- -- ✨ ♀️ Care (ケア) the Pikachu (sometimes a (Alolan) Raichu!) --
- Ball: Pokeball
- Marks: Gameboy
- Size: Average
- Nature: Sassy (takes siestas)
- Met: 05/25/2024
- (Hidden Power: Dragon)
- I consider Care to be my starter/partner Pokemon! She might have the most complicated lore, haha.
- It started when I was a kid; my bio dad won me a jumbo Pikachu from the county fair. I barely remember it, but I loved it a lot, and I definitely want to collect another one someday. To go off on a quick tangent, I was always interested in getting into Pokemon, but it never seemed like the right time; I got my first game Black when I was 15 but didn't play much of it, I played FireRed on emulator, but my interest first sparked when I got into Moon in 2017. I got into SOS chaining for shinies after finding my first full odds shiny (Boldore!), and hyperfixated for quite a few months. To this day, Alola is still my favorite region.
- However, my interest in Pokemon didn't FULLY kick off until 2024, and Care herself came to me as an adult. First, I got her as my first shiny in Pokemon Sleep, only 5 days into playing! And then I received my Pocket Pikachu 2 shortly afterwards. My roommate helped me come up with the name Care, partially inspired by the web series Petscop, and because of the Sleep shiny, I decided to see the Pocket Pikachu as female and shiny as well :-)
- After that, I hunted for her using the Odd Egg in Crystal VC, and for my birthday in July, the #1 thing I wanted the most was the official 2011 shiny Pikachu plush so I could have Care IRL, and my BF was nice enough to buy her for me! You will see me post a lot of pictures of her and I take her everywhere with me <3
- Plush Care has a square tail (technically, so does Pocket Pikachu Care), and if/when anyone says she's male because of that, my response is that she's a gen 2 Pikachu, and that gender differences weren't implemented until gen 4. I like the heart tail, I think it's cute, so she can be depicted both ways because I make the rules and I can do whatever I want. She's kind of turning into this "you can see her however you want to" sort of thing, at least in my head? For instance, some people see her as trans because of the tail thing, and while I don't, you can and that's fine with me!
- I've considered making "the definitive Care" (I guess in my head) evolve into an Alolan Raichu, but I'm really hesitant to do that. It would kind of ruin the whole "seeing her how you want" thing a little, and evolving her when her plush form is a Pikachu would make the plush form less "real" to me, I guess. So, I don't know. Alolachu Care is probably just going to be another version of her rather than THE REAL CARE.
- There's a real multiverse of Cares that is continuing to expand, and I love them all.
- -- ♀️ Ruthie (ルウシイ) the Yanma (sometimes a Yanmega!) --
- Ball: Pokeball
- Marks: N/A
- Size: Average
- Nature: Jolly (loves to eat)
- Met: 04/05/2024
- I first encountered Ruthie as my starter in the Emerald romhack, Emerald Rogue. Very underrated btw, you should go play it. Anyway, this was before the recent 2.0 update that changed absolutely everything, so she isn't my starter anymore, but I still have the old version so I don't lose her. I want to figure out a way to transfer her to real Pokemon games so I can keep the real Ruthie forever.
- I named her after a family diner in a small town called Hill City in the state of Minnesota. My family and I used to vacation there every summer to visit my grandparents when I was a kid growing up, and Ruthie's was one of my FAVORITE things we would go do while we were there. And in the summer, there were always so many dragonflies, my mom kind of made them a family symbol or something. I'm still attached to them. That and Sparx the Dragonfly in the OG Spyro the Dragon Trilogy for the PS1 is my favorite character.
- UPDATE: I ended up breaking her out of ROMHACK JAIL. To do this, I put the save file into PKHeX, and then dragged Ruthie into another, blank instance of PKHeX, but this one being set to gen 7. I had to modify her a little to make her legal; I lied and said I caught her in Ruin Valley at level 18 in LeafGreen, because Yanma are actually in that game and not in Emerald (I wish I didn't have to change this, but that's okay). But after that, all I had to do was open PKSM on my 3DS and scan a QR code generated by PKHeX to put Ruthie into my boxes in my file of Moon! And then I transferred her from Moon -> Bank -> HOME -> Violet!
- -- 💠 ♀️ Schierke (シールケ) the Mismagius --
- Ball: Pokeball
- Marks: N/A
- Size: XXL
- Nature: Gentle (quick tempered)
- Met: 06/01/2024
- (Pokérus: cured)
- Schierke is one of my party members from my Pearl playthrough! I started the playthrough for Safari Week this year back in the beginning of June, and I haven't actually finished the game yet, I still need to level grind and fight the Elite 4...
- My boyfriend named her for me; I wanted him to since he likes Mismagius for randomizer reasons, and he is a HUGE Beserk fan, so he named her after this little witch character. Her name is apparently German and it's pronounced She-roo-kay! She quickly became one of my favorites, and now Mismagius is like, my favorite ghost of all time? I think Poltchageist is second and Froslass is third.
- I also have a version of her in Pokemon GO that was a shadow Pokemon I purified (https://ibb.co/sRGrH0X) (typo in the screenshot!!!), so I consider her being purified to be part of her Lore (that's what the weird blue emoji next to her name is supposed to represent haha). Mostly because the white sparkles and her learning Return is really cute to me :')
- Oh yeah! My entire team managed to catch Pokerus! I don't know exactly when, but when I got to the Pokecenter right before the Elite Four after traveling through Victory Road, Nurse Joy told me that my whole party was infected! I actually had NO idea what it was, and my ignorance paired with the timing made me assume it was plot related? I only figured out it was a REALLY RARE event (even rarer than shinies!) when a streamer I watch informed me haha. They've since been cured and I didn't really infected anyone else with it on purpose, just my Fly "slave" Charap the In-Game trade Chatot and the Valley Windworks Drifloon (I named her Wendy) iirc. But I'm excited that she has it! It's a memento of our adventure together!
- I'll update the stats above when I actually transfer her to Gen 9. I will probably backup Pearl and do that so she will still be there as well. UPDATE: She's BIG!!!
- -- ♂️ Momo (モモ) the Dewott --
- Ball: Pokeball
- Marks: N/A
- Size: XS
- Nature: Rash (mischievous)
- Met: 04/02/2011
- Momo is my VERY FIRST Pokemon ever! I mentioned above in my Care Lore that my first game was Black when I was 15. I was very active on Flipnote Hatena at the time, and all my friends were into Pokemon and playing Black & White. I really wanted to join them, so I asked for Black, and I chose Oshawott as my starter. I don't remember playing much unfortunately; I was much more preoccupied with chatting with my friends.
- But apparently, I played more than I realized-- I didn't remember ANYTHING about my Oshawott, but my little brother (who stole my Black cartridge as a kid LOL) apparently used Checkpoint to backup my save and recently put my original Pokemon into HOME, including my very first starter. When I said I wanted him back, I was very surprised to receive a level 28 DEWOTT; I didn't remember him evolving at all! Apparently I had named him Momo, and I had used my Flipnote nickname as my OT.
- I love him so much and I'm really glad I have him. I want to do a challenge playthrough of Violet where I only use my dream/favorites team, so I don't want to level him up too much (he is currently at 32 since he was in my party while I was catching a few Pokemon, but I've been keeping him in HOME so he can keep me company on my phone). Also it's mentioned in his stats above, but he is SO SMALL!!!
- He is the only Pokemon on this list not allowed to evolve. Not because I have anything against Samurott, but because I want him to stay the way I left him all those years ago. He's too special to me. Plus, Dewott is my favorite in the line, so it feels too fitting. <3
- -- ♀️ Saturn (サターン) the Dragonite --
- Ball: Ultra ball
- Marks: N/A
- Size: XXL
- Nature: Quiet (can take hits)
- Met: 09/08/2024
- I think I've had an interest in Dragonite for awhile; it's just such a cute dragon, you know? But I didn't explore that interest for a long time, until this year, and then it quickly started rising up my favorites list. And now I'm pretty sure it's my FAVORITE Pokemon? It's such a cozy Pokemon, it just looks like it'd give great hugs, and you can nap against it's stomach and fly on it's back. I've also grown more and more attached to dragons in the last few years.
- BUT, I never actually HAD a Dragonite until Violet! Specifically, I ended up catching the Electric Tera Dragonair. I still don't remember where it spawns, let me Google... okay, so apparently it's off the coast of South Province Area Six? I don't remember it being there AT ALL. Here's a Youtube link if you want to catch it for yourself: https://youtu.be/mAS7FXUTvYQ?si=UEEdUUJWhSDrSqwf
- Anyway, back on topic. When I caught Saturn, she was literally ONE level away from being a Dragonite, so I just used a candy on her haha. I think a lot of people prefer Dratini and Dragonair, but Dragonite is definitely my favorite! Though I have a little pink Dratini I caught recently named Noodles that I'm hesitating to evolve because he's XS and SO CUTE, but I have to eventually to see just how much smaller he is than Saturn. ;_;
- Fun fact: I named her Saturn because apparently there's this HUGE storm on the planet Saturn called THE DRAGON STORM. Isn't that so sick??? I thought so. It really fits her Electric Tera!
- This one was really rambly, haha. Uh, last thing, Saturn would be the "ace" of my team! I love her so much.
- -- ♂️ Drip (ドリープ) the Smeargle --
- Ball: Luxury ball
- Marks: N/A
- Size: Average
- Nature: Quiet (mischievous)
- Met: 10/26/24
- Smeargle was a HUGE part of my Moon experience back in 2017 due to me getting into SOS chaining; I actually chained for a shiny Smeargle so I could show off that my shiny hunting Smeargle WAS SHINY lol.
- Drip is not that Smeargle though-- I wanted to name a non-shiny Smeargle after my (now broken due to being run over by a car) Tangle. See, there's a whole set of Tangles called the Masterpiece series (https://www.tanglecreations.com/collections/tanglejr/products/tangle-masterpiece), and my favorite one is called Drip-- it's white and looks like it's covered in paint, which I thought would be perfect for a Smeargle. But I want to use this as a naming scheme for Smeargles in general, and have named my current shiny Smeargle I use for catching things in Violet Mache after another Tangle in this set. :>
- Anyway, after my Tangle got ran over by a car (as I mentioned earlier), it became even more special to me, and as a result, so did Smeargle. I wanted to use Smeargle on a competitive team and WIN. I had heard how good of a support Smeargle could be in doubles! (Not that this is a competitive team, but I digress...)
- So that plus how attached SOS chaining had already made me attached to Smeargle made me decide that Drip had to be the 6th member of my team. And I decided I wanted him to be from Moon! So I caught him today as of typing this (10/26/24) and transferred him up to Violet.
- -- ✨ ♀️ Mutsu (ムツ) the Applin (non-battling traveling companion) --
- Ball: Quick ball
- Marks: Gourmand
- Size: Small
- Nature: Brave (sturdy body)
- Met: 10/14/24
- Our first Emotional Support Little Guy! I became attached to Applin because of Kieran after playing through the DLC. I've BARELY played Shield and I will get back to my file and actually finish it someday, so Kitakami was my introduction to this guy! Hydrapple is probably my favorite evo, but I don't think I'll ever evolve Mutsu, she's just too cute as an Applin. ;_;
- I can definitely imagine just carrying her around on my shoulder or in my hoodie pocket, especially since she's a small Applin. I can't even imagine an XS Applin, or God forbid, a TEENY XXXS Applin. What are they, microscopic??????
- Fun fact: Mutsu (aka Crispin) apples are large green apples introduced in 1949 in Japan and are a hybrid between Golden Delicious and Indo Apples. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutsu_(apple)
- -- ♂️ Nimbus (ニンバス) the Mareep (non-battling traveling companion) --
- Ball: Quick ball
- Marks: Sleepy-Time
- Size: Small
- Nature: Bashful (nods off)
- Met: 10/23/24
- Nimbus is primarily based on my Pokemon Sleep Mareep Sunrise Alarm Clock™ (https://ibb.co/L6zYWBZ). I literally caught him LAST NIGHT at the time of typing this (10/24/24); I wanted a non-shiny male Mareep with a Sleepy-Time mark, but he also managed to have the characteristic of nodding off??? It's SO PERFECT.
- I also gave him a Dark Tera type just because I thought it would be funny. You know, the dark. Darkness. You sleep when it's dark. You get it.
- I actually have this memory of becoming attached to Mareep because of Pokemon The Third Movie; I remembered the girl (Molly, apparently) using a Teddiursa and a Mareep, but that was it. TURNS OUT, she didn't use a Mareep, she used a Flaaffy! Which is actually my favorite in the evo line! :')
- Fun fact: while I like naming Mareep after different cloud types, Nimbus is also named after the flying cloud from the Dragonball series.
