Frau Jade.

Yumeoji Shiori found herself alone in the horse stalls belonged to Siegfeld. The stall and equestrian club has been one of her refugee when she’s there, threading the step to be a stage girl she so longed for.

Her love for animals and her love for stage is incomparable, like, Shiori herself couldn’t choose either one of them if she’s being asked to. ‘They are different kind of love’, Shiori might say that as to protect her ideals; stage is her dream, animals are her friends, that’s all there to it.

But, when the stage stopped to glimmer with hope, she can only turn her attention to her beloved animals to soothe her heart – it can’t be a reversible effect.

Small fingers brushed on one of the brown Mare, the blonde girl watched the healthy-looking horse with empty eyes.

‘I can’t take this anymore.’ – was the last call she ever shared with her older sister, one of the respected Edels—Top Student—of Siegfeld’s High Music Institute. The next day, a news buzzing around Shiori about the empty throne of Frau Jade, and the rumor that her sister fled to a certain old school in faraway land, Rinmeikan.

Shiori rewinded her memory far back to where she witnessed her older sister’s Elysion play, and how she resolved to never give up on her dreams to stand on the stage as bright—no, even brighter than how her sister is.

Then again, after that day … everyone only see ‘Yumeoji Fumi’ as a mere incompetent and traitor to the names of Edels—to the Siegfeld itself.

“… Goddess of Wind, the one who’s flying freely …”

Shiori’s hand stopped from her soothing brush to the horse; her jade eyes cast down, tears started to pool on itself.

[ Her sister is the epitome of the Wind—if something is binding her, she would love to break free and go away. ]

Swallowing back her tears, Shiori looked up to the sky – to the wooden roof belonged to horse stalls, to the endless clouds, to the evening wind that started to pick up chills and whispers of the night.

“I’ll reach for you wherever you are, Onee-chan.”

Yachiyo didn’t need too long to guess who the newly Frau Jade is.

It was as if everything is obvious from the start; how Akira-senpai eyes twitched or how Michiru-senpai waited in jitter for the said person to come to the student council office. It’s not like juniors like Yachiyo and Meifan didn’t have a hand to the agreement, Akira and Michiru would tell their own evaluation first before moving on the verdict – though Yachiyo already knew who’s who.

“… The new Frau Jade will be Yumeoji Shiori.” The tenor in Akira-senpai’s voice is always satisfying to hear, but not for today. “Any objections, Meifan, Yachiyo?”

“If Akira-san said so, then I wholly agree!” comes the usual Meifan’s supporting (not really) exclamation.

“I have no objection~” said Yachiyo.

“It’s decided, then. I’ll announce it later, ‘kay?” Michiru piped in.

Yachiyo peered over her closed notebook in her blazer pocket, collecting her sigh away from Michiru and Meifan to notice.

Frau Jade. Frau Jade. Frau—

Yachiyo started a new entry to her surveillance notebook finally as Shiori joined to take the throne of Frau Jade.

Earlier in pre-meeting, Michiru-senpai happened to push the buttons already: the topic of Shiori being a shadow of Fumi, Yachiyo didn’t know if she should be pleased or not with how the topic went.

Well, the pinkette couldn’t help but to play along the script, of course – and Akira scolded her for doing it.

Yachiyo is in her room again, compiling her report of the day. The pre-meeting with the newly-appointed Frau Jade surely got Yachiyo of an insight of Shiori’s character, for a bit.

“The new Frau Jade, Yumeoji Shiori,” Yachiyo put her pen to a pause, her monologue continued. “While I can agree that she’s here because of her skills, just like Akira-senpai has said, I have to agree that she is labelled as ‘that person’s’ younger sister…”

Sharp turquoise eyes. Constant yelling to focus on practice. Strong-willed character. Poised stature of dancing. The—

(“I don’t like being compared to my sister.”)

A softer voice shattered Yachiyo’s recollection of a certain someone. The pinkette realized just now that she has stopped writing entirely, reciting the pages that she has ripped and burn away to nothingness.
