  1. Improving Indexing - Ecommerce Site
  2. I have an eCommerce site with 10,000+ products, but the actual product pages rank relatively poorly, and I want to find a way of improving the indexing.

  14. Does anyone have any suggestions for tools/packages for this?
  15.
  16. Additionally, it could be the uniqueness of the content, as the product descriptions are scraped from manufacturers or Amazon.
  17.
  18. Suggestions welcome please, and welcome any DM's if you want to see the site.
  19. Anyone?
  20. Use indexer like speed-links or elitelinkindexer
  21.
  22. Sit up straight while you talk and do your best to project. If you’ve ever taken any singing lessons, this is where it will pay off!
  23.
  24. Ultimately, a killer podcast voice combined with interesting topics is what keeps people coming back!
  25.
  26. 3. Importance of Transcriptions
  27.
  28. Transcribing your podcasts can be a tedious task – depending on how long your episodes are.
  29.
  30. There are plenty of tools out there that will transcribe your sound files.
  31.
  32. However, you will more than likely need to go through it and edit out the “ums” and the “uhs” to make the text more readable.
  33.
  34. Additionally, this is where you can go in and add keywords if need be!
  35.
  36. Given the demonstration from Google I/O, it seems as though transcriptions will be the primary method of picking out parts of an episode to match a search query.
  37.
  38. For us, we normally do hour-long podcast episodes, which means our transcripts are massive!
  39.
  40. Sifting through and cleaning up all the text generated from your sound files can take a while, but doing so can be the catalyst to help your podcast rank – at least at this point in time.
  41.
  42. 3. Create Chapters
  43.
  44. Splitting up your podcast into chapters is a fantastic way to make life easy for your listeners.
  45.
  46. They allow users to skip to the area most pertinent to what they’re looking for – without having to listen to the whole audio file.
  47.
  48. Additionally, having a table of contents is a great way to incorporate keywords onto the page:

  51.
  52. The chapter format can help you plan the framework of your podcast episodes before you record them.
  53.
  54. As you publish it, the episode will appear to users (and search engines) as much more organized.
  55.
  56. Now, while there isn’t hard evidence to prove that podcast chapters are your ticket to getting excellent rankings, in terms of SEO – this is a good rule to live by:
  57.
  58. If you make content easily accessible for users, the search engines will (ideally) reward you for it!
  59.
  60. Creating chapters will more than likely involve you listening to the sound file and marking down the exact time (hour: minute: second) that a subtopic comes up.
  61.
  62. If your podcasts follow an interview format, creating each chapter at the exact time you start asking a question is the way to go!
  63.
  64. 4. Do a Write-Up
  65.
  66. If your podcast episodes primarily live on your website, publishing a write up for each podcast should be a no-brainer!
  67.
  68. Not only does this provide a great deal of readable text on your podcast’s page, it gives listeners a good idea of what to expect before they hit play!
  69.
  70. Similar to how you would write any other piece of content on your website, be sure you include the keywords organically.
  71.
  72. Just because the page is technically for a podcast, you still need to follow the same contextual rules with written content.
  73.
  74. But if you do a write-up, do you need to transcribe the podcast?
  75.
  76. Yes.
  77.
  78. The write up should mainly be seen as a summary of your podcast – with a few actionable points.

  81.
  82. The transcription is the nitty-gritty detail that helps Google understand where your main points are within the audio to properly serve to users.
  83.
  84. Being as how podcasts in the SERPs are still new, and we don’t know the exact extent to how well Google deciphers audio, the more text you can supplement, the better!
  85.
  86. Summary
  87.
  88. Podcasting has always been a fantastic way to humanize your brand, showcase expertise, and build relationships.
  89.
  90. It looks as though podcast SEO will have a considerable impact in the coming decade!
  91.
  92. Hopefully, this post has given you a good idea of how to start an SEO-friendly podcast, or tweak your existing one.

  105.
  106. Phrases that three or four years ago would have been foreign to the average consumer are now creeping into our everyday life.
  107.
  108. Curbside pickup has been around for restaurants like Red Robin and Applebee’s for some time.
  109.
  110. But if you take a moment to look around, you may notice grocery stores like Walmart, Whole Foods, and Kroger now with entire sections of their parking lots reserved for buy online, pick up in-store (BOPIS) customers.
