• barry ; due to the many identities she’s forged and created, it has become a hobby of hers to construct different personas as well, sometimes even trying to scare her teammates by acting like those different personas to “test them”. hence, they like to call her ‘barry’, after the personality in the movie ‘split’ that usually has the most control over the main character and is the most ‘normal’ one, when she starts acting up again and want her to stop messing with their heads.

haneul is pretty hyperactive and hence, always needs something interesting to concentrate her energy on in order to stop her jumpy tendencies. hence, she loves exercising as it’s the most effective way to use up her energy and maintain a healthy body for her job at the same time.
due to how she likes to keep fit and healthy, haneul works pretty hard when exercising and brings that same diligence of hers into anything she does. although she seems very wild, when it comes to important tasks at hand, she switches almost instantly into work mode and concentrates extremely hard on getting the job done, working hard to achieve any goal she sets for herself.

• NARCISSISTIC + CONFIDENT + CHARMING
haneul knows her worth and her strengths. also due to the hard work she puts into it, she’s extremely proud of her forging abilities and physical strengths.

haneul is a huge meme due to her weird spontaneity as she loves trying out new and crazy things in her spare time. due to constantly having a large amount of energy, haneul is also always using it to wear out her other teammates by making them laugh their asses off at her dumb eccentrics.

having high levels of energy 24/7, haneul tends to use it on doing dumb things that help to lighten the mood between the members or simply just to make them smile and relax more. although she never tries to be the one to bring comfort to others, she’s not stupid enough to not be able to read atmospheres and will try to lighten any mild tension/awkwardness in the room with her weird antics but would never try to intervene in a full out argument/brawl as she hates getting caught up in things that she’s not totally in control of.

due to all the studying she had to do in order to reach her current forgery standard, haneul prides herself in being pretty well-read and hence, uses her knowledge to come up with creative plans and comebacks, especially when quarrelling with someone (though rare). although she gets angry/upset easily, haneul always tries to keep her cool and think logically in order to defeat her opponent, hence using her wit and sarcasm very often, till it’s become a habit for her to speak sarcastically as well, making her come across as cold and mean upon meeting her for the first time.

• TALKATIVE YET MYSTERIOUS
haneul has a mouth big enough to fit 20 rocks in (which is probably what everyone wants to do to shut her up). she is extremely chatty and will be part of any conversation when she finds a chance to smoothly interject. through this, her confidence and charisma, she’s always able to attract attention.
however, although she’s always talking to others and being her usual crazy self, she rarely talks about herself and somehow manages to shift the topic elsewhere when threatened to spill her secrets.

• SKEPTICAL + UNTRUSTING
despite always seeming so carefree around people generally, haneul forms judgements of others very quickly and likes to keep people at a safe distance. she finds it hard to trust people and rarely ever lets others break down her walls as she decides who gets to enter her fortress and doesn’t.
however, once she manages to find someone that’s genuine, she treasures that person as if they’re her last breath and would protect them at all costs.

• STRAIGHTFORWARD
as she works a lot with computers when working to forge identities, she prefers people that are straightforward and to the point, much like the computing systems that she works with.
hence, she can be very blunt with people and speaks her mind (especially when the opportunity of burning the opposite party arises).

in contrast to her usual fun-loving and wild personality, when faced with a job, haneul slips into her cool-headed, quiet and logical persona, thinking through every step she has to take and calculating her cause of action.
however, this part of her gets ticked off easily when people working with her are “incompetent” and are unable to keep up with her fast paced mind (where she gets energy from her usual energy).
hence, when the situation is serious/there is a fight that she’s not a part of, haneul never tries to intervene and prefers just sipping on the tea while watching the fight unfold. she does not like getting into trouble where she’s unsure of her odds of survival. hence, when it comes to serious arguments, haneul rarely gets involved unless she’d already been a part of the quarrel before things escalated and can’t really escape.

• RESPECTS AUTHORITY
despite her usual spontaneity, haneul respects all orders from those in charge and will not question them, even if she feels sketchy about it. however, she only takes orders from those that truly are who she believes are her “bosses” and if commanded by someone else, may do things unwillingly/rebel against them if what they’re doing are against her views.

although she isn’t particularly controlling over others, haneul likes holding the reins in her own life, hence liking to keep a safe amount of distance from others as having her own secrets and some breathing space helps her to feel in control. this is also why she prefers individual sports over team sports as she doesn’t feel very comfortable when other people have a role to play in her outcome.
due to this, she prefers staying out of arguments and fights with acquaintances as much as possible as she would never be certain of her fate afterwards though fights with enemy groups pose no problem to her as she believes that they can’t do much harm to her rather than those that are closer to her.

haneul was born as the second child by a korean mother and irish father and has an older brother, aka the perfect child, while haneul was merely labelled “the accident”.
though old-fashioned, her parents had always preferred male offspring over females due to how they’d end up carrying the family name. to add fuel to the fire, haneul’s brother was flawless and faultless. he topped his grade every year and could play multiple instruments and sports. though not useless, haneul was nothing in comparison to him.
even if she worked her ass off and got pretty good results, she was never able to achieve what her brother could, making it obvious who their parents doted on more.
although haneul’s brother, being the saint that he is, had always cared for her and showered her with the love that her parents never gave her, it was somehow more painful to want to hate him yet can’t find a reason to.
this caused her to isolate herself from her family in middle school. she stopped studying hard for her family and started working towards things that she was passionate about instead, like computer science and technology, spending more time enjoying her youth.
as she learnt more about hacking and other techie stuff, a pretty large illegal company made contact with her and invited her to join them. they offered to supply her with high-end gadgets that she would never be able to afford, and offered her special training in their field.
obviously happy that she’d finally been recognised by someone, she said yes without thinking too much about it and ended up joining the company, training to become a professional identification forger as well as an on-field professional, working very hard to reach her high level of skill.
despite it sounding really shady and scary, haneul has never felt more at home, getting the recognition she’d always wanted and could now be confident about herself, knowing that she had a secret ability that none of her family members knew of and she could beat them in that field with her eyes closed.
it was her passion for her work and how much she wanted to prove herself that drove her to agree with joining the group apart from how she wanted to prove that not all “criminals” were bad, like her.

━ first impression of him:
found him extremely charming initially but reminded herself to remain skeptical of him as he DID just kidnap her lmao. however, she found him very disarming and would accidentally/almost do what he asked her to easily as he’s just able to convince her to despite her skepticism.

━ timeline of the relationship:
initially, haneul is unusually cold towards her li as she hates how easily he gets her to open up and is quite uncomfortable and uneasy with it as she no longer feels in control around him like she usually does with others. however, her li is extremely sweet with her as he simply hopes to win her trust.
in the middle, haneul finally accepts that she’d been charmed by her li (like he has with her) and that he’s somehow really good at breaking down her walls. they become close friends as soon as she’s given in to his enthusiasm, getting into all kinds of trouble together (nothing serious though) and flirting with each other occasionally.
at the end, haneul is finally able to fully trust her li and allows herself to be vulnerable with him (though it took a lot of time). they are each other’s pillar of strength and although they get into loads of trouble together and are really bright and wild around others (still flirting with each other too), they’re able to be real and broken in front of each other.
