Salix Meliamne

As a young boy Salix or his childhood by his childhood nickname 'Lix', was rather timid and shy slightly smaller than the other boys he was an easy target. Salix's father, Donar was the leader of the Quercus tribe. A strong and skilled warrior (Strength Ranger) who had honed his skills over years of training. But his father's position didn't stop the children from bullying him they would use excuses like "He thinks he's better than us because of his father" "He doesn't deserve special treatment". And with Lix's timid nature he would never tell his parents of the beatings. His friend Sariel would use her druidic powers to heal him before

Due to Lix's timid nature he could never tell his parents about the beatings and instead found help in his friend Carolin, a young girl around the same age as Lix who had a natural gift in druidic healing.

One day when playing in the forest the group of malicious children found a small band of Goblins, they decided to find Lix and pressure him into fighting the group, it would be funny they thought. "We won't pick on you any more, not if you show us that you're brave. All you need to do is go and steal one of their swords!" they said to Lix. With the tiny amount of courage he had in him Lix snuck his way into the camp, treading lightly as he moved. But he was not cautious enough, one of the Goblins spotted him. They picked up their weapons and surrounded the young elf, after all elves could taste nice. The boy scrambled around for something to defend himself, tears in his eyes, his hands quivering. One Goblin approached him saliva dripping from it's fangs. It leaned in close intimidating the boy in guttural in a guttural tongue when all of a sudden a cold steel blade pierced through eye. Sat in a frightened position arrow in bloodied hand was the young boy incarnation of Salix. The Goblin raged back in pain, a hand grasping it's blind eye. Lix raised his hand once again striking the arrow into the Goblin leader toppling it over. His knees pressed down upon the arms of the monster as he stabbed repeatedly, horrified the rest of the Goblins darted to the west out of the woods. Something changed in Lix that day, a switch had been flicked, the teachings of his father made sense to him, the cycle of nature 'Those that are strong survive, the weak perish, so is the will of nature". He realised he had the potential to survive. From then on Salix began to train with the bow (and the children never bothered him again), always trying to improve himself, up the challenge.

As he reached adulthood he was renown in his tribe as an expert Ranger and Hunter but there was one prey he wished to kill, Udgyrth the Stone Giant that rested in the north of the forest. At the young age of 114 the young man named Salix slew the giant in his homestead. It took Salix five days to return to his tribe but when he did he returned with a title: Salix - Giant Slayer.

An man of average height just above five foot eleven. Salix has long blonde hair that has been braided at the sides and back. His eyes are a deep ocean blue, his skin clear. He has rather sharp features and may be seen as 'handsome' by some, as are many elves. Though there is one visible scar on his face, it lies on the left side of his face cutting through his upper lip, this was given to him by Udgyrth the Giant. He is clad in leather armour that has many tribal patterns, feathers and fur on it. His body is toned and in 'peak' performance as he lives the hunt, almost always moving and traveling.

Salix is the child of both Donar and Casuarina his father is the leader of the Quercus tribe, his mother was a grand druidic healer, but she does not live with Donar and Salix. When Salix was still young Donar, his father, fell in love with another woman, Zinnia. Although she is not Salix's real mother she tries to treat him as if he was her own child, although like many relationships between non-biological parents there's is a void that cannot be filled. Salix has not seen his mother since he was aged six but knows she moved from the forests of Caranthir to Elendel.

The Quercus tribe is a rather large settlement of advance hunter gatherer elves who reside in the forests of Caranthir, they mostly comprise of Rangers and druids but there are a few elves who dedicate their lives to the arcane arts as well as mother nature. Their homes are built in the trees but rather than carpentered constructs they appears to be made from bending the trunks of the forest to create homes. Due to the flammability of their village the tribe uses luminescent creatures such as fire-flies and magic to light their homes.
