If I've found content on archive.org that is 7 years old that is still pertinent is is that view by search engines?

Are you using on the original domain it was posted on? IE you've bought an expired domain and you're reviving it from the archive.org.

Or are you planning on posting it on a different domain? That's a little riskier as Google has seen it before on the original domain.

It really domains on the purpose you're using it for, if it's for your money site, then no, I would recommend against it.
A method was posted here before by scraping content from expired domains using archive. It was pointed in the discussion that it's useful for just tier links. Money site won't be safe and you could try rewriting them if you've enough time.

I do it all the time. No issues for my money sites. If the domain gets ‘acquired’ and they reuse the content, I simply find more.

Thanks for the comments. It would be used on a different domain (NOT a money site). More of an corporate site. I'm going to be required to do some re-writing to remove their branding and adding ours.

I recall this being in a thread before, I couldn't find it when I searched. It's not a money site and I planned on doing some re-writing. When I used online plagiarism checkers, it comes up clean.

Curious, how much re-writing of the article do you do? (5%, 10%, 50%)?
If it is unique, none. If it is 90% unique (copyscape), I fix the 10%.
I did this a year back, I did a very basic seo boot for a website after a month it started generating leads 20 per day.
My friend has been using expired articles for SEO and it works. With a little bit of tweaking (he uses smallseotools) it also looks unique or at least not completely copied. But you are using it as a branding mechanism, you should try finding a content writer or writing it yourself.
