background » jaeyoo was born in tianjin, china, with a chinese mother and a korean father, and raised with quite a steel hand along with her younger twin sister. her parents weren't the most emotional people, nor were they the best at showing their love for the two of them, which became a gigantic influence in making jaeyoo who she is now. her sister is the softer of the two, the "model" feminine child who had gotten into pretty much passed every class with finesse and grace and knew how to speak multiple languages and could play every single instrument everㅡ not that jaeyoo was /jealous/ or anything. being the oldest, she was given the same standards as she was, and could reach that, except to a much broader extent. her parents are incredibly successful in the business industry, and, though they had hoped to have a son be their heir, they decided to just do everything they would have done if they had a son, only twice as rigorous.

             growing up, jaeyoo had grown to realize that emotions didn't help herㅡ not when her parents had none of it and disregarded any emotion she held other than happiness as irrelevant. it came to her subconsciously, and slowly she turned into a somewhat-clone of her parents. people usually flocked to her sister for a friend, and only some could withstand her constant moodswings (and even they ended up feeling like she was "too much" for them). there was always a small voice in the back of her head, telling her nasty things about herself, and others, and would bother her when she was trying to do the simplest things. it wasn't until she was 14 that she realized that they weren't just her own thoughts, and that they were another person's, when she confronted someone who she thought was her "friend" about some stupid "thought" that was in her head. after the fight, jaeyoo went home, and after a few seconds of silence and thinking it over, began to trash the complete /shit/ out her room. it was then that she literally almost killed herself when she maybe-kind-of-accidentally used her brain to fling her bed towards where she was. her parents, upon entering the house from work, immediately her the gigantic ' bang! ' from her room, and began to investigate. what they found was an out of control jaeyoo, hysterically sobbing and having a full-on anxiety attack.

             after the episode, which was coincidentally at the end of their school year, their family decided to move back to daegu in south korea, where it was all the same, except jaeyoo voluntarily decided to just stop trying. she isn't close with her parents, nor is she close with her twin sister (though they do try to get to her, sometimes).

personality » calm and straight-faced, jaeyoo is an intimidating person who you don't really approach often. she's moody, and incredibly cynical when it comes to dealing with other people. people often think of her as a complete bitch, seeing as she gives off a closed-off vibe. incredibly tired at any point of the day, it's easy to see why she would be completely done with everybody, too, as she's part of pretty much every extra-curricular activity there could be. people assume her to be egotistical and self-centered, as she zones out quite a bit, too, whenever someone's speaking, as she's constantly reading a person's thoughts. she's the complete opposite of the rumors, though, and really just distances herself because of what she hears. whenever she speaks, it's usually without care, and is extremely straightforward and blunt when you talk to her. she's paranoid, and doesn't exactly know how to act upon feelings (ie. jealous, love, anger) whenever she feels them, and is completely over dramatic when she begins to feel things strongly (but she's very calm and level-headed, most of the time).

              if you stay long enough, though, you get to see how protective she actually is, even if she doesn't feel like she is. she cherishes any friend that decides to stay with her, and trusts them with everything she has. she subconsciously takes care of them, silently giving them some of her food or doing little things in general. jaeyoo wouldn't ever admit it, though, preferring to seem like she's completely detached. another way to see her soft side is when she's with animals, because then she just turns into a big ball of mush. she's also quite funny, with puns and witty comebacks (that are meant with good intentions). jaeyoo is extremely hardworking, and will be stubborn when things don't go her way. add that to her competitiveness, and you've got a star player.

his personality » often described as a "volcano" because of his personality. he's quiet, and often has a very intimidating and hard-lookig resting face. not many people like to hang around him, but that's mostly because he's /very/ easy to anger; there isn't a lot that you can do to make him /not mad/, which definitely surprises some people because of his usually calm (yet scary) demeanor. he's quiet because he's also lowkey judging people on the inside. likes to use his power of manipulation by making people buy him food, and sometimes leaving him alone. he's also quite competitive, and an incredibly passionate and stubborn person. maybe that's why he's the star player (and captain) of the basketball team.

how she acts around him » she considers him as one of her biggest rivals, especially since they're both considered the biggest competitions on the sports team. jaeyoo respects him enough to not talk shit about him behind his back (perhaps even admires him-- not that she would ever admit that)-- no matter how many times she wants to. she's still quite sassy towards him though, and thinks that he could use a bit more /people skills/ (even though she can't say much about that). and for some weird reason, she can't read his thoughts no matter how many times she tries to or how hard she does it, and jaeyoo absolutely h a t e s it. but she tries to not let it get the best of her, and often you'll find her staring at him during classes, trying to catch even a /little/ bit of his thoughts, but... it just doesn't work. when he asks her out of the blue what the hell her problem is, she's at a loss for words, not wanting to out herself in the open just like that. okay this is the beginning of the cheesy coming of age shit like they're suddenly partners for a huge ass project and they have to hang and blah blah blah she gets too close to him but she still highkey hates him and she's rlly hot and cold towards him like being nice one second then hating him the next. ??? the end could be romantic or platonic but she just really does not want him to know she likes him.
