Battle Mechanics: Attempting to Purify a Non-Consenting Possessed Troll

A Non-Consenting Troll who has been possessed by Horrorterrors is considered to be willingly releasing control to the Horrorterror and therefore will be attacking with Deadly Force. This means that the Horrorterror has a strong control over the Possessed Troll, and Death may occur upon Purification.

If an Attacking Troll has NOT entered into an Angelic Pact eligible for Purifying Horrorterror Influence, the only way to stop the Possession is through killing the Possessed.

Like all Combat, Successful Attacks are decided by the Higher Roll using relevant Modifiers. Purification Battles, however, have a specific set of rules for how to decide the Outcome of the Scene vs normal Combat.

Both Combatants will make a 1d20 Roll, plus relevant Modifiers, and whoever rolls the Highest will succeed in an attack.
On a 11-20 success, the relevant Party must Roll an ADDITIONAL 1d20 with no Modifiers to determine what happens on the Successful Attack:

-If the Attacker rolls a 1-10, the attack leaves no wound
-If the Attacker rolls a 11-19, roll the Relevant 1dX for the Injury Table for the Defendant
-If the Attacker rolls a 20, the Defendant is now Culled

IF the Attacker is attempting to Purify the Defendant, the Rolls are as follows:

-If the Attacker rolls a 11-18, roll the Relevant 1dX for the Injury Table for the Defendant
-If the Attacker rolls a 19, the Defendant is now Purified and free of Horrorterrors
-If the Attacker rolls a 20, the Defendant is now Culled


The only way to end a Purification fight is through the appropriate Criteria being met (The Possessed is now Purified, the Possessed is Culled), the Possessed willingly Submits and allows themselves to be Purified, One or Both Parties Flee the Fight, or the Attacker is Culled.

It's currently Illegal to kill any Parties who present with Horrorterror Rituals or Angelic Pacts if they are not breaking the law and using their powers Unjustly, but doing so is not a cullable offence. Parties involved in killing any person(s) for the sake of a Horrorterror Ritual or an Angelic Pact will face the same punishment as Murder Charges, and may have Lethal Force used against them during Arrest, wherein they will be expected to serve a Jail sentence for their crime.
