Alright, this is hopefully the last extremely unpleasant thing that's going to need reporting to you guys this week, but the player behind Blight has been removed from AE. The reasons behind it are using OOC means to berate, attack, pressure, and manipulate AE players about their characters' actions; basically just unleashing a world of abuse onto players when their characters were played in ways he seems to have found objectionable and/or didn't do what he wanted them to do. This isn't okay for anybody, but as this was a Staff member it's especially not okay.

I feel like a bit (more than a bit) of an idiot, but I hope I can be believed when I say that I didn't witness what was happening personally - I'm not sure exactly why, it just wasn't something that he showed to me. I say this often when initiating a ban, but I'm truly sorry for not catching it. At the end of the day it's down to me to root this stuff out, I didn't manage to do so, and even went so far as to make him Staff.

To the folks who reported this, thank you. You shouldn't have to do my job for me, and I appreciate that you were willing to come forward and address the problem. This is twice as much the case when the problem is a Staff member.

We'll be processing wrap-ups behind the scenes throughout the upcoming week, which will hopefully be a lot brighter than this one has been.

Niamh Update: Blight is permitted to return as a player under the following agreements:

- Acknowledgement that these things happened and weren't okay.
- No OOC contact with AE players, with the exception of a RL friend who also plays.
- A timeline confirmed to ensure none of this happened during his tenure as Staff - rather a fair amount of time before it - and stopped as adjustment to the place and its policies was achieved.
- Any sign of retaliation without clear-cut IC motivations against those assumed to have reported the behavior will result in the ban's reinstatement.

Hello, all.  For the sake of awareness, I re-banned Surtr (also known as Mojmir, Jacques, Rodion) a couple days ago on Jan 10th.  I sincerely doubt there's anyone who wonders why - on the contrary, there's probably many who wonder a lot more why I lifted the ban to begin with after he was fired from Staff some time ago - but if there's anyone out there who is unaware of the context, please feel welcome inquiring.

If there is any whiff of the guy around here on a new account, using a proxy, whatever else, please say something immediately.  This is a permaban, not a temp cooldown ban.  The player isn't welcome here under any circumstances.
