  1. Clarissa hadn’t planned on this happening. As she drove to her apartment, with Seth following behind, the red panda contemplated what was going on. She only met Seth, besides the online chats they held, tonight and she was inviting him to her apartment. Clarissa did feel safe around him so that wasn’t an issue. She let out a breathe and decided to just let things go where they go.
  2.
  3.
  4.
  5. The wah pulled into the parking lot of her building and pointed Seth to a visitor’s space. Sitting on the trunk of her definitely well used car, Clarissa waited for Seth to get out before making any moves. She smiled at him, holding out her hand.
  6.
  7.
  8.
  9. “I just want to say that I’m not promising anything but a night of watching a good movie.”
  10.
  11.
  12.
  13. “That’s fine by me. I told you from the get go that I wouldn’t push anything.”
  14.
  15.
  16.
  17. She nodded and lead him up to the apartment. It was in a decent part of the city, as much as she could afford on a librarian's salary. She managed to get one on the ground floor, in the back end of the apartment which was nice because the landlord had let her plant a garden of flowers and tomato plants.
  18.
  19.
  20.
  21. “It’s not much. I never really had a reason to get any fancy stuff.”
  22.
  23.
  24.
  25. Seth nodded, just enjoying her company in general. When she opened the door, he could see that while she wasn’t lying, she had also made due with what Clarissa had. There was at least a TV and a decent sized couch. A couple of small lamps and even a hall light down the tiny hallway which lead to her bedroom. She walked into the little kitchen as she took her jacket off and left Seth to get comfortable.
  26.
  27.
  28.
  29. “Would you like anything to drink? I have iced tea, cream soda, some lemonade…”
  30.
  31.
  32.
  33. “Anything adult-oriented?”
  34.
  35.
  36.
  37. “sadly no.”
  38.
  39.
  40.
  41. “Just an iced tea will do them.”
  42.
  43.
  44.
  45. She nods and bends over into the fridge to pull out the large pitcher. Clarissa got two glasses out of the dishwasher and poured some tea into both of them. Coming into the room, the wah plopped down on the couch and grabbed the remote so there wasn’t too much silence in the place.
  46.
  47.
  48.
  49. “In today’s news, reports are indicating that an infamous skunkta...HEY JERRY!...” She flipped through the channels, trying to find something before settling on a rerun of a science fiction classic tv. Sighing, she did a sideway glance at Seth.
  50.
  51.
  52.
  53. “Sorry, it’s so boring.
  54.
  55.
  56.
  57. “it’s okay. I’m just happy to be in pleasant company.”
  58.
  59.
  60.
  61. A blush spread across her cheek as she giggled. Clarissa was happy to be in his as well, as evidenced by the way her hand touched his and her tail wrapped around his leg. The two sat in silence for a good bit, just trying to enjoy the company of the other. Seth would occasionally stroke her thigh lightly causing her to coo in delight.
  62.
  63.
  64.
  65. “So what do you do for a living, Clarissa?
  66.
  67.
  68.
  69. She turned and rummaged through her bag before pulling out the badge that said UGS Librarian and had her picture. It was a simple badge with a barcode and a black magnet strip on the back. The badge had a picture of a golden lion on it with the background behind it, a dark shade of green.
  70.
  71.
  72.
  73. “I know you can read, but I’m a librarian at the local university. The head librarian in fact.”
  74.
  75.
  76.
  77. “OK! I see! Fascinating!”
  78.
  79.
  80.
  81. She nodded. “It really is. I do a lot of research and groundbreaking stuff. But that’s mostly in my spare time. I hold a number of patents but I gave them all to the university. That way the students benefit. In exchange I get ten percent of what the university makes off of them. How about you?”
  82.
  83.
  84.
  85. “I’m a teacher and a graphic designer.”
  86.
  87.
  88.
  89. The panda watched him in fascination. She had never met an artist before, so it was interesting to see one in the flesh. She made a mental giggle for being so silly.
  90.
  91.
  92.
  93. “Really? What type of things do you work on?”
  94.
  95.
  96.
  97. “I draw stuff. I mean I do like logos and things but mostly I draw a fun comic. Mostly with anthros involved though humans are too. It’s deals with the daily lives of a group of furs and fur-like creatures. I deal with everything. Death, love, even the little kits.”
  98.
  99.
  100.
  101. The wah nodded again. She liked those types of comics and bookmarked them every chance she gets. She’d have to look Seth up again to see if anything came up, unable to believe she missed his comic on the first go through.
  102.
  103.
  104.
  105. “I also take commissions for people to get themselves drawn in silly ways. It’s more a hobby for me. the income comes from teaching high school students.”
  106.
  107.
  108.
  109. “Yeah, I can see how that pays well. Well, well enough that you can get away with having a hobby and to be able to come and see me.”
  110.
  111.
  112.
  113. She saw his glass was mostly empty, so she grabbed the pitcher from the coffee table and poured some more in it, doing the same with her own. “Chips! I forgot chips!”
  114.
  115.
  116.
  117. She jumped up and grabbed some nacho cheese flavored ones from the cabinet and placed some in a bowl. The look on her face showed that she was mentally kicking herself for it. A patting reassurance from Seth was all Clarissa needed to calm down.
  118.
  119.
  120.
  121. “When was the last time you got to relax, Clarissa?”
  122.
  123. “Shortly after my transition. My parents kicked me out of their home. I spent what savings I had on a short vacation, with the university’s permission. Yes, they let me keep my job. The wonders of modern education...anyway, I took a short vacation to the beach of Crescent Bay before going back to wo...”
  124.
  125.
  126.
  127. Clarissa yawned deeply. It was nearing ten in the evening. Her eyes started to drift close as she spoke, with Seth’s soon following. Soon cute little snores exited her mouth as she leaned against the human, with him placing a kissing on her forehead and soon drifting off with her on the couch.
