The Realm of Dreamers

There exists a realm beyond our own, a realm of the shared unconscious where the realms of dreamers lie. Every dreamer has a realm and within every realm there are endless possibilities. The whims of the dreamer create the realm and change it to their whims and desires. It is a place of freedom, a place of expression, and a place of joy. You can even allow others to visit your realm if you so choose and have the knowhow to achieve it! However, there exist others who seek to control the realms and see themselves as overseers of the entirety of the realms. These people annex other realms into their own in an attempt to completely fuse the realms of the dreamers into one and to tell their own stories for the "Joy of the dreamers" that they control. The Council of Dreamers is a blight upon this realm and they think that the average dreamer is a blithering idiot that can't properly control their dreams.

One such dreamer went to sleep to find his dream realm annexed by one of the power hungry council-members and at first he left the council member to his own devices as he watched him bring in 3 people, but then he was caught and forced to become a member of councilman's stories but...he did not follow the councilman's instructions, how dare someone else tell this dreamer how to dream? The Councilman went mad and attempted to break both him and the others within the dream but...the councilman underestimated just how skilled this dreamer was at controlling their dreams. A long battle ensued but the dreamer was just a bit more cunning and had much more power in controlling the dream as he was the one who truly owned this realm. The Councilman was stripped of his power and cast out and all the connecting realms were cut, the dreamer sent the others home and he began to plan for when he knew the council would come knocking. You see, a dreamer can change the very rules of their own realm and can in turn make themselves absolutely powerful and the energy that empowers that are the dream orbs, metaphysical concepts that represent a dreamer's power and influence over their dreams. They knew the Council would try to brute force their way into controlling his realm again so he enforced a series of rules that would bring about their end.

When the egotistical council members came into his realm to reclaim it, they found the dream orbs they had brought with them stripped and reprogrammed in an instant, as the dreamer has made it to where within his realm only he and those who have his direct and spoken approval can wield the dream orbs in his realm. Despite this the council members pushed forward, considering themselves far too high and mighty for but one dreamer to defeat. Yet they were surprised when what they found was beyond their own beliefs and imaginations. This dreamer had set up endless traps and tricks which slowly captured each council member and enforced a permanent ban on their very existance from this realm. It is impossible to truly kill a dreamer but using this method he barred every single member of the council from ever entering his realm again and in turn gained each of their dream signatures.

Using this method, the dreamer went to work. He spread their signatures across the realms, teaching others how to bar them from ever entering and how to kick them out if they forcibly entered and tried to annex your realm. Over time the Council lost power in nearly all realms, apart from the realms which were already fervent followers of them as this particular dreamer screwed them over until the end. They were something beyond furious but because all the other dreamers had learned this dreamer's ways there was nothing they could reasonably do to gain back the power they had stolen to begin with. So, as a result, a relative peace came about the realms, people willingly shared access to their realms with each other again and the dreamer who had saved the realms from the council went down in history yet....he vanished afterward, hiding his realm from others, the only ones who knew why remaining tight-lipped. Then again, he always did prefer his privacy.
