  8. Brimestone vs. Human Torch
  9.
  10. There was a lot of back and forth in this debate, with many good (and bad) points brought up. The debate spent a lot of time going back and forth with the two debaters reiterating basically the same points, with Wolf using his fly analogy to point out that it would be difficult for Brimstone to hit Hammond, and Corvette arguing that many of Wolf's win cons don't work on Brimstone due to his stellar make up.
  11.
  12. In the end I agreed with a hodge-podge mix of the opponents positions. Wolf's argument that Brimstone will have difficulty tagging Hammond was convincing enough, but on the other hand most of Corvette's rebuttals against the Human Torch's win conditions/offensive powers were never sufficiently rebutted, in my opinion. With this in mind, the real clincher in the debate was Wolf's ability to argue and uphold the idea that Brimstone can't hurt the Human Torch, referencing his past experience with stellar level heat.
  13.
  14. In the end, I was convinced this wouldn't be an easy fight for either characters, but that while Human Torch's ability to cool/manipulate/whatever Brimstone would likely take a while to take him out, it would do so more effectively than Brimstone's own offensive agains the Human Torch (especially when his ability to hit him is considered), as such the Human Torch wins.

  19. Amazo vs. Ryuko
  20.
  21. This entire debate can basically be summarized into two core arguments:
  22.
  23. * How do Amazo's and Ryuko's KE durability and strength compare
  24.
  25. * Does Ryuko's scissor blade compromise Amazo's copying due to it exploiting a weakness Ryuko has
  26.
  27. Throughout the debate Wolf made excellent points regarding transfer of kinetic energy and how Amazo's KE strength and dura were at worst equal if not better than any feat Ryuko had. Corvette made some interesting, for lack of a better term, arguments that, at least for me, muddled his argument more than helped. The scissor blade argument was a bit iffier for me, as while I can see where Corvette is coming from, I don't think he ever made a significant case for why it would counter Amazo's natural/previously existing healing factor.
  28.
  29. In the end however, neither of these arguments decided the fight. Wolf's argument that Ryuko has no real counter to heat vision was killer. Corvette attempted to counter it, using a cannon feat, however its a lesson he should've learned from last round. Using explosions for heat resistance is iffy at best, and I was largely unconvinced. This coupled with his superior movement speed, gives Amazo the win.

  34. Agent Smith vs. Aku
  35.
  36. This was by far the weakest of the three debates. It kinda meandered in the second responses into a "Aku vs. Smith's clones" argument vs. a Aku vs. the main Smith. Wolf's core win condition was Smith's blatant superior physicals, which Corvette never really countered. Instead he opted to argue that Aku had his own win condition, via piercing, that also oen shot and choose to highlight Aku's ability to crush armies.
  37.
  38. Really, all that matters in this fight is Aku's in character course of action. While in round 3 and to some extent 2, corvette argues Aku would open with his piercing attack against an army, I was unconvinced. Characterization early on, coupled with Wolf's argument lead to significant doubt on the topic, for me. Realistically as it stands if Aku doesn't open with piercing he loses. This is far less likely that Smith's relatively simple "get near Aku and punch him once" strategy. Overall Smith wins.
