- So AGDQ is over and I have to return to real life tomorrow. Just real quick, this means:
- - Streams will start around 5 PM PST and end around 9-10 PM most of the time on weekdays
- - Streams will start any time and end any time on the weekends
- - I may take random days off here and there, depending on how tired I am from work, whether I'm hanging with friends IRL, so on
- Before I go into goals and whatnot, I have an essay-worth of typing I want to do. So here we go.
- I want to just express how grateful I am for the experience I got from AGDQ. It was very different from SGDQ, where I did the blindfolded race with SheNanagans_; the atmosphere for me being 100% a "runner" was a little nerve wracking at first, but as I practiced more and got closer to the actual run, I was very calm. Even though the result of the Animorphs run was disastrous, that's what made the run one of the greatest things I've ever been a part of. It was universally considered one of the top moments of AGDQ, too! I would've never thought that was possible with such an awful game! The whole experience kind of opened my eyes to my current approach of streaming and speedrunning and how I want to change that.
- With that in mind, and at the risk of sounding like a sellout, I have a new level of confidence in getting Twitch partner. I've been very transparent about my desire to get it; I really want quality options available all the time. As a speedrunner, it sucks to have a Twitch highlight broken into multiple parts on a hype run. The sub button would also be kind of cool; imagine a universal chat full of keizaRage! That would be something.
- I've also been transparent about my views on turning Twitch into a living. I'd love to do that, to entertain people and make a sustainable income off of it. I know it's very hard to do and I know that the extreme minority of people who want to accomplish this can, and I know there's a social faux pas behind that, but I still think it would be cool. Whether I can be in that minority that can do it, I don't know. It's up to me and my attitude towards the stream and all of you, and it's up to all of you to be willing enough to support me in that goal.
- Today was a really good example; I felt like I was very active in talking to chat, and you all responded in kind. I'd love to keep that up, and I'd love to keep the attitude I had today moving forward. For the most part, we were always above 100 viewers, and we capped off at nearly 700 towards the end of the stream!
- Now that all of that's been said, here are my goals for the time being:
- - Beat my Animorphs Any% time (yes, it's a bad game, but it's funny to play)
- > Maybe re-route and discover new and ridiculous things in the game with chat
- - Beat my Pokemon Red Any% Glitchless time
- > Prepare for my SGDQ submission of a 4-way Red race with ExarionU, ExtraTricky and Mountebank
- - Beat my Pokemon Yellow Any% NSC time
- > Prepare for my SGDQ submission of this category
- - Learn The Incredibles (yes, it's a very bad game)
- > Work with flag on getting a not crap time
- Future goals include:
- - 3:15 or better in Pokemon Crystal Any% Glitchless
- - Learning DK64 as promised
- - Learning DKC
- - Routing SimCity with altabiscuit
- - Learning a bunch of SNES games like Lagoon and Illusions of Gaia
- - Meme it big at memebig.net
- <3 you all!
