  1. <Darkling> Only three days have passed since the pilots have returned to the Berlin Geodome. In that time, they've learned that there appears to be a new curfew in effect, and stricter access to the base as well. Things seem to be tightening like a snake coiled to attack as each day passes.
  2. <Darkling> Today the pilots find themselves looking at a misty day outside that is starting to clear. The weather systems are fully functional again it seems. Lit has something planned for them, but has yet to explain what. Since the pilots are no longer allowed on base grounds without it being an emergency and the school still in ruins, they have nothing to really do except wait for him to reveal it.
  3. Rasia yawns wide, pawing at her eye and growling lazily.
  4. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja looks both tense and disappointed. Fog is nice, and being outdoors has distracted her from whatever it is she's been keeping herself busy with in her room lately.
  5. Wilhelm_Faustus reads, chin in his hand.
  6. Rasia walks an impatient circle or two, opting to bother Lahja a little.
  7. Corrin paces back and forth, gait still unsteady. He doesn't like this any more than the last time fog hit, but moving about is a welcome distraction.
  8. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Need something, Rasia?" Lahja asks, seeming distracted.
  9. <Rasia> "Play?"
  10. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja hesitates a few moments, then takes the scissors and spoon out of her hair and manages a forced smile. "What have you got in mind? Running in circles around Corrin until we make a tornado that sends him flying?"
  11. <Darkling> Lit's been busy going back from his office, to the kitchen, to the washroom, preparing different things. He looks a lot better, with whatever it is on his mind, than he has recently.
  12. <Rasia> Rasia seems to consider it, eventually nodding.
  13. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Circles it is. She places the scissors and spoon aside, and then she dashes off to run circles around Corrin.
  14. Rasia gives chase, instinct taking over. Lahja might feel a few swatting grabs.
  15. <Wilhelm_Faustus> The Aryan's book lowers, a title on military tactics this evening.
  16. <Darkling> "Careful or you'll give him motion sickness.." Lit jokes as he rushes between rooms again.
  17. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I'm being chased by a wild Rasia. What do you do when that happens, Wilhelm?" Lahja asks as she runs, going a little faster after taking a swat or two.
  18. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Surrender. She'll nibble for a bit."
  19. Corrin looks over towards the others at the sudden conversation.
  20. Rasia keeps pace easily, letting Lahja gain a little lead before catching up, swatting, and backing off.
  21. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I may have to surrender. It's better than getting puked on. Do you feel nauseous yet, Corrin?" Lahja asks, managing some small amusement.
  22. <Darkling> Lit comes back out with two duffel bags, setting them down by the elevator door.
  23. <Rasia> Right on cue, Rasia stops, staring at the duffels in rapt attention.
  24. <Corrin> "Nah." Corrin replies, with much the same forced cheer. "Not unless we're having ratburgers."
  25. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja doesn't notice the bags at first, continuing to run... away from Corrin now.
  26. <Wilhelm_Faustus> The pale boy stands up and disappears for his room.
  27. <Darkling> "I'm sure you're all wondering what I have planned for today."
  28. Rasia nods!
  29. <Corrin> "Tag, huh?" Corrin manages a grin, belatedly starts to give chase, then stumbles. "Sir?"
  30. <Darkling> "So I'm not going to tell you." He grins at his own cleverness. "But we are leaving, so get ready."
  31. <Rasia> "Wilhelm?"
  32. <Rasia> Rasia points at his room.
  33. Corrin skids to a stop, turning to look at Lit. Or rather by Lit. A brief scowl at their Director's second line. "Yes, sir."
  34. <Wilhelm_Faustus> The Aryan reappears with some stuff in his arms.
  35. Rasia :3
  36. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja goes off to collect her scissors and spoon, then sticks them in her hair again. Then she's off to her room. "I'll only be a few minutes."
  37. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Map." He helps up a manilla folder before putting it down on the table.
  38. <Wilhelm_Faustus> holds*
  39. <Darkling> Lit raises an eyebrow at Wilhelm. "A map to where?"
  40. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He puts down his lockbox next, opening it with a key.
  41. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "A map of the base."
  42. <Darkling> "We don't need that where we are going."
  43. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "We will eventually." He pulls out a flash drive that he snaps in half, then locks the box back up.
  44. <Lahja_Ilvainen> True to her word Lahja comes back with only a small bag. She's got for a change of clothing, too. Black pants and a shirt to match. "I'm ready."
  45. Rasia cocks her head, clearly unsure how to parse that little exchange.
  46. Corrin just stands back, watching in silence.
  47. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "So just where are we going?"
  48. <Darkling> Lit shrugs and calls the elevator up, getting the bags inside.
  49. Rasia pouts, following Lit in.
  50. Wilhelm_Faustus follows next.
  51. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I have presents for some of you when we get there." Lahja says as she follows along, her own bag in hand. "The rest of you will have to wait until I can get some more coat hangers."
  52. Corrin looks to the others, and follows, suddenly tense. And not just because of Lahja's declaration.
  53. <Darkling> Down they go, he loads them into the APC and climbs in the front, heading off to their unknown destination.
  54. <Darkling> About ten minutes into the drive the window separating the back from the front opens, Lit looks back. "Why so serious you guys?"
  55. <Rasia> "Confused!"
  56. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja looks at Lit like he's crazy. "I have a spoon in my hair and you say I'm serious?" she asks flatly.
  57. <Darkling> "A little too serious," he comments.
  58. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "I'm always whimsical, couldn't you tell?"
  59. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I won't sour the mood for everyone else."
  60. <Darkling> Lit turns the radio on, getting some music playing through the APC. "We're almost there."
  61. Corrin looks to Lahja, brow furrowing, then back to Lit. "Sir, does anyone else know about this?"
  62. <Darkling> "Nope."
  63. Rasia blinks, eyes widening.
  64. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A blonde head of hair rests on a Israeli shoulder.
  65. <Rasia> --Ah. Rasia turns her head to nuzzle it, wrapping an arm around him and leaning forward to read his face.
  66. <Darkling> A few bumps in the road sends the pilots bouncing around in the back.
  67. <Darkling> Then the APC comes to a halt, Lit exits and opens the back up.
  68. <Darkling> "We've arrived."
  69. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He steals a peck on her cheek when she looks, then stands.
  70. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja stands and exits the APC, looking around.
  71. Rasia clambers out third, senses alert.
  72. Corrin follows the others out, slightly wary.
  73. <Darkling> The APC and the pilots are in the middle of a parking lot. It's not overly large, but big for one inside the dome. Not far off is an admission gate to a small amusement park. It looks to be devoid of most of the public, but there are some workers and random people to be seen.
  74. Corrin blinks. "Sir?"
  75. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Huh."
  76. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "This...?" Lahja stares at the park, twitching a bit.
  77. <Darkling> "Well, I figured we wouldn't get a chance to have fun for awhile, or not at all, in the coming future..." He seems happy at first, but stating this seems to sour his mood.
  78. Rasia purses her lips tight, but forces a smile for Lit.
  79. <Darkling> He grabs one of the duffle bags out of the APC, leaving the other inside and closes the doors. "I know it isn't much, but we will have to make the best of it."
  80. Corrin blinks, then again, watching Lit. This parking lot is dusty. That's it. He swallows. "Thank you. Sir."
  81. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "You win the first prize of the day, sir." Lahja says as she unzips her own bag and rummages around in it.
  82. <Darkling> "Eh?" he looks surprised by this.
  83. Rasia cocks her head, splitting attention between Lahja and the amusement park.
  84. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja tosses a strange doll at Lit. It's a mass of bandages on a frame of coat hangers, primarily held together by scotch tape and safety pins. Judging from the gashes in its face and the beard it's probably supposed to be Lit. Or a tentacle faced alien.
  85. <Darkling> He catches it and twists his face a little looking at it, most likely trying to figure out the heck it is. "Thanks Lahja." His smile is genuine.
  86. <Darkling> He picks up the duffel bag again, "Come on, let's have a good day." Then heads for the gate.
  87. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja offers a lazy salute in return before zipping up the bag and following along.
  88. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A look around the parking lot and the Aryan takes the Israeli's hand before following.
  89. Corrin keeps up, looking ahead to Lahja and Lit.
  90. Rasia jogs along, smiling wide.
  91. <Darkling> Inside the park, there is a single roller coaster, currently clacking away as a car heads to the highest peak on it. A wave pool with some slides leading into it, a carousel, a few games and other small rides, and a small petting zoo with a lonesome llama.
  92. <Rasia> "Small," Rasia comments, not that she's in any position to talk about what amusement parks look like.
  93. <Darkling> "True, but it's all that fits in the dome." Lit seems pleased at least. He heads over to a picnic table and sets down the duffel bag.
  94. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja nods in agreement. Though underwhelmed she hides it well enough, aided by a long look at the llama.
  95. Rasia jogs over, curious to see what Lit brought, her eyes constantly drifting over to that wavepool, and then to the roller coaster.
  96. Corrin squints at the Llama for a moment too, then shrugs and looks to Lit. "Need a hand, sir?"
  97. <Wilhelm_Faustus> So this is an amusement park. Damn, still hot.
  98. <Darkling> Inside the bag he has some change of clothes for the pilots, including swimwear, and the rest of the bag is filled by a lunch he's been busy preparing all morning.
  99. <Darkling> "I just want you guys to enjoy yourselves."
  100. Rasia sniffs at the lunch, licking her chops a bit.
  101. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A pale arm grabs his suit from the bag and wanders off to change.
  102. <Darkling> There's sandwiches galore, from eggsalad to tuna or coldcuts, a bunch of side salads, boxes of juice and cans of cola, plenty of fruit and raw vegetables...
  103. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja holds back a comment and puts on a smile that might not be entirely forced. It's short, and she looks to the food and then back to the llama.
  104. Rasia snatches up a sammich and munches away, opting to change right where she stands into that red one piece of hers. Some things never change.
  105. <Darkling> A familiar face sits down at the table, Vaettir. He's been around an awful lot since the pilots got back.
  106. Corrin blinks, and turns his head. Look at the llama. Look at it. His head jerks back around at the newcomer's arrival, though.
  107. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He gets a quiet stare as Wilhelm reappears, not sure what to make of his 'contact.'
  108. Rasia frowns at Vaettir, her shoulder straps snapping into place.
  109. <Corrin> "What are you doing here?" Corrin demands after a momentary silence.
  110. <Darkling> "Oh, don't mind me. Me and the big guy here have business to discuss." He smiles his razor thin smile.
  111. <Darkling> "Go enjoy yourself Corrin and relax. There's no conspiracies here except for the games." Lit jokes.
  112. Corrin nods.
  113. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "We need to talk later, Vaettir."
  114. <Darkling> "Oh, of course we do."
  115. <Darkling> Some kids are waving at the pilots, looks like someone from school.
  116. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A nod and he leaves for the wave pool, rubbing at the lines appearing on his chest.
  117. Rasia chases after Wilhelm, grabbing around his waist and lifting him up to speed their travel.
  118. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "W-whoa!"
  119. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja waves absently in return, distracted since Vaettir came about but otherwise not paying much attention to him. Perhaps this is the power of the llama.
  120. Corrin watches the pair head off, then tries to follow what Lahja's looking at.
  121. <Darkling> The group that waved move out of the way of the charging Rasia, then head into the wavepool after them.
  122. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Do you think it's dangerous?" Lahja asks Corrin.
  123. <Rasia> Wilhelm, she wouldn't. She couldn't. It looks like... She would. She is. Leaping off the edge, Rasia carries her Aryan through a cannonball into the deep end of the wave pool.
  124. <Darkling> Looks like a worker was going to say 'no running' but thought better of it.
  125. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He lights up brighter then deeper they sink, doing his best to release air slowly. Rasia gets her rear groped with a wink from her Aryan.
  126. Corrin shrugs, ignoring the splash. "Looks a bit stupid."
  127. <Darkling> The llama regards you with the same look you're giving it Corrin.
  128. Rasia gives his lines a curious poke, letting him go once it looks like he's struggling for air.
  129. Corrin scowls at it.
  130. <Wilhelm_Faustus> She slicks his hair back out of his eyes once he surfaces, peering around at the others.
  131. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I don't know about that." Lahja says in a skeptical tone. "Maybe you should pet it and make a friend?"
  132. <Darkling> Lit seems to be busy talking business with Vaettir, and they have some papers strewn out on the table.
  133. Rasia swims off, prowling under the water to terrorize the other pool-goers.
  134. <Darkling> There's some more splashing in the wave pool as a trio of girls play idly, and a scream as the roller coaster whizzes past.
  135. Corrin sighs. "Worth a try, I guess." He glances around at the park, then jogs towards the llama.
  136. Rasia grabs a foot!
  137. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja follows along, nabbing a celery stick and snacking on it on the way.
  138. <Darkling> A quickly cut-off scream from one of the girls as she goes under, the other two go wide eyed.
  139. Rasia can't help but smile playfully before letting her go. Hmm, is this psychologically good for her...
  140. <Darkling> The girl scrambles to the surface and tries to make a mad dash for the edge of the pool.
  141. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Don't mind her, she just wants to play." He calls over.
  142. Rasia surfaces as even her lungs run out, practically beaming.
  143. <Darkling> The girl stops, looking back at Rasia. She gives a shout, then you recognize the dyed hair. That was Penelope you just terrified.
  144. Corrin scowls at the llama again, trying to remember from textbooks what they act like. They're not cats like Hel...definitely not rats... "Sit." he barks experimentally at the llama.
  145. Rasia blinks, cocking her head. "Hey."
  146. <Darkling> The llama chews grass intently, staring back.
  147. <Darkling> Penelope offers a wave back, Brina and Icelin coming over to see if she's alright.
  148. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja reaches out to pet the llama with her free hand, taking another bite out of the celery stick. It couldn't be more obvious that there are wheels turning in her head now.
  149. <Darkling> The llama doesn't move noticeably, but it doesn't resist getting pet. It's dull eyes move to the celery stalk.
  150. <Rasia> Wait a minute, didn't these girls...
  151. <Darkling> They look fairly good, considering the last time you saw them.
  152. <Corrin> "It likes you." Corrin comments absently.
  153. Rasia wades to join the other three girls, sniffing them.
  154. <Darkling> "Um, hi, R-Rasia, right?" Icelin says as she approaches.
  155. <Lahja_Ilvainen> The smile on Lahja's face is nothing short of terrifying. "Most people do like me for some reason I haven't really figured out."
  156. <Rasia> "Rasia." She nods, pointing to herself.
  157. <Darkling> They look past you at the glowing Wilhelm, then back to you. "We haven't seen you guys in awhile.."
  158. Rasia nods again, peering close. "Not hurt?"
  159. <Darkling> An uneasy look passes between them, obviously not something they like remembering. "We're okay."
  160. <Darkling> The llama continues to look at you with passive contempt Corrin.
  161. Rasia looks back at Wilhelm inquisitively.
  162. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He's hanging back so she can socialize.
  163. <Rasia> Damn. Back to the girls. "Good. Happy." She manages a smile, unsure why.
  164. <Darkling> "That's good. What have you been doing?"
  165. <Rasia> ... Rasia considers her answer carefully. "Fighting. Bad people."
  166. <Darkling> Penelope leans in a bit, whispering. "Is it true what they say? The whole school thing was about you guys, and you're super spies for the government?"
  167. <Darkling> "Don't be an idiot Pen," Brina scolds.
  168. Rasia giggles.
  169. <Darkling> Another familiar face waddles up beside Corrin, a fat hand sticking out to the llama then moving away in a jerk as the llama tries to bite it.
  170. <Rasia> "Play?" Rasia splashes at the water, as it starts to churn.
  171. <Corrin> "First smart thing this animal's done." Corrin comments idly, then looks to Lahja. "Look, Lahja...what you said earlier. I don't think that's true. You.." Losing his train of thought, Corrin covers for it by glaring at the llama. "You are a good person. You are, or-" he's interupted by the sudden jerk.
  172. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I know. I'm pretty and I like shooting things." Lahja says in an annoyed tone, though she's covered up the bulk of it. Then when Grundy comes around she quickly adds "And I'm thinking of sacrificing you."
  173. Corrin shakes his head, then blinks at the newcomer. "Grundi?"
  174. <Darkling> He stills smells like sausage, some things never change. "Oh, hello you two." He says, looking a bit horrified he almost lost his stubby fingers.
  175. <Darkling> "So, what are you guys doing here?" Brina asks, hands going onto her hips, ignoring Rasia's attempt to play with them.
  176. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Hello." Lahja says calmly, pondering her former classmate as a sacrifice.
  177. <Corrin> "Yes. Hello." Corrin says, a bit flatly.
  178. <Darkling> "Sorry, I just wanted to pet it..." He shuffles off under Corrins gaze.
  179. <Rasia> "Playing! Relaxing." Rasia gestures to her copilots.
  180. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "You know, he could have been useful." Lahja says as she very carefully offers the celery stick to the llama. "Still could be."
  181. <Darkling> The llama takes the offering.
  182. <Darkling> "I guess that makes sense." Brina says. "You're pal over there is pretty anti-social now though."
  183. Rasia puckers her lips, looking over at Wilhelm, and back to the girls. "Wilhelm mine."
  184. Corrin finally just shrugs. "Want me to bring him back?"
  185. <Darkling> "Riiiight." She says. "We'll uh, leave you to him then." They start to head off, Icelin offering a small wave.
  186. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I'm just thinking..." Lahja drops her tone down to a whisper. "If we rub him against your arm, or maybe he can just breathe on it for a bit, you can hold your arm out to our furry friend here. Then when you've got a big bruise or you're gushing blood from your arm you can run back to Lit and you'll have an excuse to discreetly glance at those papers."
  187. Rasia blinks, waving in reply, before wading back to him as suggested. If they don't want to play...
  188. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He floats, hands behind his head. "Their loss."
  189. <Darkling> They head off for the rollercoaster.
  190. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "C'mon." He rolls over and dives under the water, swimming off as he expects her to give chase.
  191. <Rasia> ! And she does, slipping down and surging forward to fight the rolling waves.
  192. Corrin blinks a few times as he processes that, then just scowls. "Why are we working with him? Not Lit, him."
  193. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He's not quite as good at swimming as she is, but his thin form makes it easy to dodge and tease her, heading for shallow water.
  194. <Rasia> Grab, grab! He can feel the water swirling as she nears on her prey.
  195. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Lit probably has something in mind. But I think this guy is the sort of person who can tell the truth and still mislead people. Anyway, I don't see much point in going over why. Do you want to go along with this? Or do you have a better idea?"
  196. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Might as well surrender, Wilhelm, she has you now. She's just toying with her prey.
  197. <Darkling> Lit and Vaettir look in a heated discussion, pointing at the papers and making notes. Soem of the food has been set out and Lit's been eating away at it.
  198. <Rasia> She even bites his ankle, lightly, and lets him go to drive the point home. Though the shallow water has her surfacing.
  199. <Wilhelm_Faustus> In a bold move he surges forward to tackle the shark-like girl in what could be one of her natural environments.
  200. <Rasia> "Ah!" Down she goes, wriggling and splashing.
  201. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Just like she bit his ankle, he bites her shoulder teasingly.
  202. <Corrin> "Better idea." Corrin looks up abruptly as inspiration strikes. "I punch him. Keep him distracted while you get the papers. Brain damage." A humourless grin.
  203. <Rasia> Ow~ Grabbing the Aryan behind her, she surfaces again.
  204. Corrin looks to Lahja, then stalks towards Lit and the white-suited man.
  205. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Enjoying yourself?" He slicks his hair back again.
  206. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I don't think Lit would like that very much. Just try to act casual and more interested in the food." Lahja says before following along.
  207. <Darkling> Both Lit and Vaettir look up from what they were doing as Corrin and Lahja approach.
  208. Rasia nods firmly, before setting him down and grabbing his arms. "Kids okay. Why?"
  209. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Their lives are different from ours. There's a certain...buffer zone...between themselves and tragedy. Is that what you mean?"
  210. Rasia blinks, frowning. "Eaten. Then not eaten."
  211. <Corrin> "Sir." Corrin says to Lit. Just a scowl for Vaettir.
  212. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Oh. Some managed to escape, that's all."
  213. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Or so I assume. I have no actual memories of the incident."
  214. <Darkling> "Something up Corrin?" He asks.
  215. <Rasia> "..." Right. A soft sigh. "Wilhelm weird." And her arms wrap around him.
  216. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Weird, is it?" He caresses her cheek.
  217. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja turns her attentions to her own bag, rummaging through it before looking to Lit and Vaettir. Sure enough she's acting pretty casual. "Something is up, but it probably falls under the category of too much information."
  218. <Rasia> "Yes." A huff, her eye darting over to the food table.
  219. <Darkling> He finishes the sandwich in his hand. You might notice they aren't bothering to cover up the papers.
  220. <Corrin> Corrin shrugs, looking between the two. "Just got hungry, sir."
  221. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Hungry? Let's go." He kisses forehead and makes for the ladder to climb out.
  222. <Darkling> "You're a terrible liar Corrin. Talk to me."
  223. <Rasia> Rasia's close behind, adjusting her swimwear on the way over.
  224. Corrin just drops his head. "It's just..." He's not a good staller either. Not when talking to Lit. "It's nothing, sir. Sorry." He steps back. Hopefully Lahja got a better look at the papers.
  225. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja stops her rummaging, taking a quick look in the direction of the papers before looking to Corrin. She pulls something out of her bag, making some effort at hiding it. But to the keen eyed and curious, it's some manner of feminine hygiene product.
  226. <Darkling> "You don't have to spy on us Lahja." Vaettir says with a sly smile. "We're doing this in the open on purpose.
  227. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja sends Vaettir a salute, seeming a little amused. "I'm curious now."
  228. <Corrin> "Why?" Corrin interjects.
  229. <Darkling> "Why not? You have no idea the extent of the surveillance NERV has about the city. No matter where we are, and try to hide, they'll likely find out what we are planning, so we do it in the open instead. Plus, you get a field trip out of it."
  230. <Darkling> You'll notice on the papers and the map of the base they have, all the markings are already inside the base, and there's no note on how they were getting in to begin with.
  231. Rasia tiiilts her head.
  232. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja nods, then gives the papers a more thorough looking. "That makes sense. At times I've wondered if I had a listening device or a bomb or something implanted in me, so I can't exactly say I'm surprised."
  233. <Darkling> "Well, not implanted in you." He jests. "Either way, they're likely expecting something. They always are." Did he cast a glance skywards?
  234. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Entry?"
  235. <Corrin> "Who's they?"
  236. <Darkling> "Not an issue." Lit states. "The main problem is getting down into the base."
  237. <Darkling> "You're too young to be so paranoid." Vaettir says, dismissing Corrin.
  238. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "What about here?" He points, then slides his finger along the map.
  239. <Darkling> "Like I said, entry isn't an issue." Lit says. "We have that covered already."
  240. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He stared at the map, wondering what they had planned.
  241. Corrin clenches his jaw, then nods at Lit's last comment. NERV still does need pilots, right?
  242. <Darkling> "What we need to do is get past the fifty odd floors down to the basement. Even I don't have clearance to just walk in there."
  243. Rasia taps her lip, leaning forward.
  244. <Rasia> Think, Rasia. Why would an animal let you into its den...
  245. <Darkling> "While we could easily use the Aesir to do this, holding the control area so they don't just shut them down is another problem."
  246. Corrin closes his mouth again.
  247. <Rasia> "...Jotunn?"
  248. <Darkling> "Eh?" Lit looks to Rasia.
  249. Corrin blinks.
  250. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Wilhelm taps Vaettir on the shoulder, then starts pointing out the service shafts and the service and personnel elevators.
  251. <Darkling> "Ah yes, the shafts are the last resort, since to get down it's a long drop."
  252. <Rasia> "Um..." She scratches her nose, trying to parse it out. "Jotunn smash in. Aesir fight Jotunn here." Rasia gestures to the barriers.
  253. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja looks to Rasia, blinking and then looking to the map.
  254. <Darkling> "That's unfortunately too risky, and we're not sure when the next Jotunn will be around."
  255. Rasia rests her chin on the table, staring at the documents.
  256. <Rasia> "Fake?"
  257. Corrin frowns. "How long would an uncontrolled Unit have?"
  258. <Darkling> "Uncontrolled by a Pilot, no time at all, and you need to be in control of them if it comes to that. But we aren't taking the Aesir down through the base. Too much of a problem."
  259. <Darkling> "How are you all at climbing?" Vaettir asks with a smirk.
  260. Rasia grins.
  261. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Could be better, could be worse." Lahja says.
  262. Corrin shrugs.
  263. <Darkling> "You're likely going to need it. We'll have gear for it, but still."
  264. <Darkling> "I will need you all to study this map later." Lit starts outlining what they've drawn on it." You're going to need to move from here.." his finger goes along the red marked path, around corners, and down a flight of stairs, "to here."
  265. Rasia blinks, looking up at Lit, and nods.
  266. Corrin tries to follow Lit's finger across the page, brow furrowing.
  267. <Darkling> "From there, we'll have to make due, since we're not sure what is actually down there, or what room we're looking for."
  268. <Corrin> "How long will we have, sir?" Corrin asks, still trying to make sense of the maze of schematics.
  269. <Darkling> "Unsure, we'll have to assume not much."
  270. <Rasia> Rasia finally perks up. "Hurt or sick?"
  271. <Darkling> "Ah," Vaettir's smile widens and there's a small blade in his hand suddenly, "That is a good question, and is all about how we're getting in."
  272. <Darkling> Vaettir spins the knife in his hand once before it disappears from view. "But Lit has asked me not to fill you in on how we're getting into the base, on account that you may not like it. Just be sure that it will work."
  273. Corrin frowns deeply at that little tidbit, looking to their Operations Director for confirmation.
  274. Rasia growls low and lazy.
  275. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja gives the knife a skeptical look, then looks to the llama again, briefly considering its worth as a viable alternative to Vaettir.
  276. <Darkling> "What we do need to know is, are you ready for this?" Lit asks, face quite serious.
  277. Corrin looks between him and Vaettir, settling on Lit. He exhales. "Ready and willing." He doesn't sound completely convinced, though.
  278. <Rasia> "Yes."
  279. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Yeah."
  280. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I feel ready. But we'll see what surprises are there."
  281. <Darkling> Lit looks to Vaettir, wondering if the pilots really understand what they were being asked, but keeping it to himself.
  282. <Darkling> "Here's the general plan then, once we're in." He starts pointing to different spots on the map that have been circled along the route.
  283. <Darkling> "Vaettir is going to have supplies for you at each of these locations. He has also stated that he will, somehow, be causing a distraction that will allow us to move about the base freely."
  284. <Darkling> Vaettir's grin sparkles at this.
  285. Rasia eyes the man warily.
  286. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja looks to the circled spots, paying more attention to them than Vaettir. "Maybe we'll get to watch a recording of it later." she remarks absently, not seeming to mean it.
  287. <Darkling> "You will have to head down to the lower levels on your own. Someone will need to stay above to get you out if you can't find the means yourselves, and since none of you can order around anyone in the base, it will have to be me."
  288. <Darkling> "I'm not sure what to expect when you're down there, but likely armed guards who will not be asking many questions."
  289. <Rasia> "Easy." The Israeli stands upright.
  290. <Darkling> "You know what you are looking for , right?"
  291. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Can't say that I do, sir."
  292. Corrin shakes his head, suddenly quiet again.
  293. <Darkling> "The spear." Vaettir fills them in.
  294. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "It won't be hard to find."
  295. <Darkling> "Hopefully not."
  296. <Darkling> Once you have it, you'll make your way back out, and we'll leave the base, by whatever means."
  297. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja's expression goes flat for a moment. "Explosives, hopefully."
  298. <Darkling> "Possibly." Vaettir adds. "Depends on the resistance."
  299. Corrin just stands there, brow furrowed. "What about the Units?"
  300. <Darkling> "We'll see if it comes to that."
  301. <Darkling> Lit shuffles in his seat sighing. "We know it's a pretty basic plan, but we don't want to complicate things."
  302. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "The Units will be required to transport the spear, at least one."
  303. <Darkling> "You think they got the spear into the base using Aesir?" Vaettir asks.
  304. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "You expect me to believe it's capable of such extreme changes in mass?"
  305. <Darkling> "Why not? You can do things that defy physics as we know them."
  306. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." Well played.
  307. Rasia scratches her nose.
  308. <Corrin> "Where are you going to be?" Corrin demands from Vaettir.
  309. <Darkling> "Causing the distraction," he replies.
  310. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Did you miss that part?"
  311. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Assuming this all goes well, what happens afterwards? I don't think we could hope to keep this a secret for very long." Lahja asks, looking at Lit.
  312. <Darkling> "Of course, once we're out of the base is a whole other story. We're working on a safe place to go and hide until we can get transportation. It shouldn't take long," Lit looks a little less sure about this.
  313. <Darkling> "Vaettir again is arranging this, so we're trusting he won't betray us."
  314. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja smiles widely. "That's reassuring."
  315. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Wilhelm eyes Vaettir for a while. Just what is he up to?
  316. Rasia bares her teeth at Vaettir. Something might tell him it isn't 'trust' that Rasia's counting on to keep him in line.
  317. <Corrin> "...Understood, sir."
  318. <Darkling> Vaettir bares his teeth back at Rasia gladly.
  319. <Darkling> Lit looks to them each in turn. "If you think we're going about this the wrong way, do speak up."
  320. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "There isn't much else to be done."
  321. <Corrin> "I'm ready." Corrin repeats.
  322. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I have no alternatives if you feel this is necessary, sir."
  323. <Darkling> A look to Rasia.
  324. Rasia clicks her teeth, but nods.
  325. <Darkling> "We proceed forward then." Lit spins the map so they can all better see. "Memorize this then."
  326. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja stares at the map, tapping the side of her head every now and then.
  327. Corrin leans over, gaze moving across the page, brow furrowed in concentration.
  328. <Wilhelm_Faustus> The Aryan glances at the map, already having it largely memorized previously.
  329. <Darkling> Lit starts packing away everything else on the table, popping a few vegetables into his mouth as he does so.
  330. Rasia clicks her teeth, reaching for an apple.
  331. <Darkling> With everything else put away, Lit looks to the pilots. "Got this in your head now?"
  332. Rasia nods, eating the core of the fruit mindlessly.
  333. Corrin seems to have lost his appetite, standing there and looking to no one in particular. At Lit's word, his head snaps back around. "Got it. Ready."
  334. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I think I'm good."
  335. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A nod from the pale boy.
  336. <Darkling> He takes the map, folding it up to go in the bag as well, then zips it up.
  337. <Darkling> With a heavy sigh, Lit leaned forward on the picnic table. "What happens next, I need you all to remain calm. Do not endanger yourselves needlessly."
  338. <Rasia> "Calm..."
  339. Corrin nods, tensing slightly.
  340. <Darkling> He nods to Vaettir, who walks off. "To the APC then." Lit says.
  341. <Darkling> He starts to head towards the exit gate, duffle bag on his shoulder.
  342. Rasia takes up Wilhelm's hand, squeezing tight.
  343. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He looks to her and gives a return squeeze.
  344. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja gives the llama one last look and a thumbs up before she walks off toward the APC.
  345. <Darkling> With Vaettir out of sight and the pilots leaving, another person, having always been there in the background sitting on a bench and reading a book, stands, the book being set down. From out of his long white coat he pulls a pair of pistols and starts walking towards a group of people.
  346. <Darkling> A shot fires into the air, the cacaphony of the small amusement park shattered by the sound. Instantly screams fill the void afterwards as people scatter. A nother shot rings out.
  347. <Darkling> "Get to the APC" Lit yells at the pilots, turning and pulling out a gun of his own.
  348. <Rasia> "Fight!"
  349. <Darkling> "No Rasia." Lit orders, a stern look. "Protect the others."
  350. Rasia clenches her fists, trembling right there on the spot.
  351. <Darkling> A few more shots ring out into the air, and the only people left in the park are the mysterious shooter in white, Lit, and the pilots.
  352. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "C'mon Rasia." Wilhelm pulls at her arm.
  353. <Darkling> Lit turns back to the man, yelling out orders to drop his weapons and surrender.
  354. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "At that rate he's going to run out of bullets. What a waste." Lahja says while walking toward the APC very casually, her voice full of disdain. Halfway there she stops.
  355. <Rasia> Nothing giving, Wilhelm. She's locked in on the stranger, every muscle begging to attack.
  356. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He whispers to her.
  357. Corrin looks to the man in white, then to Lit as the standoff continues. He stands still, fists clenched. "We have to do something."
  358. <Darkling> Lit has his gun trained on the man who continues to advance, the gun levels at Lit and fires. There's a noticeable shift in Lit's upper body as he the bullet hits, then he fires back, the man going down in moments.
  359. <Rasia> She doesn't relax in the slightest, but she backs up into the APC, eyes pinned on Lin to see if he's injured.
  360. <Darkling> If he's hurt, he isn't showing it. He's on the phone in one hand, gun in the other as he checks over the man.
  361. <Corrin> “Sir!" Corrin shouts, rushing over. "Are you alright?"
  362. <Darkling> You can hear Lit talking on the phone as you close in Corrin. "-suspect is dead. I repeat, the suspect is dead. Need a containment crew to take over the scene."
  363. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja slowly turns around, looking to Lit and the fallen man. White coat, hm? How interesting. And what a pretty color combination, white and red.
  364. <Darkling> "I've taken fire and need medical treatment, and the pilots need to get to safety, permission to enter base?"
  365. Corrin looks to the body, then back to Lit. He's stopped just over a foot away now that Lit seems to be okay. At Lit's last line, his eyes widen as he stares at the OD. Another look at the body.
  366. <Darkling> The man looks dead enough, blood seeping into his clothes and the ground. Lit stands and turns, grabbing Corrin and almost draggin him as he runs. "Come on, you're suppsoed to be in the APC."
  367. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja moves on to the APC with a smile plastered on her face.
  368. <Rasia> Rasia looks ready to rip a phonebook in half, but she simmers in the APC next to Wilhelm.
  369. Corrin obeys and runs, not that he'd have much choice. Even after everything, that was still a shock.
  370. <Darkling> With the pilots all in the back, Lit climbs in the front and starts the drive to the base.
  371. <Darkling> He looks over his shoulder at the pilots. "Any last words?"
  372. Corrin shrugs in the sudden silence, still slightly out of it. "This is it, sir?" He's looking at the seat in front of him. A glance up at Lit.
  373. <Darkling> A silent nod.
  374. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Brothers will fight and kill each other, sisters' children will defile kinship. It is harsh in the world, whoredom rife —an axe age, a sword age —shields are riven— a wind age, a wolf age— before the world goes headlong. No man will have mercy on another."
  375. Corrin presses his mouth closed, looking at Lit silently. Finally, he jerks his head.
  376. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "It's a secret."
  377. <Wilhelm_Faustus> The Aryan turned his gaze. "Ivy said that Corrin, as she died. As we killed her."
