It took a little bit of searching out, looking for girls who were just starting to get into the mores of leadership, the ones whom the others flocked around within their own families, and more importantly had skills and aptitudes which you could apply to various activities which were more pressing but ultimately outside of your own directives. Even now a little bit of extra power from you could tip the scales of how they were perceived, pushing them from simply being leaders within their own generation, to becoming a figure the entire clan looked.

That you were the one lending legitimacy in shaping this was itself a boon.

Mother had always told her never to underestimate the power of one who chooses who has the power. In being able to give and remove power, one would find themselves far more capable of manipulating power, without need for all the extra work involved in holding said power directly.
