Rai

The world itself is rather chaotic, with monsters and demons roaming the world in search of prey. However, there are a few large scale tribes and nations who have been rising and falling for centuries. Nonetheless, everything is currently rather stable save for the oldest one growing rather rotten... However, I'll go in depth later for that.

The Rai (Royal Artesian Institute) is essentially a 2000 year old monarchy, and has finally gone south, with the first 1000 years being sort of a golden age where practices and technology reached a peak. The greatest defenses of the Rai were weapons known as Links, where there were 84 made and bestowed upon men and women of great valor who could wield them, however no one is immortal. These weapons were scattered about and several of them were lost however during a civil war 500 years ago, with the year now being 6400. Of course, some of these weapons could now be scattered globally rather than within the expansive territory of the Rai.

You are a part of the revolution, in an attempt to overthrow it. You're a part of a subdivision known as the Wintersong, who do the dirty work for the revolution and take out corrupt officials within the Rai, and attempt to expose the emperor and take him out along with his adviser Cuth. Some Links have been recovered by the Revolution and bestowed upon you, and you are expected to master them and use them for your own purposes, along with fighting the Rai. Your efforts could help the empire rise or fall with ease, but you definitely don't want to be caught, or you'll be tortured and killed, along with your Link being taken away and put in storage to be used against your allies.
