  1. Dev--- Glyph Crafters Volition

  4.
  5. [04:17] Having traveled to another cave, young Orion found himself feeling a sense of greed and ambition, not only gathering the ore for his experiment but for his profit as well towards the glade...
  6.
  7. Nevertheless, he made the attempt of such...Sitting there within the cave, Orion drew a few runes onto the stone before him.. In translation of the runic language, it said the following:
  8.
  9. 'To crawl and to walk,
  10. Standing tall, you will never fall...'
  11.
  12. Orion began to pour his energy into the runes, wondering what would happen next... He did not pour no more than what he estimated, what he guessed was the right amount of energy for this to work... Orion stood there after a while, waiting for the results, only to see the rocks come together and lie flat on the ground but do nothing more after that..
  13.
  14. Unlike his last experiment, this false Skurn did not stand nor did it move, it just simply lied there... Something was mission, and Orion did not know what it was, he continued to think on it as he hacks away at the ores within the cave... What could he have been missing? He was a veteran at the art, a second tier rune writer, he felt as if he should know this and all else...
  15.
  16. However, Orion knew that he was still learning, barely even scratching the surface if all he knows people use it for is business...But like Adsila told him before, he must be free and blossom, never to stay within a box and keep an open mind if he wants to accel.
  17. (Orion Sinclair)
  18.
  19.
  20. [05:22] Orion Sinclair says, "Hm... Wonder if anyone's even awake."
  21. [05:38] It was late, the tide was high and the moon slowly ascends into the sky... It was hardly even midnight but Orion stood out near a fire and near the vast Glade river just outside of his hut... While everyone else was asleep, young Orion was hard at work, conducting research and gazing at the stars during his breaks...
  22.
  23. "Now's the time..."
  24.
  25. Quickly, the young Glyph-Scribe went ahead to use what materials were around him, spotting the nearby trees and river water, he began to draw a long line using his mana... This line was led out to the river and trees, he would then go around the trees surrounding him, marking them with a rune at the base and securing that rune or glyph with a sliver of energy.
  26.
  27. Soon after, Orion made sure to connect the large circle, drawing even more glyph/runes within the center... Although he could barely reach the water with what he had on land, the young Glyph-Scribe made sure to accommodate for such. Each of the runes symbolized the following words and their meaning:
  28.
  29. 'Virtue'
  30. 'Spring'
  31. 'Strength'
  32. 'Obedience'
  33. 'Growth'
  34. 'Power'
  35. 'To Walk'
  36. 'To Defend'
  37. 'To Fight'
  38. 'To Listen'
  39. 'Volition'
  40. 'Sentinel Pride for Glade'
  41.
  42. Slowly but surely he began to pour his energy into the runes, focused, concentrating on his major and current goal. Hoping that one day, he would achieve such a feat, "Like the Ocean of Time, let my mana pour both calm and steady, be flexible and fill in the empty spaces... Be like water."
  43.
  44. The rune symbols on his hand, the ground as well as his vine from mother Adsila all began to glow a bright light... Orion smiled at his progress, feeling exalted at the sight of a tree twitching, believing it to be the making of a Sentinel (Skurn)… He stared at the other natural materials, spotting no movement... This... Was an obvious failure, no matter how great of a light show, Orion just couldn't do it without that missing piece..
  45.
  46. "What am I missing?... Where do your secrets lie?... Perhaps in the Memories of the Deep Blue Sea..."
  47. (Orion Sinclair)
  48.
  49.
  50.
  51. [06:53] Nods his head, gazing at the moonlight passage shortly after.
  52. (Orion Sinclair)
  53.
  54.
  55. [07:00] Though he was on the very top of the Pillar of Everlasting Spring, Orion thought what time would be better than now without any distractions... He drew a series of runes onto his own scarf, placing it onto the ground...Then Orion clapped his hands together, forcing his energy from both hands to collide and merge with one another.
  56.
  57. Soon after he grabs ahold of his scarf, using his rune abilities to try and force the object to move and stand on it's own. "Come on, stand, I know you can do it!" He speaks aggressively towards a clothing item... It was not long before Orion would get his results, watching the scarf wiggle ever so softly as if it were being toyed with by the passing wind.
  58.
  59. 'Rouge'
  60. 'Lavenierre'
  61. 'Aakesh'
  62. 'Blossomed Flora'
  63. 'Springy Fuana'
  64. 'Everlasting Gehanna'
  65.
  66. But no, this time the results were solid, (Dice roll landed on 6) his runes managed to make the scarf move but only for a moment or two... He smiled at such results, throwing the item into the air out of sheer joy... He felt as if he were finally getting somewhere with his experiments, his Glyph-Scribing.
  67. (Orion Sinclair)
  68.
  69.
  70.
  71. [20:12] Orion Sinclair says, "Alright! Let's get started."
  72. [20:12] Myrrah says, "Y-yeah..."
  73. [20:13] Please... lend me your aid... oh heroes of old...
  74. (Myrrah)
  75.
  76.
  77. [20:14] Two spirits emerge, they seem much stronger than the spirits she had summoned before.
  78. (Myrrah)
  79.
  80.
  81. [20:17] Orion Sinclair says, "Have your spirits form a triangle."
  82. [20:17] Myrrah's breathing becomes steady... A flame engulfs her body.
  83.
  84. (Myrrah)
  85.
  86.
  87. [20:17]
  88. Determined to get better results and freshly out of bed, young Orion didn't even spare a second for his mind's eye was set in stone for his daily research. He made his way to the hilltop with Myrrah, surrounded by trees, an element which he came to realize... Harnesses the most natural life force than any other object, meaning that trees were already alive.
  89.
  90. All he would have to do is mold them and shape their being into a new. Possibly even merge a few trees together in order to make such a sentinel. Now he was unsure of one main thing, how will he assemble these trees, how will he give them a proper jolt of life and how will he make them mobile... The answer of understanding lied within himself and in those around him...
  91.
  92. However, surprisingly enough he was not alone, Myrrah gave aid through the use of her spirits, with them, they would enhance the connection of mana circuits between Orion and the trees around them. This just might be something crucial for their little experiment, and so the show had to go on.
  93.
  94. Almost immediately he caught onto his own train of thought, pounding his right fist onto the flat surface of his left hand. "Oh! I've been such a fool all this time! With mother's gift, I can possibly tap into these trees with my own and part of her mana! Yes! It might be crazy enough to work!" Orion shouts, sitting alone in the forest just outside the Glade, he trained upon a hilltop.
  95.
  96. Not only did Orion draw a series of runes, he did so in an organized manner by drawing his rune symbols around multiple trees. This was all in order to link them all together, hopefully, this will forge a natural mana circuit for the three trees marked. The Glyph/Rune symbols read as:
  97.
  98. 'Merging Trio'
  99. 'Rising Fauna'
  100. 'Growing Flora'
  101. 'Forging Fire'
  102. 'Sacred Guardian'
  103. 'Thousand Years'
  104. 'Defender of oaths'
  105. 'Fellowship'
  106. 'Clarity Heart'
  107. 'Shape of Elements'
  108. 'Forbidden Obelisk'
  109. 'Ocean of Time!'
  110.
  111. Upon shouting the final line, Orion slams his hand flat onto a tree, channeling immense amounts of energy. Soon enough the ground began to glow due to the runic illumination, working its magic, forcing the trees to become one. Though they would remain rooted to the ground, their branches became one with the other trees linked to them.
  112.
  113. Pushing himself to utilize the power of each individual rune symbol. Orion managed to make the three trees become one, taking on the figure of a trained warrior. However much like his old experiments, this so called Sentinel was unable to move. At this point the creation was more or so like a statue but of course in the eyes of a determined young lad. This failure was a success, giving him something to improve on…
  114.
  115. It was not like an immediate failure or success but rather one that took time to examine along the way, with him, Myrrah stood observing his progress. But Orion tried his best not to lose focus, reminiscing on the success and failures of his previous experiments, wondering what else was he missing. He thought that perhaps, he lacked the magical abilities or the runic knowledge, nevertheless, he remained determined, wishing to try again and again despite the risk.
  116.
  117. "It's just like mother said, those who are perfect never improve or change, those like us have a future... Because we are forever changing..." Orion pulled his hands back, ending his connection to the affected trees. This left the trio of trees in a form which resembled that of a fine warrior with runes and energy from both Orion and the forest flowing through them.
  118.
  119. Looking at Myrrah he spoke his mind, “I don’t know what I am missing, nor do I know where to go, but the answer is out there, somewhere… Perhaps the truth lies within the Memories of the Deep…” He said with a stern and focused tone, glaring into the ocean with his hair breezing along with the wind. He then finally turned his sights to Myrrah, actually embracing her with a tight hug, only to stare her directly in the eyes.
  120.
  121. (Orion Sinclair)
  122.
  123.
  124. [20:18] Myrrah exclaims, "! O-orion!"
  125. [20:19] Orion Sinclair asks, "Wha?! Never been hugged before?"
  126. [20:19] Myrrah says, "N-no... It's just..."
  127. [20:20] Myrrah blushes then, buries her face into his chest
  128. (Myrrah)
  129.
  130.
  131. [20:20] Myrrah says, "I didn't expect it..."
  132. [20:27] With her in his arms, Orion brushed her hair back with a gentle touch, rubbing her ears down in the process, his one hand covering most of her head. "... You have wonderful eyes, like the sea and sky, they're blue--- Sorry, I shouldn't say those things in the open..." For a moment he thought about what Song had told him, about the world being so deep in chaos, he began to wonder if that was true... Though for some reason, he couldn't help but think of Myrrah's story about the fisherman and princess...
  133.
  134. "One of these days, I'll get away from this hell... With the Sentinels... I will have the Glade protected," Orion spoke trying to change the subject.
  135. (Orion Sinclair)
