  1. CHANGES FROM OLD WERSTER ROUTE:
  2. - Fight Hiker in Moon (or kill many Geodudes)
  3. - Get Moon candy
  4. - Get Gentlemandy on S.S. Anne
  5. - Skip Mega Kick
  6. - Skip Blizzard
  7. - Do Koga before Silph Co.
  8. - Get mansion candies
  9. - Skip Lapras, and teach Strength to Blastoise
  10. - Red bar everything after Koga except:
  11. > Blaine (if Koga didn't poison/damage you enough)
  12. > Silph Pidgeot/Gyarados (if HP is too risky for setup; get red bar off Gyarados)
  13. > Viridian Rival Pidgeot/Rhyhorn/Gyarados (get red bar off Gyarados)
  14. > Agatha
  15. > Lance
  16. > Champion
  17.
  18. Reset for 12/x/11/12 at Level 6
  19.
  20. EARLY GAME
  21. - Pewter Mart: Buy 5 Poke Balls, 9 Potions and 4 Antidotes
  22. > You can buy Paralyz Heals and Awakenings, but you will have to toss unused ones (and it's not necessarily wise to heal sleep on Oddishes, as they can status you again on the heal turn)
  23. - Take Cerulean Center before Misty
  24. - Moon: Fight Hiker or kill 2-5 wild Geodudes
  25. > If you fight Hiker, kill 1 wild Geodude to get some useful levels
  26. > 1 kill gets L18 for Staryu and other useful levels
  27. > 2 kills gets a bunch of useful levels throughout the early/midgame
  28. > 3 kills gets L16 for Rocket, and L20 for Pidgeotto if they are 3 high-level Geodudes
  29. > 4 kills gets L18 for Goldeen if they are 4 high-level Geodudes
  30. - Nugget Bridge: Stall for red bar on Mankey
  31. - Take Cerulean Center after Bill
  32.
  33. MIDGAME 1 (Vermilion --> Celadon)
  34. - Vermilion Mart: Buy 6 Super Potions and 3 Repels
  35. - SKIP Body Slam
  36. - Get Gentlemandy
  37. - Dig is:
  38. > 2.5 seconds faster than a flash animation (Bite)
  39. > 2 seconds faster than a shake animation with super-effective text (Surf)
  40. > 2 seconds faster than a flash animation if Dig has super-effective text (Oddishes)
  41. > 1.5 seconds faster than a flash animation (Mega Punch)
  42. - Digs: Ivysaur, Voltorb, Pikachu, Raichu, L18 Oddish, Bellsprout, L18 Oddish, Slowpoke, Slowpoke/L22 Oddish, L20 Oddish
  43. > Consider Bubblebeaming Pikachu with good Special (83% range)
  44. - If you get statused, use your Full Restore whenever it is safe
  45. > Getting paralyzed twice (very unlikely) ends the run
  46.
  47. MIDGAME 2 (Celadon --> Lavender Tower)
  48. - Take early Celadon Center
  49. - Celadon Mart:
  50. > SKIP Mega Kick
  51. > You need to toss/sell 3 of these items to make room for the Fly HM: Poke Ball, Potion, Paralyz Heal, Awakening, TM34, TM24, Nugget. Selling the Nugget helps you buy more X items (which are not strictly necessary, but they save time and add safety)
  52. > 2F: Buy 10 Super Repels (9 if keeping Nugget)
  53. > 4F: Buy 1 Poke Doll
  54. > 6F: Buy 1 Fresh Water and trade it for TM13, then buy another Fresh Water
  55. > 5F: Buy 7 X Accs, 4 X Speeds, 4 X Attacks and 9 X Specials
  56. - Teach Ice Beam over Mega Punch
  57. - Lavender Rival: IB, X Special, IB+IB(+IB), IB, Bite, IB
  58. > You die to QA + 2 Dragon Rages, but it's only 1/12 to be in a position to risk this
  59. > If you have bad Special, set up the X Special on Pidgeotto (and X Acc if Sand-Attacked), then Dig Kadabra unless great Attack
  60. - Rocket 1: IB x2, IB(+BB)
  61. - Rocket 2: Dig, Bite+Bite
  62. - Rocket 3: BB x4-5
  63. - Get L34 after Raticate/Zubat
  64.
  65. MIDGAME 3
  66. - Order (if red bar after Koga): Safari --> Koga --> Mansion --> Erika --> Blaine --> Silph --> Sabrina
  67. - Order (if no red bar after Koga): Safari --> Koga --> Mansion --> Blaine --> Silph --> Erika --> Sabrina
  68. - Candy from L34-->39 before Safari Zone
  69. - Get Safari Carbos with 7-8 DV Speed
  70. - Teach Surf over Bite
  71. - Juggler 1: X Special, Surf x2, Dig, Surf
  72. - Juggler 2: X Attack, Dig, Dig+Surf
  73. - Koga: X Special, Surf, BB+BB, Surf, Surf+Dig (Dig first if dead to boom)
  74. > NOTE: The exp. route doesn't work if you die to boom. Consider setting up to +3 if this is the case (guarantees Weezing if you don't crit)
  75. > NOTE: Getting poisoned is GOOD here for manipulating red bar. You want to Antidote the poison at ~21 HP
  76. - Get L41 after Koga
  77. - Toss/use the last of an item on mansion Super Repel menu
  78. - Get Mansion Carbos with 7-10 DV Speed
  79. - Get both mansion candies, and use them immediately to reach L43
  80. - Blaine: BB, X Special, BB x2, Surf
  81. > If you have great Speed AND Arcanine Take Down gives you red bar: BB x2, Surf, BB+Surf
  82. - Erika: IB x3
  83. - Silph Arbok: Surf
  84. - Silph Rival: X Special, (X Acc), Surf, IB+IB, BB, Dig, IB
  85. - Silph Rival (no red bar), IB, X Special+IB+IB, BB, Dig, IB
  86. > Gyarados Bite does ~15-18
  87. > Gyarados is a range at L44
  88. > Venusaur is a range with bad Special
  89. > NOTE: You really, really want red bar off Gyarados. If you survive Bite in high red bar, it's worth risking the 1/3 death to Dragon Rage. Also stall for red bar with X Accs/Poke Flute at 41+ HP. If you don't get red bar here, get it off Drowzee (75% to hit you; ~22 dmg Psychic, 14 dmg Confusion, 7 dmg Headbutt)
  90. - Silph Rocket: BB, Surf/Dig, BB
  91. > Stall for red bar on Drowzee if necessary (use an Elixer turn 1, then use X Acc if you need to stall more)
  92. > Surf/Dig depends on how good your Special is
  93. - Silph Giovanni: Surf x2, BB, Surf
  94. - Before Sabrina, use an Elixer and teach Strength over Bubblebeam
  95. - Sabrina: Strength, X Attack x1-2, Strength/Dig, Dig, Strength/Dig
  96. > Need 2 X Attacks with bad Attack
  97. > Mr. Mime dies to Surf after 2 X Attacks (and sometimes 1), so use that if you get Barrier but no Light Screen
  98. > Mr. Mime does 15-18 with Confusion and 2 with Doubleslap
  99. > Alakazam can use Reflect while underground (this is the main reason that +2 is good)
  100. - Viridian Gym: OHKO everything (must Surf Machokes, Nidos and Rhydon)
  101.
  102. LATE GAME
  103. - Heal to 38+ HP for Viridian Rival (higher is better for safety)
  104. - Viridian Rival: X Special, X Speed, X Acc, IB, Fissure, IB+IB, IB/Fissure, Fissure x2
  105. > Weird fight because you ideally want to X Speed on Gyarados to guarantee IB+IB, but you don't want to risk an extra turn of Dragon Rage damage. Good Special helps here
  106. > Red bar saves a lot of time, but watch out for Dewgong Take Down (~23-28 damage)
  107. - Elixer on last Super Repel menu (can safely do this on Dewgong turn 2, or Slowbro with 2+ PP remaining)
  108. - Deposit slaves unless you have Dux OR you're swapping to bird on Lorelei
  109. - Skip E4 mart
  110. - Lorelei: X Acc, Fissure x5
  111. - Elixer for Bruno
  112. - Bruno: X Acc, IB, Surf x2, IB, Fissure
  113. > If you die to Rock Throw/Slam, X Acc on Machamp (15% to die to Submission)
  114. - Agatha: X Acc, X Speed, Fissure, IB+IB, Fissure x3
  115. > Haze is really bad (need to set up again)
  116. - Heal to 120+ HP
  117. - Lance: X Special, IB+IB+IB, IB x2, Surf, IB
  118. > X Speed on last Gyarados turn if it's recharging Hyper Beam
  119. - Heal to 140+ HP (lower if you ignore Sky Attack)
  120. - Elixer for Champion
  121. - Champion: X Special, X Speed, X Acc, IB, Fissure, IB, IB+IB+IB, Fissure x2
