  1. Anon was alone. he has had it with being single. He’s been single for at least 5 years. He has no self-confidence at this point. Anon when dating tried to set some standards for himself so he wouldn’t end up in a relationship with the wrong person you see. What anon was looking for was a cute nerdy gamer girlfriend to play children’s card games, play video games, and go to fanatic themed social gatherings with.
  2. At this point in time, Anon is tired of self-loathing in his own depression. It may hurt but he swallows his pride and joins a dating website. In the back of his mind, he cannot help but hate himself for becoming one of those desperate people that uses dating sites to find relationships
  3. Anon never liked the idea of using dating websites before. He believed they were only for the undesirables that have failed the basic human milestone and at life. The window of opportunity is closing for Anon.
  4. Anon becomes too envious to enjoy himself anymore.
  5. He can’t even see a movie without his heart racing at the sight of couples enjoying each other's company.
  6. But the pain of loneliness hurts even more. Anon then had to swallow his pride. he pressed his head to his knees. Knowing he’s going to hate himself.
  7. Anon rubbed his eyes, cracked his neck, and took a deep breath and make an account for the most popular dating site, eShmarmony. He loathes in self-pity looking back on his life thinking of all the things that lead him up to this moment. He looked over the list of women he was matched with and read their names. He thought to himself he needs to cast a wide net so he sent them a smile. Every single woman he was matched with. If you throw enough spaghetti at the wall, eventually some will stick, right?
  8. After that was done, Anon took a break and went to do other things on the information superhighway. Things that a lonely single man could do, looking at wholesome memes. But then a glimmer. Anon received a smile back.
  9. Her name was Emily. She described herself as petite, black and white, vegetarian, family-oriented, comes from a huge family and wishes to have a huge family of her own, and highly conservative. The website didn’t allow you to see photos without a monthly subscription but Anon didn’t mind. He wasn’t a shmuck to pay for that. All he could was to imagine what she looked like. She seemed cute he imagined. Anon then took the second step of eShmarmony.
  10. Sending 5 open-ended questions which he did just that. With that done, Anon played the waiting game again. He didn’t have to wait long. Within about a minute the questions were answered and 5 more questions were sent to anon. Anon read them over and what he read didn’t surprise him for someone that claims to be a very conservative valued woman. She was not willing to hold hands until marriage. Really. Anon being really tired at this point. Just went with the flow. He probably would never see this woman in his life so at least he can have a little bit of fun while he’s at it. But after the 5 questions are sent you wouldn’t be able to talk to your match again unless you pay for the websites overprice service. Anon was smarter than that. He decided to send Emily an encoded message with Anon’s email address so that they can keep communicating afterward. He sent his email and with instructions on how to decode it. Hopefully this way the websites robots won’t check on and delete the address. And it was successfully sent. Anon manage to outsmart the robots. Here’s hoping that Emily is smart enough to figure out the address. And she was.
  11. Anon exchanged a few short greetings. Which she replied as quick. Anon then thought to himself that he could use this opportunity to practice talking to women. It really was the best situation. If things do become awkward he would just stop messaging her and pretend It never happened. And you don’t have to deal with the awkwardness of seeing the other people in public. So he asked basic questions to get to know her better. He asked what her favorite anime and video game was.
  12. Emily replied saying she doesn’t watch anime or play video games. But she watches her younger siblings play them. This went back and forth with every reply mentioning something about her family. She rarely watched television and was always in bed by 10 pm. She said she would invest herself in a great novel and garden.
  13. Anon couldn’t really understand. But, this was the first non-related female he has spoken to in ages. She seemed to be mildly interested in Anon as well. Which was weird to him. He never had a person of the opposite sex ask about him. Out of nowhere the girl he was talking to dropped a bombed and asked anon if he would be willing to meet her in person to get something to eat.
  14. Anon had to take a minute. He needed to think. A girl just asked him out on a date.
  15. Not even a minute later Emily messaged back asking if anon was still there and if anon was worried about not having money. She ensured anon that her dad would give her some money to go on a date with so he didn’t need to pay she specified.
  16. What did anon have to lose? A free meal with a cute petite half black girl won’t be so bad. So he agreed. They agreed to meet the next day which seemed pretty fast to him. But it was all fine. It’s past her bedtime to they said their goodbyes and they would be each other tomorrow.
  17. Tomorrow came and anon made sure to bathe, brush his teeth and put on deodorant. Because today was his date with Emily. a girl he just met online a day ago. She said to meet at a local casual Italian restaurant. It was quite an expensive place. Anon should have felt bad about taking advantage of Emily and the situation. to go but she did say she would pay. He would take this opportunity to satisfy his palette. He dawned his one and only suit and got into his car and drove to the restaurant.
  18. Anon arrived before Emily did so he decided to wait on a bench in front of the restaurant. He was contemplating that she should be able to find him. He told her what car he would be driving and what he would be wearing. He then saw a small white coupe pull into the parking lot. And parked near the entrance. And out stepped a bunny girl and the bunny girl called out “Umm, Anon?”
  19. Anon stood up from the bench. “Umm, Emily?”
  20. “Yes. Hi!” she replied. Anon was in shock. Emily was a rabbit. It all slowly started to make sense to him. Everything she told anon was the truth. She was indeed half black and white and petite was right No taller than his stomach. Emily wore a very conservative flower-patterned dress. She indeed looked quite cute to anon. Emily then walked up to the front door of the restaurant to anon.
  21. “h-hi Emily how are you?” anon said.
  22. “I’m doing fine. I didn’t think I would be able to find you. But I did.”
  23. She complimented on Anon’s sharp-looking suit and that he was very well dressed. “I like it when I see a man that knows how to dress”
  24. He awkwardly thanked her even though the suit is practically the only thing that he ever wears. So Anon being polite he complimented her dress. “OH thank you! I bet it’s a bit surprising to see a girl to dress modestly.”
  25. Anon was mentally confused about what Emily just said. Mentally asking himself what is he talking about. But it was time to go inside and have dinner. Emily walked in front and stood near the door and instinctively Anon opened the door for her to let her in first. “Thanks for getting the door for me! You know it’s rare to see chivalry in this day in age.”
  26. Anon was really confused by now. Chivalry what? He was just doing something nice and holding the door for someone. He didn’t have time to ponder about it they have to get to their reservation.
  27. Emily and anon walked up to the front desk and waited for the hostess to seat them. Emily and Anon just stood silently waiting. To break the silence anon continued her conversation.
  28.
  29. “It’s so bad how boys and girls today dress so trashy. With saggy pants and tops that don’t leave much to the imagination.” Anon really didn’t know how to comment on that. People’s attire never bothered him in the least. So Anon again awkwardly replied “yeah…”
  30. The hostess finally arrived and led them to their table. Emily and Anon both sat down and were handing their menus. “The waitress will be right with you.” She said and left.
  31. They both looked over the menu. Since this was a special occasion (and because Emily offered to pay) he would decide to get the restaurant's meat lovers pizza. The waitress arrived and asked Anon and Emily what they would like to drink.
  32. “Oh. I’ll just have water thanks.” Emily said
  33. “And what would you like?” the waitress asked anon.
  34. Anon replied. “I would like a conk please.”
  35. “Is Pebis okay?” the waitress asked.
  36. Anon died a little inside the fact that he had to lower his standard and settle for something inferior almost made him dizzy. With a heavy sigh, Anon replied “Yeah…”
  37. “Okay, I will bring you your drinks and give you two a minute to decide.” And then the waitress left.
  38. “You know you should really drink water. Pebis is just bad for you. Do you know what it does to your insides?” Emily quipped. Anon is now more confused than he has ever been today. What is this rabbit girl trying to do? What is she trying to mother him? She was explaining to him about all the negative effects of soda and what it does. Anon needed to change the subject.
  39. “Would you like to get an appetizer? How about some garlic bread”
  40. “Yeah that would be fine” Emily replied.
  41. The waitress returned with their drinks. Water for Emily and pebis for anon. the waitress asked them what they will be having.
  42. “I would like the Melanzane Alla Parmigiana please.”
  43. “And for you?”
  44. “I would like the 12-inch meat lovers’ pizza,” Anon replied.
  45. Emily interjected. “Why don’t you order something healthier? Like something from their vegetarian menu?”
  46. Anon thought to himself is she being controlling? He had to stand up for himself. So he explained.
  47. “Well, it’s the only thing that I saw on the menu and would be able to finish. I wouldn’t want to order something and not finish because I didn’t like it.”
  48. She looked defeated but she kept an eye on anon.
  49. “Okay, I will put that in for you and be back with your app.”
  50. The wait then left leaving anon alone with Emily again. Sitting in silence anon needed to get this done and out of the way he needed to address the elephant in the room.
  51. “So.. Emily. You’re a rabbit…”
  52. “is that a problem?”
  53. “No! No., not a problem just a bit surprising. Just from how you described yourself… no problem at all.”
  54. “Well, I wasn’t lying to you.”
  55. “No, you weren’t.”
  56. Then more silence. Anon thought to himself that he ruined the entire date already. Hating himself. Anon kept noticing she was looking down at the table with her hands on her lap. so he asked her another question.
  57. “So where do you work?”
  58. “I don’t work. I’m going to nursing school while living at home. How about you?”
  59. “Ohh umm… I’m currently looking for employment while I’m living with my grandma taking care of her.”
  60. “ahh okay.”
  61. Back to the silence between them. Then anon heard what sounded like a thumping noise. It was coming from Emily. Anon leaned slightly to his right to get a peek at Emily nervously bouncing her leg. Anon felt concern for Emily.
  62.
  63. “how you doing?” anon asked.
  64. “Ohh I’m a little nervous really.” Emily replied
  65. “ooh? Why’s that?”
  66. “oh, it’s that I’ve never really been on a proper date with anyone before,” Emily answered.
  67. “You’ve never been on a proper date before?” anon said shockingly as Emily looked at anon. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones because anon has never been on a proper date either. He’s been out with other girls before but it’s always been revealed later that they were just friendly gatherings. Never out of romantic interest to find a potential spouse. They always ended up breaking his heart and wasting his time and money.
  68. “There’s nothing to be nervous about. There’s nothing you can do wrong. We’re just two people going out to dinner together and to enjoy each other’s company. It’s a lot less worrying if you say it like that!”
  69. Emily’s eye lit up at anon’s comforting words. There was one thing that anon was good at. Even though nobody bothered him or his emotions, he always knew how to cheer someone up and tell them exactly what they needed to hear.
  70. Emily smiled at anon and Anon smiled at Emily. They began to talk about their hobbies and life and before they knew it, their appetizer arrived. They both ate their breadsticks and anon and Emily talked even more and lost track of time because their dinner arrived as well.
  71. They ate, they laughed, and they enjoyed each other’s company. The bill came and anon reluctantly pulls out cash to pay the bill. She handed the waiter the amount and some for a tip and told her to keep it.
  72. “Okay let’s go,” Emily told anon.
  73. Emily and Anon were at the door and anon once again got the door for her to go outside. She stood outside for a second, looked at anon and ask. “Did you enjoy dinner?”
  74. “Y-yeah…yeah. It was good. I enjoyed it. I had fun.” said anon.
  75. “So then do you want to go to the movies this weekend?” Emily boldly asked anon.
  76. “You want to go out again?” anon was confused. He never had anyone say this to him. He stopped for a second to think about all his actions today. He didn’t do anything special. He was stumped. Why was she asking him out again? Was she just as desperate as anon?
  77. “Yeah, I would. There’s this movie that I wanted to go see what's playing. You don’t have to worry about paying I’ll pay for it. You said you were struggling with work and don’t have much money. I just want you do come with me.”
  78. Anon's eyes widen. She was paying attention to what he was saying. It was enough that anon needed to hug her.
  79. “Wow. Umm.. Thanks, Emily. Thank you.”
  80. Anon then went to embrace her with a hug. Emily put her hands out to stop him.
  81. “OH! Umm… sorry, anon. I don’t hug on the first date.”
  82. Anon had a look of visible confusion. She doesn’t hug on the first date?
  83. Well, they had to say their goodbyes.
  84.
  85. “see you later anon. I’ll email you later about the movies to get your address so I can pick you up”
  86. She then got to the car, waved goodbye to anon and started to leave.
  87. Anon then watched her drive out of the parking lot passed him and anon stood there and waved her goodbye.
