- International Love!
- (Part of the Hiker Clarence series of Pokemon Showdown mini-games)
- In this game, players must create a small dictionary of words and phrases from different languages just by chatting with people during battles on Pokemon Showdown. This game tests your ability to interact with people from different cultural backgrounds and learn something about their culture!
- One or more players hop on an alt and ladder in any tier they choose. They might ask the opponent if they speak another language besides English. If they do, ask them for a couple of random words in this language. Keep a notepad open to the side and record the different languages you encounter as well as the words they use. Try to get as many different words and languages as you can and appreciate the diversity of Pokemon players on the internet!
- EXAMPLE:
- SuperPokeTuber: hey quick question
- ivysaurtrainermiguel: yo
- SuperPokeTuber: do you speak any other language
- SuperPokeTuber: besides english i mean
- ivysaurtrainermiguel: ya
- ivysaurtrainermiguel: some spanish
- SuperPokeTuber: teach me a new word
- ivysaurtrainermiguel: ok...like what lol
- SuperPokeTuber: i always wonder
- SuperPokeTuber: how do you say towel
- ivysaurtrainermiguel: toalla
- ivysaurtrainermiguel: tho it depends on the size
- ivysaurtrainermiguel: if its a small towel we call it a toallita
- Then you could record "toalla" and "toallita" under Spanish! See how much you can learn in just one session!
- CAVEATS:
- -You can also record a whole phrase if that's what the person gives you
- -In the interest of not milking people for words, try to limit to only 3 words or phrases per person
- -You have to battle people randomly on the ladder. You can't go to the Chinese room and hit up people for challenges.
- -Rule 8 always applies. Do whatever you want to make it more interesting!
- Have fun!
