- Autobots:
- Optimus Prime:
- Alt. mode: Mack Truck
- The last known surviving member of the doomed ARK expedition. The latest of the Prime Leaders, Optimus took it upon himself to sacrifice himself and a few other noble Cybertronians in order to end the Second Great War for good. He crashes on primitive Earth, where only he and his nemesis, Megatron, survived. After presumably defeating Megatron for good, he roamed the planet, gathering supplies that would let him communicate with Cybertron.
- Optimus longs to see his home planet again, and is a very caring being, believing that all life has a purpose to it. He is also a stalwart leader, even after millions of years. He wields an energy axe weapon, and an ion cannon as his weapons.
- Hot Rod:
- Alt. mode: Sports Car
- Hot Rod was considered a scrapper, a guy who collects trash, but he considers himself a mechanic. He enjoys sprucing up old ships, and is even an amateur pilot in his spare time. Some of his other hobbies include gathering old equipment from ships, which is how he managed to receive a distress signal from Optimus Prime. Hot Rod, anxious to save the legendary hero, but refused access to the space bridge, decided to hijack the Gung Ho. Due to the mysterious disappearance of former pilot Longarm, he was able to convince the crew to make a quick stop at Earth.
- Hot Rod doesn’t entirely take life seriously, a bit of a jokester, and always eager for a good time. Him and Showdown proved to be good friends, while his lazy demeanor gets him berated by the uptight Doubletake. Hot Rod doesn’t mind, because he enjoys the company of others after what amounted to years of solitude.
- In battle, Hot Rod wields a custom blowtorch, capable of cutting through metal, and can also change into a long range “spitfire” mode. As a melee weapon, he carries an energy hammer.
- Catapult:
- Alt. mode: Baja Buggy
- Catapult is the moodiest of all the members of the Gung Ho. She was, at one point, an assassin slash spy, but when the Decepticons were moved to New Kaon, it resulted in her primary function being changed to a scout. She has general communication problems due to years of her former job. She is, by far, the most skilled of the Gung Ho’s crew.
- She is also the quietest, not interacting with any teammates, unless she really, really needs to. The arrival of Hot Rod somewhat changed that, as she finds his antics annoying, especially when he’s always trying to cheer her up. However, sometimes, she finds herself getting into Hot Rod and Showdown’s antics.
- In combat, Catapult wields a long-range sniper rifle called the Cygnus Sniper Rifle, capable of shooting a scraplet from miles away, though its not known if that’s her own skill, or a special skill of the gun. She also wields an energo-katana, which she uses to scratch through enemy defenses quickly, and efficiently. She also has incredibly acrobatic talents, and is able to move without making a sound.
- Showdown
- Alt. mode: Monster Truck
- Showdown is considered by many a show-off, once a pit fighter, Showdown was considered the best there was. He carries that attitude into battle, making poses, and shouting catchphrases every chance he gets. While this might seem arrogant, Showdown definitely has the skills to make it work. He also enjoys creatively trash talking anyone he fights.
- Showdown out of battle, however, is one of the nicest guys you’ll meet. As the saying goes, big guy, big spark. He cares about everyone on the Gung Ho, and makes his affection pretty obvious. It can sometimes come off as annoying, but his friends, no matter how anti-social they might act, also care about him. He made a special connection with Hot Rod, as the two are both rather hot blooded and open, compared to the rather moody rest of the crew.
- Showdown, in combat, enjoys using wrestling moves to wreck his enemies. But if in a pinch, he can transform his arms into Inertial Surge Cannons, which are incredibly powerful, but can only last for a single shot.
- Doubletake
- Alt. mode: Sports Car
- Doubletake is the most straight laced, perfectly performing police officer you could imagine. He follows everything in the Cybertronian Guard protocol to the absolute letter, never straying or moving an inch from it. His crew on the Gung Ho might call him a bit of a mood killer, but he’s just doing it to ensure their safety.
- But Doubletake wasn’t always like that, nor was he always named Doubletake. At one point, he was an underworld bodyguard, a Decepticon named Doublesplit. After witnessing an unspeakable act, something which he has regretted ever since, and refuses to talk about, he turned from the Decepticon ways, and was reborn as Doubletake.
- As a rule following officer, Doubletake carries around the police standard Circuit Taser and Energo-Club. The Circuit Taser has the ability to completely stun another Cybertronian, allowing them to be taken in. This isn’t especially useful on Earth, but the Taser can function as a rather weak blaster as well. The Energo-Club has a similar effect, but also doubles as a, well, club, letting him beat on criminals. Not that he would do that, excessive force is only to be used in critical situations.
- He conceals two hidden weapons, however, due to his original Decepticon alignment. The Badlands Saw and the Assail Laser Rifle, both deadly weapons.
- Triage
- Alt. mode: Ambulance
- Triage isn’t what you’d call a welcoming doctor. Be it from his emotionless face, caused by the much maligned empurata procedure, or his rather intimidating size. When you get to know Triage… you’ll find he’s just as emotionless as his face. He has a job to do, and won’t let any emotions get in the way of his duties. Unless that emotion is anger, one of the few that survived the process.
- This makes him rather uncomfortable to be around for most Autobots, but oddly enough, he is one of the best medics in their entire ranks. Its presumed he was made a cargo ship medic due to his bad temper and… unfriendly looking appearance. Or, perhaps, his anger comes from him not being higher ranked. He claims his anger doesn’t exist, so no one will ever really know.
- You might not expect Triage to be a presence in battle, but he knows how to use his defibrillators as painful weapons, specifically the punching kind. His long-range weapons consist of the Defibrillation Pistols, weak blasters, and a Cerrian Beam Gun, which shoots a healing beam. His right hand can transform into a number of different medical tools, including the beam gun.
- Decepticons:
- Megatron
- Alt. mode: Cybertronian Jet
- Megatron was once a simple pit fighter, but considered himself somewhat of a visionary. Seeking respect for the Decepticon side of Cybertron, something they had completely lacked for millions of years, he started an uprising, beginning the second Great War. His original intentions seemed to have been lost somewhere along the way, something not even Megatron realizes.
- He and his elite Decepticon warriors were tricked into being trapped on Earth, where he was finally defeated by Optimus Prime. Deactivated, but not dead, Megatron rose millions of years later, sending a signal to the Decepticons back on Cybertron. He is armed with an energy mace, and a powerful fusion cannon.
- Shockwave
- Alt. mode: Tank
- Shockwave isn’t just one of Megatron’s most loyal soldiers, something that he’s taken to near obsession levels, but he is also one of the greatest scientists Cybertron ever produced. He was once a scientist who tried to stop Zeta Prime’s corruption, but was reduced to a vengeful, emotionless beast after undergoing empurata. Megatron’s revolution inspired him, and he quickly strove to reach the highest ranks of the Decepticon forces.
- Having been the sole soldier left on Cybertron before Megatron’s disappearance, Shockwave continued to follow his master’s orders to the letter. In order to remain on Cybertron, he had to take on an Autobot disguise, known as Longarm, who acted as the pilot of the cargo ship Gung Ho. For years, Shockwave designed the Triptych, a spaceship that nearly rivals the legendary Nemesis in terms of power.
- Shockwave is armed with a powerful cannon, and a host of tools he can replace his right hand with.
- Firebreaker
- Alt. mode: Jet
- Firebreaker is an elite hacker, one of the few Decepticons known throughout the galaxy, even if only by crime rings. For years after New Kaon was established, he travelled around the universe, using his unique computer interfacing abilities to help the highest bidders. Most consider him an untrustworthy, scheming sort, but Firebreaker is surprisingly loyal to whoever hires him.
- That is part of Shockwave chose him as the pilot of the Triptych. His mix of loyalty, unique abilities, and general piloting skills made him perfect for the job. What nobody realizes, not even Firebreaker himself, is that he is a clone of the Decepticon second in command, Starscream. A piece of Starscream’s spark rests within his own, and is designed to take over as soon as Megatron is confirmed dead.
- Firebreaker isn’t much for combat, but he isn’t the worst on the Triptych. He wields a flip out energy dagger on his wrist for close up combat, and has a Vindicon Virus Rifle as his main weapon of choice. A lightweight weapon capable of firing blasts that can slice through most Cybertronian alloys. It isn’t remarkably powerful, however, but if used correctly, can inject a computer virus into a processor. For his hacking needs, Firebreaker can summon a being known as Virus from his chest. A small insect like robot that Firebreaker can control, it can hack into most computers, and carry a surprising amount of data.
- Astraea
- Alt. mode: Pickup Truck
- Femme Fatale would be a good way of describing Astraea, but that would be implying she is feminine in any way. Astraea was once an underground criminal on Cybertron, where she acted as a freelance bodyguard to those her hired her. Her protection mostly amounted to scrapping anyone who got in her client’s way, and she enjoyed it a lot. After the deport, she continued her business, but the lawless land of New Kaon made it feel a whole lot less fun.
- When Shockwave contacted her to become the scout of the Triptych, she accepted. She assumed it was a fool’s mission, but went along anyway mostly because it would be interesting. She was made scout for her mix of speed and brutality, a rare mix, even among Decepticons. During her early bodyguarding days, she had partner named Riptake, who mysteriously vanished.
- Astraea is armed with an energy blade, a powerful weapon capable of cutting through even the hardest of metal. However, she also enjoys blasting foes in both the sky and the ground away with her high powered Asteroid Grenade Launcher, which fires grenades with the power of small asteroids. One might call it a bit overboard for bodyguarding, but Astraea would tell you why it isn’t… by blasting you with it.
- Drive-By
- Alt. mode: Muscle Car
- Nobody likes Drive-By, not even his fellow Decepticons. He’s what you would call crazy, a loon, a psychotic murderer. Drive-By is only driven by the voice in his head, which he claims to be that of the mythical Xal. According to Drive-By himself, “Xal” commands him to bathe in the fresh oil of newly slain Cybertronians. Before the Decepticons were isolated to New Kaon, he was one of the most hunted murderers on the entire planet. However, on the law-free New Kaon, his passion became even more prevalent, as he began killing his own Decepticon brethren.
- Unfortunately for the crew of the Triptych, Drive-By is also one of the most skilled medics in the entire Decepticon army. Self taught, Drive By always had a fascination with the insides of other Cybertronians, and could successful tear apart and rebuild one in only a few hours. Due to his constant oil baths, Drive-By is permanently greasy, a skill that comes in handy during combat due to his low fortitude.
- In combat, Drive-By is armed with a pair of Oil Blasters that are directly connected to his own oil supply. Prolonged use of the blasts can result in him going into stasis until he is refilled. He is also armed with a Payload Laser Rifle, capable of delivering a weak form of the Cosmic Rust disease to foes. If melee combat ever comes up, Drive-By can use his own hands to efficiently reduce enemies to scrap, as his knowledge of all Cybertronian bodytypes is second to none. But when things get a bit too hairy, he can always use his favorite Electro-Wrench as a bludgeoning tool.
- Rampart
- Alt. mode: Tank
- Rampart is what one might call a “fanboy”. Specifically, of Megatron. He lives his life as close to Megatron’s history as he can, having become a pit fighter on New Kaon to emulate his hero. Rampart gained fame as the top-ranking pit fighter, and enjoyed an influx of royalties as creatures from across the universe came to watch him fight. But it was never truly satisfying to Rampart, sure, he was emulating Megatron, but he was still only stuck in one part of his life. He desired change.
- That was when Shockwave contacted him, informing him of Megatron’s return. Shockwave offered him a chance to rescue Megatron, to become something more than just a copy of his idol. Rampart agreed, and became the bodyguard of the Triptych.
- Rampart himself isn’t exactly the smartest cog in the machine. He isn’t an idiot, but his worship of Megatron comes off as rather annoying, especially to Megatron himself. Despite his desire to be like Megatron, Rampart never had the strategic mind of him, which he himself knew. As such, Rampart finds himself following orders the best he can, and smashing lots of things.
- Rampart is armed with his literally patented Rampant Destruction, a massive energy axe he used in pit fighting. He considers it his signature weapon, and makes sure to take it wherever he goes. He is also armed with an Infinite Minigun, both in vehicle and robot mode. In robot mode, its attached to his shoulder, while it forms the tank turret in vehicle mode. It can fire an incredible amount of energy rounds in only a few seconds, but runs out of ammo quickly.
- Seacons:
- Bludgeon
- Alt. mode: Tank
- Bludgeon is the captain of the infamous Seacons, a team of space-faring Decepticons who once worked for Megatron during the second Great War. After a dispute between the two, Bludgeon and his crew broke off, forming their own crew of Space Pirates. However, after an unfortunate accident in an asteroid field, their spaceship, the Neptune II, crashed on Earth, and remained there for millions of years, even before Optimus and Megatron had arrived.
- However, the crew survived, but only barely. Their ship created a massive crater in the Earth’s ocean, and the crew were knocked into stasis. Years later, their power has been recovered, and they continue their search for the greatest treasure in the universe… which just so happens to be on Earth!
- Bludgeon, being the captain of the Seacons, is a commanding and imposing figure, with a face resembling a skull and eyes that can pierce through sparks. However, Bludgeon is surprisingly jolly, and enjoys being around his crew, despite how much some of them don’t like him. He also enjoys drinking fine energon brews, and carries around a bottle wherever he goes, just in case.
- Despite this, Bludgeon is still a functional leader, able to formulate incredible strategies and take on armies with just his six-’bot crew. He’s also a master of the martial art of Metallikato, which heavily uses swords. Because of this, Bludgeon’s main weapon is a steel blade, which he’s refined to a point where it is just as good as cutting through Cybertronian bodies as a newer energy based weapon. He also is armed with a cannon, due to his alternate mode, but he prefers melee combat.
- Snaptrap
- Alt. mode: Robotic Snapping Turtle
- Snaptrap is Bludgeon’s right hand ‘bot, his second in command, and for good reasons. Snaptrap is quiet, calculating, cruel, and powerful, things that can help mediate Bludgeon’s more bombastic personality. Snaptrap, alongside the other four Seacons, are Beastformers who took on the forms of a variety of aquatic life, Snaptrap taking the form of a mechanical turtle.
- Due to how quiet Snaptrap is, only talking in bursts of anger, or to deliver very specific commands, it’s unknown if he is truly loyal to Bludgeon… but the likely answer is yes. Snaptrap was actually saved by Bludgeon during a fight between the Decepticon forces and the Skuxxoids, and as such, Snaptrap declared loyalty to Bludgeon for the rest of his life.
- Snaptrap is armed with dual cannons in both modes, as well as his own cutlass. Part of his shell is also capable of forming into a shield, which is capable of taking incredible amounts of fire before even a single scratch appears.
- Nautilator
- Alt. Mode: Robotic Lobster
- No one likes Nautilator, not even Nautilator himself. The technical newest recruit of the Seacons, Nautilator is lazy, whiny, clumsy, annoying, and just generally a bad time to be around. Nautilator hates fighting, working, and basically anything that requires effort. He thought taking the space crew job would be easy, but he found out the hard way it wasn’t. He wasn’t even trained to swim, let alone designed for it.
- Because of his faults, Nautilator has grown incredibly self-conscious and depressed. He’s given up actually proving himself, and just tries to go about his day as best he can. However, despite the rest of his teammates hating him, Captain Bludgeon still enjoys his company, something that confuses even Nautilator.
- Unfortunately for the rest of the crew, and Nautilator himself, the lobster has an incredible tracking system built into his claws. He’s able to detect energy signature from miles away, making him invaluable to the Seacon’s treasure hunting cause. Like the rest of the Seacons, Nautilator carries a cutlass, but can also form his claws in robot mode to use as additional weapons. Nautilator is also armed with the Triple Crusher Cannon, a cannon that fires an energy net capable of crushing anyone caught in it to death. However, Nautilator prefers to use it with the safety on, turning it into a net gun.
- Skalor
- Alt. Mode: Robotic Coelacanth
- Skalor is a brute. Big and imposing at a glance, there’s not much else going on under that facade to see… but there’s definitely something to smell. Skalor constantly secretes fluids, mostly unknown to both him and his team, but is 100% dangerous to anyone who comes near it. This was a problem he had before coming to Earth, but the millennium of stasis somehow made it even worse.
- Skalor isn’t the brightest of the bunch, and doesn’t mind his mystery fluids. Indeed, despite the complaints from the rest of the Seacons, Skalor’s corrosive secretions come in handy during fights, and have proven their worth even more during their battles on Earth’s seas. Because of all this, Skalor flaunts his stench whenever possible, despite knowing that it grosses everyone out.
- Skalor is armed with a cutlass, as well as a Shard Blaster, a shotgun capable of firing blasts of sharp metal. Uniquely, Skalor is also capable of spewing his corrosive gunk out of his mouth in either mode, and the combination of the metal shards and melting sludge can result in a Cybertronian’s joints locking up. Skalor also loves to throw his impressive weight around.
- Seawing
- Alt. Mode: Robotic Manta Ray
- Seawing is arguably the most intelligent of the Seacons, even more so than Bludgeon and Snaptrap. He’s clever, and uses fear to corral his enemies into submission. His manta ray mode allows him to skim through water, his natural habitat, with ghost-like ease, making him nearly unnoticeable to his current prey. However, Seawing has one major weakness: his own ego.
- Much like the legendarily traitorous Starscream, Seawing wishes to usurp the role of captain from Bludgeon. He waits for a perfect moment of weakness to show, before attempting to strike at the skull-faced captain. None of these have worked, but he’s somehow never been caught… at least, that’s what he thinks. Bludgeon is very aware of Seawing’s attempted treacheries, but doesn’t much care as he’s continued to prove useful. Besides, Bludgeon also knows he could take down the manta ray easily.
- In his alternate mode, Seawing is the only Seacon without any sort of terrestrial mobility option. Instead, he has jets installed in his manta ray form, allowing him to fly through the air. He’s armed with a cutlass, alongside his Venom Injectors, twin sniper rifles that are capable of injecting whoever they hit with a paralyzing venom. Prolonged exposure to the venom can result in metal degradation. His stinger tail, in either mode, can also be used as a weapon.
- Tentakil
- Alt. Mode: Robotic Squid
- Tentakil, from a glance, seems like an oddball. He’s nice, courteous, and even polite during battles. He’s so nice seeming, in fact, that one would wonder why he’s even working with a band of pirates like the Seacons. However, this is a ruse. Tentakil is the most violent and chaotic of the Seacons, using his affable persona to lead unsuspecting victims into his trap. In Cybertron’s distant past, he was considered one of the most dangerous murderers, though his exploits have been lost to history.
- Tentakil loves to strangle and maim others with his tentacle limbs. He loves it so much that he writes down how he killed his victims down in his mental diary. The other Seacons tend to stay away from Tentakil, but he’s also proved himself to be loyal enough for Bludgeon to still treat him like a friend. Tentakil’s tendencies are usually kept secret by the Seacons, as his lures can lead to valuable information.
- Tentakil is armed and dangerous, as he has six powerful tentacles in both modes. These tentacles can extend several times their own length, and are capable of crushing steel with their strongest blow. Tentakil prefers to use them to completely incapacitate his victims, of course. Like the rest of the Seacons, Tentakil is armed with a cutlass, or rather, six cutlasses, one for each of his arms. His tentacles can also disperse a salt-based corrosive, which burns through Cybertronian metal very slowly, but is also incredibly painful.
