  1. ¨Setting up¨! Exclaimed the imperial guardsman. He was one of the many soldiers of the 1st Kronus Regiment, dressed in his grim, gritty, battle-scarred carapace armor, which consisted of rigid, ceramite plates to form an almost perfect mold of the soldier’s chest. He trudged through the muddy, crater-filled planet kronus, his steel-toe boots absorbing him into the muck below.
  2. He took in the once beautiful and prestigious Imperial Garrison on his duty station, which now twisted into a warped, sanguine hell-scape. The soldier fell in subjugation to the slaughter and carnage that raged below between his fellow valiant guardsmen and the brutish Ork horde. All around him, debris and craters contrived perverse obstacles filled with tarnished grime and filthy terrain. The ground beneath him now gleamed with the sinister sight of crimson blood as well as the verdant green blood of the xenos. A thick, putrid stench of gunpowder could be smelled across the battlefield upon him, flaring his nostrils and leaving an odd feeling in his intestines. Dense smoke fumes surged across the terrain along with red-hot las-fire which sent streams of torrid focused laser beams piercing the enemy blight which had fallen upon them.
  3. Soldiers could be seen dropping left and right, whether it be from slipping and sliding into the abysmal mud pools or from quickly perishing at the hands of the volley of bullets and artillery barrages in distinction to the Ork arsenal. The deafening sounds of las-weaponry and artillery combined with the gut-wrenching, bloodcurdling clamors of the Ork war chants could be heard around the sector. The imperial guardsman quickly took placement onto his autocannon, and strategically set himself up on top of a hill overlooking the grim scene before him. The scorched planet terrain provided no cover, with black, billowing smoke and fiery orange wisps of fire and ashes fluttering around the air, like a hellish rain. Metal shrapnel flew into all directions as mortar shells on both sides pounded Kronus repetitively, leaving permanent scars.
  4. While mounted on the autocannon, the guardsman began to quickly rotate his turret 45 degrees to the right, taking aim at a small Ork warband. He watched in trepidation and awe as the orks began amassing in a great green horde. Their metal, rugged armor sat jagged and their makeshift battlements were maliciously loathsome with the loot of their enemies put on display. Their scavenged bits and pieces of metal battered into chest plates and helmets truly showed their boorish and vulgar ways. He observed closely, and glared at their long, sharp, fiendish teeth.
  5. The imperial guardsman was quick to open fire and several of the orks laid slain before him in an instant. They were turned into mere gibs from the abrupt impact of the imperial guardsman’s explosive technology.
  6. Suddenly, the soldier felt a searing hot pain in his shoulder, and ceased to continue firing his weapon. He looked up to see bulging green muscles make their appearance, as well as a “choppa axe” which was now wedged between his shoulder. The soldier grimaced as his shoulder began throbbing with pain, his shoulder tissue now exposed to the smoke ridden atmosphere. The Ork had successfully penetrated his clavicle and the blade licked his cephalic vein, nearly piercing his left pectoral muscle. The world started getting darker as the imperial guardsman knelt to the ground before the hulking green monster before him, knocking over his weapon while slobber dripped down onto his Carapace.
  7. The axe was sprung free from his shoulder, and a dark red mist sprayed into the air as the blade flew gloriously in the wind. The last thing the guardsman knew, was the guttural war cry of the beast before him, triumphing in it’s small victory. Slumping to the ground, sounds became distorted, and then everything went black.
