  1. Good Morning[?] Nuno
  2.
  3. I'd like to thank you for allowing us to have a meeting with you today.
  4.
  5. Currently, everyone present is dissatisfied with our third year. We feel unhappy in various areas concerning either the stories we are working on or the people that we were assigned to. Most of these factors are entirely out of our control, and as such we need to keep the other members of group in mind as well. For the majority of us (if not all), this has made us miserable to the point that it has become detrimental to our work ethic, and this has ultimately resulted in a negative effect on the quality of our work.
  6.
  7. We understand that animation is a collaborative effort, and that we should be working alongside our group regardless of our personal opinions, however, we feel that we should not be paying as much money as we are, merely to work on something we can barely tolerate. We also understand that the school is trying to emulate the working environment within the animation industry, however workers in an actual industry-based environment are financially compensated for their work and thus this comparison is not entirely accurate.
  8.
  9. With all that being said, we feel that the best option for us at present, is for the six of us to form our own group. This way, we will have minimal impact on our current groups and still be passionate and confident in our work, as we do not have confidence in what we are working on currently. We are fully aware that time is not something we have, however we have a script, art direction, character designs and concept artwork. We are a balanced group of students, with a skillset ranging from 2d, to 3d. From preproduction all the way to compositing.
  10.
  11. Lastly, we would like the school to give us until Monday to prove that we are competent enough to complete this story. We plan to meet Monday's deadline for a 2d animatic, which we will be working on after hours, as our current group's work takes priority. Should we fail to meet this deadline, then we will accept our situation and continue to work in our current groups as we have been.
  12.
  13. However if we do manage to make this deadline, we would like to please request that the school please allow us to create our own group and develop this story.
