She struggled and squirmed as her murderer put their weight against the weapon to drive it deeper into her. Vaggie’s golden-haired lover met her gaze and tried to speak, but choked on her own blood as it began to fill her lungs. She convulsed as the blade was twisted within her, and Vaggie heard a horrible grating sound as seraphic steel ground against bone. Then, Charlie went limp, hanging there like a puppet with all but one of its strings cut.

>Their work done, The Exterminator turned to face her. She wretched as she looked at them. Though they lacked their trademark mask, the dread-angel’s smile was still sickeningly, unnaturally wide. Worse than Alastor’s forever-forced smile, worse than anything she’d seen in her brief, terrible life and afterlife. The grotesque width of the gesture threatened to split their entire skull in twain along the edges of the jagged scar that haphazardly divided their face. They spoke, their smile unbroken.
