Miyagi vs Kreese

	From the side, Mr. Miyagi spoke.

	"Why you no pick on someone your own size?"

	"Mind your own business, old man."

	"Who you calling old man, monkey face?"

	Kreese met the challenge by shoving Johnny aside like a rag doll. The vicious sensei rushed Mr. Miyagi with a lunge, punching at his face. With a sinking heart, Daniel realized there was no referee here, nobody to keep it clean.

	Kreese's fist was fast, but not fast enough. Mr. Miyagi calmly sidestepped the punch and it landed on the windshield of the car behind him, creating a spider web pattern around Kreese's bruised fist. Enraged, Kreese lunged again. This time, Mr. Miyagi did not sidestep. At the last possible moment, he raised his hand, palm out, and intercepted Kreese's fist. Kreese stopped dead in his tracks. A cold smile seemed to touch the corners of Mr. Miyagi's mouth as he slowly applied pressure to Kreese's fist, forcing him to the ground.

	Kreese was on his knees, held frozen by Mr. Miyagi's left hand. Daniel was proud of his teacher and of the evident awe Kreese's students showed for Mr. Miyagi.

	Then, to Daniel's horror, Mr. Miyagi brought back his powerful right hand, cocked for action, and spoke. It was Mr. Miyagi's voice, but these were not his words.

	"Mercy is for the weak. We do not train to be merciful. A man faces you. He is the enemy. An enemy deserves no mercy."

	Daniel looked at Mr. Miyagi in surprise, but the old man's face was a mask of vengeance.

	No. This could not be Mr. Miyagi. This was not the man who had taught him self-respect. No. Daniel could not believe what he was seeing.

	He glanced at the Cobra Kai students, frightened at the strength of the old man's hatred, sure of the revenge it would serve on their sensei. Then Daniel looked at Kreese, the man of ice, melted by fear.

	Mr. Miyagi's eyes flashed. His cocked hand sailed through the air, whistling toward Kreese's unprotected head.

	Daniel closed his eyes. Then looked.

	The chop had stopped with the same power that propelled it, less than an inch from Kreese's nose. A minute passed. Then, Mr. Miyagi's forefinger flicked out and nubbed Kreese's nose in the lowest form of insult.

	Briefly, Mr. Miyagi looked to Daniel, and winked.
