  16. What is it?
  17. This House Has People in it (THHPII) is a lator/comedy short and alternate reality game made collaboratively by AB Video Solutions (ABVS). ABVS also created Live Forever as You Are Now with Alan Resnick, Commencement Speech, and Unedited Footage of a Bear for Adult Swim. ABVS includes Alan Resnick (of “alantutorial” fame), Dina Kelberman, Robby Rackleff, Ben O’brien, and Cricket Arrison. This group is known sometimes as Wham City. 4 videos appeared on Alan Resnick’s youtube page, Adult Swim’s Facebook Page, and elsewhere on March 4, 2016 leading to the full short premiering on March 14 at 4am on Adult Swim.
  18. The short (and its accompanying web materials) depicts an everyday American suburban family in the midst of a series of supernatural crises. It was shot entirely on security cameras.

  23. What is going on?
  24. The short consists of security cam footage inside someone's home. AB Surveillance Solutions, a security company seems to be keeping logs and watching the family as they live a seemingly average life. However it seems that there is something darker going on under the facade.

  26. A synopsis of the short can be found below, but it is recommended that you view the full video from the link above as it will contain spoilers.
  27. AB Surveillance Solutions
  28. The link at the end of the video (http://absurveillancesolutions.com/) leads to a website for the security company. The page is that of a security company but it appears that they don’t actually seem to be selling anything. A lot of the site is worded strangely, often saying disturbing things.
  29. One of the sections is a “solution” forum with a small questionnaire. So far it only returns an error stating: Error: This function is not available without an account
  30. At the top of the main page there is a login section. Requesting a password recovery and giving an address gives you an email gives you the following:

  36. In the DOS prompt you are presented with selections 0-2 however ‘3’ is a valid selection that requires a password. (also after you type ‘3’ it changes to ‘x’)

  38. The password to the archives is “sadday” which contains audio, text, and image files.
  39. The password for 3 is “waarnemin” (Dutch/Afrikaans for "observation” - although could be meant as waarnemen or waarneming), it contains three very unpleasant videos. Both passwords can be seen hidden in THHPII.

  41. The javascript over at http://absurveillancesolutions.com/script.js (Unobfuscated javascript) is writ
  42. ten in such a way that it has been obfuscated. All the readable parts of the code are written in reverse. If you reverse the top half you can see all the readable parts and you will notice the user/pass is in there which leads me to think the user and pass for the archive and ‘3’ selection must also be in that list.

(The signal switches to a strange-colored face of a man and then to that man eating another man on a bed for a few frames.) The description from the DOS command labels the girl as “guest 5”, but the video log notes say “subject 27 affected”. 09/14/2015 12:19:02 PM shows briefly at 0:20

  160. 00147: Subject 2 unable to lift lawn mower. Mower slowly sinks into the ground(no it doesnt?). Camera shakes afterwards. Perhaps Subject 2 is venting by kicking tree camera is situated in? Is this the same lawnmower being pushed in x2?

Or maybe even a clay pizza?) Boomy’s face eating pizza. (Phrases “Pimp”, “Dux”, and “Dance Dad” seen on side of fridge)

Exchanges hacksaw with empty pizza box from 00456, spits in it, then throws it out. Seems to have lost a lot of his motor ability. (Trying to spread LD to captors by spit?)

  168. 11009 Extreme close-up of Subject 6 rubbing clay (or anti-Lynks gel?) on his face with his eyes closed (another way of “face touching”?)

  170. 04520: Son is frantically coding on several computers while the Father is trying to pull him away, yelling “Call the police”, it appears they are both wearing the same clothing (Is this Alan Resnick telling us to stop snooping around? Or this could be the explanation for why some videos are missing. It could be another symptom of Lynks?). There are letters on the dishwasher that i believe reads “BEANS.” And then M, I, and A are scattered about.also a magnet with A, 7, and maybe J punched out. (Well with issues with Net Neutrality, the US Government is trying to make encrypting illegal. Fox News tries to convince people that hackers/crackers are criminals instead of technocrats. Tying this tangential comment together as relevant because Tom says that he’ll call the cops on his son for what looks like hacking/cracking. A lot of this thematically deals with old fashioned dos-cracking and surveillance. )

  172. 07264: Someone is hiding in the lower left corner (Boomy?, x?) Note how 6 walks up to the bed very robotically, then suddenly moves naturally to its side. 6 doesn’t come from the door, yet leaves through it. Comes from the same direction as the thing from x3. Also note that this video takes place on Christmas. He mentions saving money in the winter (by replacing the windows) but since it takes place on Christmas, it is wintertime.

Mother is shown attacking the tree or figurine with a machete? Oh yeah, also the creepy blinking head in the mirror. (Could be grandfather/missing subject?) Subject 3 turns and is seen holding a baby doll. Subject 2 says, “Guys...I kept my promise!” And everyone else screams with joy and begins hugging. (In the main video you can see a snow shovel, meaning that it does snow where they live.)

We hear them both sing the Boomy the cat theme song, and subject 1 calls it “cute”. They discuss donating to charities and the African country of Togo. Suddenly, unknown subject enters the room (Could be Alan’s “Visitor Information” character or subject in mirror in Log 00083) Both subject 1&2 are frightened. Camera goes “out of range”. Seems to come from a different direction than the door to the room.

(NOT the same instance actually… 00451 is on 5/31/15 and the email from FILE08488 is on 11/12/14. But it does show that he hides things there consistently.)

  190. 50032: The Contractor (Subject 6) gets beaten up by unknown henchmen (possibly to death? no, not to death you can see him get up and try to climb the ladder again a couple of times, but I don’t think he’s in later videos. he is in the logs, though: “10-08-2015 13:19:08 Subject 5 flirts with Subject 6 00:01:05”).

(He means that now that the kid sees him on the cartoon he can think of him as his imaginary friend, I don’t think it means that Boomy can interact with fans directly, but in the child’s email to the Boomy fan club he says he sees Boomy sometimes, which would be Subject 9, but I don’t think he’s actual Boomy--I’ve heard a theory that due to the mention of time travel in x3 people think that Subject 9 is just later Jackson. Also possible connections to Alan Tutorial and Autism in general with the color blue).

  208. 01263: Subject 5 enters the house wearing handcuffs. This is notable in that the Sculptor from the show she’s always watching believes the best clay comes from prisons. Lynks can also be transmitted from handling clay. From the emails, we know the grandma has been purchasing clay as well.

Basically Off The Air is kinda Adult Swim’s flagship right now, it stands out especially for its seamless gathering/editing of disconnected threads from the internet into one greater whole; people theorize that Adult Swim may have already replaced the original black screen/white text Adult Swim bumpers through usage of this seamless editing. Logs is open and a list of video logs is shown before tape number 00451 is loaded showing a list of security camera footage in what looks like a suburban home. We cut to the kitchen camera in which Subject 1 (Anne) and Subject 2 (Tom) are discussing taking money from a saved family vacation to Orlando and using it to go “out of the country” possibly to Cape Town. Subject 2 is seen holding Subject 8 (the baby) and Subject 3 (Maddison) is briefly seen lying face down (described in logs as “prone”) on the floor.
  844. The footage cuts to an empty hallway camera then to the basement in which Subject 6 is repairing something off-screen with a pipe wrench. Footage cuts once again to the living room, which has been decorated for a birthday party. Subject 4 (Jackson/Jack) is seen wandering while Subject 5 watches “The Sculptor’s Clayground”. We then go back to the kitchen to a discussion between subject 1 (holding Subject 8) and subject 2 talking about composting, then another cut to a front yard camera looking between some porch railings, and another cut to the backyard camera.

In the living room Subject 5 is still watching TV as Subject 4 plays with blinds. In the kitchen Subjects 1 and 2 are addressing subject 3 laying on the floor. (Subject 8 has disappeared). It is mentioned she hasn’t moved for 2 hours. Subject 2 resigns to let her lay there thinking it is some sort of tantrum. In the basement Subject 6 retrieves large container of water from off camera, as we cut back to Subject 1 begins taking photos while scolding Subject 3, Subject 2 argues about it.

A deer can be seen in the background before running off, followed by man in Sonic the hedgehog like costume (Boomy the blue cat) quickly runs by window. Meanwhile Subject 4 begins to sweep party supplies into large paper bag.

The stove in the kitchen begins to fume, and fills the house with smoke as Subject 8 is seen crawling away. Subjects 1 and 6 fetch subject 4’s mattress to put in the basement as Subject 2 has gone completely insane and is shouting. Outside Subject 8 crawls out of the backyard and is not seen again.

  904. I think this entire thing is an attempt at engineering superhumans via the Lynks virus by directly exposing it to the populace. Lynks, while causing death, decay, and dementia, also causes perfect singing and matter phasing. AB Surveillance Solutions is monitoring a town while purposefully spreading Lynx to see the effects and see if anyone is immune to the degenerative aspects. This explains all the different subject numbers (everyone in the town is a subject), and Boomy (a town member who developed superspeed b/c of Lynks).
  905. The town being quarantined makes sense. It’s mentioned once that you “shouldn’t go too far, or they’ll think you’re trying to leave”. The baby in THHPII escapes in the chaos, and is replaced by a doll in later entries. Their dog runs away, and they’re seen wearing dog costumes to make up for the loss. Jack wonders why he can’t invite people from the old neighborhood to his birthday party.

In image documents from the archives detailing a newsletter to individuals who have Lynks, mentions are made to some of the stranger actions performed by the family (have you listened to your record yet today? Have you found a place and hid in the dark yet today?) Perhaps the security company is conducting an experiment in using technology (whether airborne drugs, modified food, the ‘clay’, or some manner of electromagnetic device to incite behaviors in humans) regarding the application of behavior-control technologies. As is mentioned in this document earlier, several ‘triggers’ seem to cause weird behavior in the family, hinting that they may be being psychologically conditioned. Some strange things are outright ignored despite being obviously in the same room. The color blue appears to bring on some of these qualities.

As the conversations continue, each time they begin a new one they say ‘hello’? Increasingly frantically before seeming to calm down once they hear the other subject repeat ‘hello’ several times. It’s in most of these same phone calls that they abruptly begin screaming, sometimes with no warning, once with a ‘wait a second’ before hand. I posit that Lynks disease is a cover up for a scientific experiment with military applications involving behavior control at least.

One support for this theory is the constant introduction of new products into the family’s life that have to be relegated to specific people (no crackers for the kids) or are brought on for no reason whatsoever (the Lynks pamphlet says we’re doing Halloween in February, so let’s buy dog costumes for everyone!)
