  1. Got a specific error message? Take a look at the errorcodes page.
  2.
  3. If your data isn't working properly, go down this checklist:
  4.
  5. Don't torrent and play from the same data
  6.
  7. Are you running the game from the same folder in which you downloaded it? If you're still seeding the torrent (which you should be) you need to copy the data over to a new folder. Torrent clients will overwrite any changes you make to the data (such as adding a PCBID) and possibly lock files.
  8.
  9. Check your cardfile
  10.
  11. Have you created a cardfile.txt containing only a 16 character hexadecimal ID beginning with E004? Is that file selected in Bemanitools? Make sure that there are no extra characters or spaces in the file. Try copying the ID in to a new file.
  12.
  13. A valid PSun ID starts with E004 and contains an additional 12 characters after that, only 0-9 and A-F. Right-click on the file and hit "Properties", and you should see the size as 16 bytes.
  14.
  15. Unset read-only
  16.
  17. Is the folder set as read-only? If so, unset read only. Also, if Windows has "blocked" any files (see http://i.imgur.com/XlxqkSP.png) click Unblock.
  18.
  19. Run as admin
  20.
  21. Make sure that launcher.exe is set to "Run as Admin" under Compatibility of the .exe properties.
  22.
  23. Check ea3-config
  24.
  25. Have you edited your ea3-config.xml? You need to change the network services URL and enter a valid PCBID. You can get a valid PCBID from a Programmed Sun operator account. The PSun operator portal is at http://ctrl.programmedsun.com/login
  26.
  27. Make sure there are no spaces between the services tags and the URL, and make sure there's no slash ("/") at the end of the URL.
  28.
  29. Like this:
  30. <services>http://svc.programmedsun.com/v2/core</services>
  31.
  32. Not this:
  33. <services>http://svc.programmedsun.com/v2/core </services>
  34. <services> http://svc.programmedsun.com/v2/core</services>
  35. <services>http://svc.programmedsun.com/v2/core/</services>
  36.
  37. Only use one network adapter
  38.
  39. Go in to Device Manager and disable all but one network adapter (the one which you're using to connect to the Internet, obviously). Also check for and disable hidden network adapters in Device Manager (select “Show hidden devices” in the view menu). The network adapter must have a connection and an IP assigned, even if you are not connecting to an external server.
  40.
  41. * if you REALLY need more than one network adapter, try to follow this guide to change the network connection priority.
  42.
  43. Use Ethernet
  44.
  45. Are you using a Wi-Fi connection? Arcade data tends to not like wireless connections.
  46.
  47. Check your firewall
  48.
  49. Has Windows Firewall/your firewall software of choice blocked the data? Windows Firewall typically issues a pop-up right after the game goes fullscreen, so you only see it after you've closed the game.
  50.
  51. If you are at a University, business or on a large network, Programmed Sun may be blocked in a strange way. This manifests in the game booting and playing fine but card input not working and a generic e-amusement error across the title screen.
  52.
  53. Check your resolution
  54.
  55. Make sure that the monitor and system you are running the game on is capable of displaying the game's native resolution. No matter what resolution your PC is set to, the game will (attempt to) force its own resolution. If it fails, the game will crash.
  56.
  57. Native resolutions by game
  58.
  59. IIDX 20/21/22: 1280x720
  60. IIDX 19 and before: 640x480 (but stretched, on a widescreen monitor/CRT)
  61. Pop'n Music 19-21: 1366x768
  62. SDVX/SDVX II: 720x1280 (720p rotated 90 degrees)
  63. jubeat saucer: 768x1366 (rotated 90 degrees)
  64. Reflec Beat colette: 1080x1920 (1080p rotated 90 degrees)
  65. (please add to this list)
  66.
  67. Check audio outputs
  68.
  69. Pop'n Music in particular has issues with audio outputs such as front headphone ports and HDMI audio. Disable unused outputs and try them all one by one. For desktops, the rear audio ports are most reliable while for a lot of laptops, only speakers seem to work.
  70.
  71. Check GPU drivers
  72.
  73. Use recommended drivers for your GPU of choice (the drivers with the least issues are usually those that are released at the same time, if not slightly before, the game itself)
  74.
  75. Check GPU compatibility
  76.
  77. Your GPU may have some issues or not be powerful enough, check the compatibility list and add your experience to it either way.
  78.
  79. For games with online multiplayer only
  80.
  81. Have you forwarded the port you specified in the PSun operator portal when you generated the PCBID to your PC? If not, log in to your router's settings page and forward that port to your PC. How this is done exactly depends on your model of router. If you somehow have a direct connection to the Internet (probably not), this doesn't apply. The port should be within the range 50000-65535. (It doesn't have to be, but this minimizes the possibility of conflicts with other software.)
  82.
  83. DDR specific issues
  84.
  85. If launcher.exe throws "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002)" you need to install the latest 2005 C++ Runtime from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26347
  86.
  87. Switch OS?!
  88.
  89. Bemani games are made to run on exactly one hardware configuration (okay, maybe a few, depending on the game). You'll get the best performance by running the game on the OS it was designed for.
