- Question regarding 301 redirects.
- I'm wanting to get an expired domain to redirect to my money site for SEO benefits only. The expired domain has perfect backlinks.

- I have seen multiple ways of doing this from different sources. The simplest being to just straight up redirect the entire website, other being redirecting pages from the htmaccess file. ect.
- Does anyone know if the simple 301 redirect for the entire website would be the best option? Any one had any experience with 301 redirects and saw biggest benefits using a specific way to do this?
- Google said 301 redirects now pass 100% link juice.
- For me the simplest method - straight 301 to the homepage at the registrar level worked the best.
- I have tried plenty of ways (page by page, to internal page, slow page by page and so on), and so far just straight out 301 worked the best.
- Perfect mate, cheers much appreciated!
- So for example, go into my domain registrar and just straight up put a 301 redirect to my money site :p

- Yep. Please note that this way the redirect will be visible in the tools (Ahrefs, Majestic etc) so your competitors will know what you are doing. If you use htaccess method you can block the bots, but also have to pay for hosting every month and the result will be more or less similar. So decide according to your budget, how fierce the competition is etc.
- Cheers mate, competition is kind of weak for my keywords, not too fussed about people seeing the redirect so I guess i'll go with the quick option :D Thanks for the info my dude, just what I needed! thumbs up for you!
- straight 301 from your domain registrar is the best option.
- How to use 301 redirection in our website..
- There isn't a rule of thumb of the best practice in this sense.
- Personally I totally hate 301 redirects. I may go to create proxy site in between, and contextual links to my site, within the most powerful linked sites.
- If the site is too weak for this, is not worth keeping. If it's enough strong, it's totally worth.
- Maybe somewhere in the middle, for a domain that is not bad, but have like 99% of the link profile linking to the main site, then it could be fine a 301.
