Four Fates Under the Southern Sun 3.5, Session 39

The party briefly deliberates on their course of action, and decide to visit the Enclave briefly for supplies.

They engage in a bit of trading at the compound before moving on and resuming their journey.

On the way back, they ran into Holow, who, having concluded her planning with Dianna in Gol-Galoon, decided to check in on the party. After checking in with Larin in the Free Folks camp, she followed the leads she was given to pursue them part of the way to the Enclave of the Unseen Eye.

Both Holow and the rest of the party took pause at a strange bare dry patch in the midst of a flooded passage. After some scrutiny, they engaged in combat with the concealed Duergar ambush party awaiting them.

The party emerged victorious, and accepted the yield of the Duergar soldiers, after evidently their Warmaster was slain. Holow spoke to them at length, and they seemed to accept her as their new warmaster, given the shame they faced at failing their master and inability to return to their home. Similarly, Ryardynin cemented himself in their minds as the 'mastermind', which they seemed to accept. Their former master appeared to be both a warmaster and mastermind.

Duergar in tow, the party returned to the Free Folks camp. They negotiated their good treatment with Larin, after discussing the events which transpired in their absence. They discussed the circumstances involving Bertulf and Marty's reincarnation, and Ryardynin spoke at length with Simeon.

He discovered Simeon formerly was a cage fighter in Kor, and was aging out of the profession. There is no retirement for cage fighters in Kor, and every day it seemed as if his death loomed closer. He made the decision to flee, as it was very unlikely he could change his circumstances. This resolution, although ultimately successful, filled him with guilt over abandoning his people and his honor. This led to his apparent alcoholism and life of regrets. Ryardynin mediated this using powerful magic to absolve him of his guilt and affliction. Given how kind Ryardynin had been to him, he decided to accept his offer to stave off the upheaval and join him at the Guildhall of the Archons.
