<ian3> But it also has to have a science lab and it has to hold 8 kerbals, so how do you fit all of that behind the heat shield without it being too tall and tip over?

<ian3> But the other problem is there isn't a way to mount an engine on the bottom behind the heat shield without burning up, so there has to be another engine behind the heat shield or something.

<ian3> And the other problem is there has to be drills on the bottom so it can mine the ore, so the drills have to be stowed behind the heat shield and not on the outside.
<ian3> So I'm thinking maybe for the bottom part of the outpost I'll just have a narrow fuel tank with 4 tanks attached to the side, and 2 drills also attached to the side, and an engine below that.
<ian3> The only other way is to send the parts separately and dock them somehow.
