A view on the 10 commandments.v0.2

Please read disclaimer in comment v0.1 before reading this and put a "maybe ? " on the end of each "commandment" . Anything after the # is not from wikipedia

1. "I am the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods in My presence..."

# Is this not saying that we should understand who LORD is before we throw out all other gods ?
# Was it not a man who brought people out of Egypt ?

2. "Do not make an image or any likeness of what is in the heavens above..."

# Is this not saying that because we do not understand who LORD is we should not assume what the #"heavens" are ?

# Or maybe we should not be making likenesses to things that are not there, either way maybe we should
# be concerned about what is happening in our only promised "heaven" = earth ?


3. "Do not swear falsely by the name of the LORD..."

# Is this not saying that we should understand who LORD is before we can swear by "him" ?
# Or maybe we should not be swearing by LORD as it would be false ?

4. "Remember [zachor] the Sabbath day and keep it holy" (the version in Deuteronomy reads shamor, "observe")

# Is this not saying that everybody should rest, maybe even the guardians of life, so they can be
# refreshed to perform their duties for the 6 days ahead ?


5. "Honor your father and your mother..."

# Is this not saying honor those that have walked before you on earth as you would not be here without
# them?

#Have those before us not fought and died to keep our free will ?

6. "Do not murder"

# Is this not saying that murder should not be committed as it is mostly achieved by taking away
# another's free will ?

7. "Do not commit adultery."

# Is this not saying that adultery should not be committed iff it is achieved by taking away another's
# free will ?


8. "Do not steal."

# Is this not saying that theft should not be committed as it is mostly achieved by taking away
# another's free will ?


9. "Do not bear false witness against your neighbor"

# Is this not saying that bearing false witness against another being should not be committed as it is
# mostly achieved by taking away another's free will ?

10. "Do not covet your neighbor's wife"

# Is this not saying that coveting your neighbor's wife should not be committed as it is mostly
# achieved by taking away another's free will ?
