshed with the festering conjuration to fabricate an abyssal construct of magical potence: adorn with a unique crimson emanation.
  413.
  414. "Here... Have it..." Gravitational influence succumbed to flux, propelling the Occultist through the air to rocket a bent knee into the Oscuri's abdomen, curling their physicality to his volition. The impact slowed time enough to one to grasp concept of reality, the armored knee sunk beyond the flesh despite never breaching the skin, bending at flexible bone albeit not snapping them outright, and finally rejecting the body via transfered inertia.
  415.
  416. A slight shift from her form parted their bodies, but only for the second's hiatus mised into their encounter by Exovaryn. It was chained in, with an aerodynamically preformed backflip, catching Nazirah's chin in the blitz with uppercutting qualities. Feet sunk into the earth below, as prelude to his kick-off, where he intended on landing the final blow!
  417.
  418. A gravity empowered fist hammered up, parried by the swat of the femme's spear. Snarled teeth succumbed to a grin; Harukean teeth bared clear to one's perception, akin to the bladed sort of Sirenian ilk. The transition of one's weapon, heaved at the Harukean yet again, pushing him distance away from her, and allowing a moment's pause... Enforced by his slow approach prior to immediate recovery.
  419.
  420. "Is that all you've got?"
  421. (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
  422.
  423. Perhaps she's a bit too confident. Her reckless charge is met with immediate consequence, Exovaryn driving a knee hard into her gut. It forces the air up from her lungs, the child wheezing. In that moment, everything lags--she hangs on his knee, bone rattles before her body is forcefully ripped from the joint.
  424.
  425. The reika that shrouds her dissipates as the Haruke closes in once more, though. With the hard swing of her spear, she defends against the man's fist, stumbling back. This allows her time to recover, a palm pressed against her stomach in comfort. Nazirah grins, spurting a some of blood.
  426.
  427. "Is... this all I've got?" she repeats with a scoff.
  428.
  429. Sniffing, she takes the back of the hand to her lips, wiping them clean. Sucking her cheeks, Nazirah gathers sanguine stained saliva, spitting it all out in one long line of drool. It's disgusting, to say the least. Clenching her lance, the Oscuri rolls her shoulders, settling once more, into her preferred stance.
  430.
  431. "That was just a warm up."
  432. (Nazirah)
  433.
  434. "Hrm. A warm up, huh?"
  435. He took a step forth with a pivot in his stance, bringing curled arms up to his sides in an inviting manner. "Alright, let's see what you're truly made of.." At this perspective, the auburn purpils glimmered through the shadow casted by his hood. A sprint from the Oscuri was complemented with the same from Exovaryn, providing the opportunity for the duo to rush into a clash!
  436.
  437. The spear drove for flesh, swatted by what seemed to be Exovaryn's hand, spawning miniature shards of illuminated metal, sparking on contact. A glimpse for damage at the direct parry of his palm revealed a slightly torn portion of his manteau and... Something else... Metal! He was wearing steel guantlets to aid him in close quarters. The spin of the spear was met with the vertical block of the Harukean's risen left arm, slid down to clutch at the bar itself and lock its usage from the weilder. "I'd say you're approaching your limit." He assumed.
  438.
  439. The freed right arm sought for his left leg, fingers flicking up at a closed scubbard, and firmly grasping upon the handle of a small-arm. The flash of silver-metal was the only warning to the swipe of a dagger across the chestal region, trailing just beneath the collarbone. It was a superficial cut that beckoned no bloodspray to the Harukean's dismay.
  440. "A foolish mistake when considering the possibilities of the outcome to this." He ripped the spear from Nazirah's grasp, tossing it aside.
  441.
  442. Fingers toiled at their toy, spinning the blade around for another slash. A tree directly behind the Oscuri girl found the blade's edge rather than the flesh of the evasive child. Chips of the wooden bark scattered the immediate scene, but allowed adequete cover for Nazirah to rush for her spear once more. Voss dashed forth to close the distance, rolling the dagger's handle in his palm to direct its point downward for the Oscuri to mise an end to this scuffle albeit, there was more than enough time for Nazirah to take recollect her spear..
  443. But could she parry Voss off in time? Or at least catch the blade of one's dagger with her spear.
  444.
  445. "For one so young, I can acknowledge skill... But this is not true power... As stated prior, your acclaimed Azreal lacks the ability to support you here... He has no power. What will it take for you to understand this?"
  446. (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
  447.
  448. All of her strength drives the force behind her initial swing--a swing parried by metal. She isn't allowed a strong start nor is she given time to recover. Each swing is met with a block of some kind until the Haruke manages to grab hold of the polearm. Nazirah scowls, pulling with all her might but to no avail. They lock gazes.
  449.
  450. "My limit? Not even close!"
  451.
  452. Nazirah is forced to abandon her weapon as a dagger comes swinging. It manages to nick her, just barely piercing through her flesh. A thin line of sanguine falls as she retreats. "You're the one making a mistake!" she calls over her shoulder, diving as her weapon is thrown. The blade lodges itself deep within the bark of a tree; the same tree she takes cover behind.
  453.
  454. Bits and pieces of debris scatter, bruising her skin as she yanks her spear free from the tree. The sound of clashing metal reverberates about the battlefield, Nazirah falling on her rear and panting. Her reika withers with the passing wind, fatigue and sore muscles taking the best of her. Big, green eyes befall Exovaryn.
  455.
  456. "No. I just--I haven't honed them. I haven't made the best out of the--the blessings he's given me," she mumbles between breaths. Her hand finds the spear at her side. "What you preach is rubbish."
  457. (Nazirah)
  458.
  459. "A fool down to the very end." He sighed, lowering his guard toa resting Oscuri. "A pity..." Voss' unused left arm rose up for Nazirah, fingers spread out and palm outstretched with festering energies surmounting at the core of his hand, pulsating rings that rebelled the containment of his physical grasp.
  460.
  461. "In the end, I suppose it's nothing to be surprised of..." He began his conclusion. "You're just like the rest: Flailing around your magical powers, all in the name of your god.." The whine of magical essence commanded to the Harukean's volition surfaced to reality in the shape of a trinity of powers. A blackened sphere of gravitational power was exercised to its fullest extent, bleeding the mergence of Occult entwined Cosmic magic at its core.
  462.
  463. Immense build up conducted crimson static-- The orb was crafted, bending at the fabric of perception with the illusion of dramatized humidity. "It is all an effort to prove yourself, just as the rest would... Ultimately to furfill nothing in the long run. Perhaps, this will open your eyes..." The fabrication of the Occultist's powers shriveled down to a bead of consolidated presence, expanding to become a pillar to display his magical prowness at full throttle.
  464.
  465. A beam of conjoined energies, imperfected entirely riveted through the scene; swallowing and carting away. The earth was hardly carved, singed at the surface with streams of steam simmering from points of risen foliage. The alleged blast of energy, withered as soon as it appeared, leaving the Oscuri dumped into the swampy waters nearby, vanished from Voss' perception. The false idea of discarding the irritatant, satisfied Exovaryn, and left him with no further motivation to investigate.
  466.
  467. He had a new belief now... The cleansing of this land, through extermination of its inhabitants: Equivalent Exchange would achieve continental solace at the cost of hundreds, if not thousands- If need be...
  468.
  469. "...Open your eyes to that, that is... Eternal Darkness... Look on in company with the Goddess of Fate prior the return of her Incarnate to the stars above."
  470. (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
