She moved to the left side of the loader. The main rail track was electrified, but there was ample
room on this side for pedestrian traffic on a wide pavement that had been laid alongside the track. As
the tunnel began a gentle curve, Billie judged her moment. She swung one leg over the edge of the
loader and then pushed off, throwing her weight forward, aiming straight for the tunnel wall. A
moment later she hit it, her outstretched palms stopping her from braining herself against the rough
rock walls, and she dropped onto the pathway in a crouch.
