  2. <DM> To recount the premise of this quest...
  3. <DM> Following Thoughter's defeat at Zora's Domain, the Salvadman Army has been nearly wiped out and peace has been restored to East Hyrule for the time being. While Thoughter himself is not dead, he has not been seen or heard of since and all the generals except General Solar were killed at Zora's Domain. With General Solar taking the throne in such a disastrous state the army is in, they were forced to hold a truce with the Moblin Army and no
  4. <DM> fighting has occurred since. From then, groups of former Salvadman Bandits have been making an effort to make peace with the Moblins and other races.
  5. <DM> Recently, Nightmare Beasts have been emerging from Thoughter's Fortress and have started terrorizing everything around it while an impenetrable white mist prevents anyone from getting in. Seeing this as a breach of truce, the Moblin Army has ordered an invasion into Thoughter's Fortress to put down the Salvadman Army once and for all. They have been unable to get through the white mist and have enlisted the help of your party to get in.

  9. <Darte> Stands before ~~Magus'~~ Thoughter's ominous fortress.

  11. <DM> *You find yourself on the cold stone bridge connecting you and Thoughter's fortress. To your side is a group of Moblins and a young hylian lady. Thoughter's Fortress, covered in a dreamy white mist, looms ahead of you in the distance*

  13. <DM> *the moblins turn around to you. They start speaking, though you have trouble following them*
  14. * Darte winces. "Slow down. Nayru's Currents, who thought it'd be a good idea to work with Moblins..."
  15. <DM> [Moblin] Dat fortress. Nightmarish beasts keep pouring out. We need you to clear them. Hylia lady Mima here will dispel the barrier for us - we charge in after she dispels the barrier*
  16. <DM> *That Hylian lady, presumably Mima, turns towards you*
  17. <DM> [Mima] Now's the time. Quick, follow me!
  18. * Sephiroth quickly follows the Mima.
  19. <DM> *Mima runs off towards the fortress, moving into the mist.
  20. * Melizea also quickly follows.
  21. * Darte sighs. "So much for formulating a plan of attack. Right." He trots off after Sephiroth and Mima.
  22. <DM> *She appears to be consumed by the fog? As you follow, you too are consumed by the fog... Game ov- Just kidding! You find yourself innundated with a sense of relaxation and serenity was you are all covered in fog. Shortly afterwards, you can hear singing.*
  23. <DM> *Sephiroth and Darte, The song being sung happens to be the Ballad of the Windfish. Want to join in?*
  24. * Sephiroth pulls out the Thunder Drums and follows along.
  25. * Darte squints. "Thoughter's tricks, same as Lord Jabu-Jabu. Time to give chase." He pulls out his Surf Harp and plays along.

  30. * Melizea momentarily stands there.
  31. <DM> *The Moblins immediately follow up by charging into the open gate doors after Sephiroth. Mima finishes singing and turns back to you*
  32. <Melizea> (err, still*)
  33. <DM> [Mima] I will meet you again later.
  34. <DM> *Mima walks back and appears to vanish in a flash of white light. Darte, you may recall that flash of white light being similar.
  35. <DM> *familiar
  36. * Darte muses at the flash, but dismisses it quickly. "Hmm. Strange, but helpful, at least. No sign of the nightmare beasts yet. Think we should chase after our piggie friends?"
  37. <Melizea> "I suppose we could."
  38. <Melizea> "That is, unless you believe there is an alternative action."
  39. * Darte rolls his shoulders. "Could always leave them to their own devices. The clumsy things will probably make a good distraction while we pursue more... fruitful inspection of the castle."
  40. <DM> *Sephiroth, you step through the gate to see a hazy courtyard. The white dreamy mist underfoot is accompanied by clouds of it above, giving it a sensation of utopia. On the ground, Moblins can be seen fighting Mad Walkers and a few Keaton soldiers. The door into the fortress itself you cannot make out but it seems nobody is guarding it.*
  41. <Melizea> "Surveying the area may be viable."
  42. <Melizea> "Of course, caution must be taken."
  43. * Sephiroth waits for the slowpokes to catch up.
  44. * Darte sighs and chases after Sephiroth. "C'mon. Gotta make sure the big guy knows the plan, at least."
  45. <Melizea> "Indeed."
  46. * Melizea follows the rest of the party.
  47. <Melizea> "Name's Melizea, by the way. You may call me Mel or Meli."
  48. <DM> *Melizea and Darte, you both catch up to Sephiroth. While it seems the Moblins are holding them off well, the maddening dead aura the Mad Walkers give off begins to affect you and everyone else alive including the Keaton Soldiers... Might want to start moving before you take damage.*
  49. * Darte beckons Sephiroth. "C'mon. We can make our rounds outside the main courtyard while they're busy with these goons."
  50. * Sephiroth follows the Darte.
  51. * Melizea also follows Darte and the rest, wherever they decide to head.
  52. * Darte circles around the fighting, attempting to keep out of sight as best he's capable as he heads towards the open doors.

  64. <DM> *The three of you make it to the open doors safely. However, the Keaton soldiers barely catch Sephiroth sneaking around and sends magical flares into the door. These are harmless, but these will alert others to your presence
  65. <Melizea> "I suppose that'll be a predicament."
  66. * Darte gives a fishy hiss as he steps through the doorway, the flares zipping past. "Well, so much for the moblins being a total distraction."
  67. * Sephiroth steps through the doorway after the Darte Board.
  68. <Melizea> "Alas, it may be necessary to improvise."
  69. <DM> *You enter the fortess proper. You step into what appears to be the grand foyer, lined with unnaturally white stone for the walls and floor. Underfoot is a deep red carpet trimmed with gold snaking through the foyer. There are exits West, North, South and you are at the East end*
  70. <DM> *Suddenly, you see a giant Stalfos crash down into the centre of the floor with a pair of Keaton Swordmasters beside it, blocking the north exit*
  71. * Sephiroth is confused. "What's a centre?"
  72. <Melizea> "So... Any plans of approach?"
  73. * Sephiroth attempts to sidestep to the south exit.
  74. * Darte quickly consults with the others. "Guess we know which way Thougher likely lies. We've got a shot at these, maybe, but I'm for nicking out to the south."
  75. * Darte nods and follows Sephiroth, skirting the forces with a grin and a wave. "Smell ya later."
  76. <Melizea> "I suppose that is viable."
  77. * Melizea follows the rest of the party.
  78. <DM> *You end up in a long snaking hallway that bends to the West, with the same unnatural dreamy atmosphere the grand foyer had. There are doors going north, East and West from the hallway
  79. <DM> *In the middle of a hallway appears to be a drowsy Keaton soldier, appearing to not be alert to the commotion going on.*
  80. <Melizea> "Hmm..."
  81. * Darte looks to the others and quietly encircles his wrists with his fingers in an upheld signal, and with a tilt of his head.
  82. * Melizea silently stands in place.
  83. <Sephiroth> (So let me get this straight, there's two "north" exits on this hallway?"
  84. <Darte> (Think the snaking of the passage means it turned, and we're coming through the east entrance)
  85. <Sephiroth> (Kind of hard to visualize "Long, snaking hallway that bends to the west." ... Does it do a zigzag pattern? Is it an L shape?)
  86. <DM> (You are at the north end of the hallway. It continues south for about 60 feet until it bends to the West.)
  87. <Darte> (ahh)
  88. <Sephiroth> (I'm assuming there's an eastward door before the bend then?)
  89. <Sephiroth> (Just trying to visualize the room, that's all)
  90. <DM> *There are is an eastward and a westward door before the bend. After the bend comes a northward door and another westward door*
  91. <Sephiroth> (Okay, got it. Thanks)
  92. * Darte slides forward, attempting to Sneak-Up on the guard.
  93. * Sephiroth attempts to tiptoe to the eastward door.
  94. * Melizea stays put, just in case.
  95. <DM> (Both Sephiroth and Darte, roll Wisdom)

  130. <DM> *You enter what appears to be a small armory, with a couple of benches and armor racks. It appears to be empty at first glance, staring at you with a hollow feeling. There is a door going south on addition to the door you entered through*
  131. * Darte beckons Melizea over. "You. Got any rope or bindings? Figure we might make use of this fellow when they wake."
  132. * Melizea shakes her head, no.
  133. * Sephiroth pokes a random armor rack.
  134. <DM> *Sephiroth, the armor rack pokes you back according to Newton's laws of physics. Because of your Neutral armor, you take no damage*
  135. * Sephiroth is intrigued.
  136. * Darte considers. "Well..." He takes his hookshot out and uses it as an improvised rope.
  137. <DM> *You pull the hookshot
  138. <DM> *'s chain out and wrap it around the Keaton Soldier. It feels a bit rough at first, but it is better than nothing*
  139. * Sephiroth heads to the south door and inspects it.
  140. * Darte shrugs. "Right. Let's check out this other door, Sephiroth can probably fend for himself." He moves towards the west door.
  141. <DM> *You inspect the south door. It appears to be locked. Might want to find a key or will you try picking the lock?.
  142. * Melizea follows Darte, nodding head in agreement.
  143. <DM> (Which other door Darte and Melizea?)
  144. <Melizea> (Darte mentioned west door)
  145. * Sephiroth wonders if he has anything that can even attempt to pick the lock. o.O;
  146. <DM> *Melizea and Darte, you inspect the westward door. It appears to have "Mess Hall" written on it with scrawny writing*
  147. * Darte squints. "Hmm. Hungry?"
  148. * Melizea quietly mouths "Not really, though it may prove to be useful."
  149. <DM> *Sephiroth, you come up short with anything that can be used to pick the lock*
  150. * Sephiroth shrugs and returns to the hallway.
  151. * Darte nods, stepping away as he takes a mental note, and nods at the emerging Sephiroth. "Nothing?"
  152. * Sephiroth shakes his head.
  153. <DM> *You can hear banging on the north door in the hallway. Might want to move
  154. * Sephiroth goes 'round the bend of the hallway and inspects the western exit at the end of the hallway.
  155. * Melizea sighs momentarily.
  156. * Darte nods and picks up their new bundle, trotting after Sephiroth.
  157. * Melizea follows Sephiroth and Darte.
  158. <DM> *Sephiroth you inspect the west exit of the hallway. The room appears to have a sign with messy writing, named "Plant Room"
  159. * Sephiroth attempts to enter this "Plant Room". ... Hoping not to come across any Piranha Plants...
  160. <DM> *You open the door and enter the room*
  161. <Melizea> (brb, food checking, on autofollow)
  162. * Darte waits outside, head-fin flapping idly, trying to peek through the door past Sephiroth.
  163. <DM> *Pollen and moisture fills the air as the ceiling above has glass holes to let sunlight dance into the room. Where the sunlight hits, various vegetables and herbs grow. But among them seem to be a few plants that seem off...*
  164. <Darte> (There is a north door adjacent, right?)
  165. <DM> (Yes)
  166. * Darte turns to examine that door, somewhat expecting this to be another entrance to the mess hall.
  167. <DM> *The northward door is an entrance to the Mess Hall*
  168. <Melizea> (back)
  169. * Sephiroth pokes one of the plants that seems ... off. ...
  170. * Darte nods, beckoning to Melizea as he follows Sephiroth in.
  171. <DM> *The plant immediately grows into a flower with red spots and... you get the gist. Sephiroth, roll Power!*
  172. * Melizea follows the rest of the party.

  182. * Melizea stands there calmly stating "Indeed."
  183. <Melizea> "Definitely not the first carnivorous plant I've seen."
  184. * Darte considers. "Your desert full of 'em? Guess it makes sense, if it can't get water any other way."
  185. <DM> *Following that, two more Pirahna plants emerge and start snapping at Sephiroth. The snapping creates noise, following it is a rumble from within a cabinet*
  186. <Melizea> "Indeed."
  187. <Darte> "Also a good way to set a trap if anyone's following-- oh, boy, maybe it's time to move."
  188. <Melizea> "I suppose it is for the best."
  189. <DM> (Clarification: They aren't attacking him, just doing that snapping Pirahna plants normally do)
  190. * Sephiroth backs away from the Prianha plants.
  191. <Melizea> "Though, be wary of these plants."
  192. * Sephiroth approaches the rumbling cabinet and pokes the cabinet door.
  193. <Melizea> "They appear to be more flexible than you may realize."
  194. <DM> *The cabinet door bursts open to reveal a small masked guy in a red robe who then runs away... Was that a Shy Guy?*
  195. * Darte nods. "Right..." He points towards the cabinet. "Any chance we can knock that over, or move it toward the door? Seems a pleasant surprise."
  196. <Darte> ...
  197. <DM> *You can hear knocking on the exit door.
  198. <Darte> "N-nope, never mind. Was that a... mime?"
  199. * Sephiroth ducks into the cabinet and closes the door.
  200. <Melizea> "I suppose a bigger surprise is that guy running."
  201. <Melizea> "And perhaps."
  202. * Darte slips back out the way they came.
  203. * Melizea follows Darte.
  204. <DM> *The exit door opens up to reveal the two Keaton Swordmasters from before, who quickly deduce that somebody had been in this room from observing blood on the Piranha plant that bit Sephiroth*
  205. <DM> *Darte and Melizea, roll Courage or Wisdom to slip past them*

  221. * Darte considers, then places the tied-up Keaton in front of the doorway as quietly as he can manage, then attempts to slip just inside the door to the mess hall.
  222. * Melizea is still following Darte.
  223. * Sephiroth tries to remain as quiet as he can.
  224. <DM> *The Piranha plants continue snapping at the swordmasters for a moment before settling down. The two swordmasters look closely for the intruders. Unable to find them, one of the Swordmasters kneels over and begins charging for a Soul Echolocation...*
  225. <DM> *Meanwhile Darte, you enter a long hallway with a large table dominating the centre of it. Towards the walls is a series of pantries. There are exits North, South and East*
  226. <DM> *At the table is a pair of Keaton grunts knocked out on the table with bottles of beer in their hands. Seems as if they got drunk*
  227. * Darte glances at the pantries briefly, looking for anything useful beyond standard fare; restoratives and the like. Beyond that, he's keeping an ear out for commotion from the other room, staying by the south door.
  228. * Melizea continues to follow Darte into the mess hall, if not already there yet.
  229. * Sephiroth pops out of the cabinet and attempts to stab the charging swordmaster with his Masamune.
