  15. Malik has as many secrets as he has feathers in his wings, or so the saying goes. He maintains them by following a simple strategy: ensure everyone is too busy looking at you to notice what you're up to. His conversational tone of voice is what other dragons would consider just shy of a shout, and when he talks, he likes to communicate using large, showy gestures of his frills, forelimbs, and tail. Add to that his richly-dyed attire sewn with shimmering gold thread, and you've got yourself one eye-catching coatl.
  16.
  17. Among his treasured secrets is his lineage: he has the blood of kings running through his veins, and Malik is himself the sultan of a kingdom as vast as it is mysterious. While courtly rumours maintain that his whimsy and wanderlust render him unfit to rule, Malik nonetheless remains in command and enjoys the security of a dedicated inner circle of royal personnel. Among them is his adviser, who worries incessantly over Malik and more or less runs the kingdom when the sultan is abroad.
  18.
  19. Malik delights in traveling as far afield as he possibly can, in meeting new dragons and sampling the many-textured flavour of the world (as he likes to call it). He is often curious about the nature of his fellow dragon, and stages elaborate games of good-natured trickery in order to observe how others react in the face of the strange, the unexpected, and, occasionally, the downright absurd. His finest trick thus far, in his estimation, is disguising himself as a lowly beggar and entering his own palace, giving the guards quite a start and sending his adviser into a most entertaining tizzy. The most amusing part is, of course, the fact that he's successfully done that more than once.
