  1. Still Learning, But Still Making Progress Edition

  3. Hey guys, how’s it goin?

  5. At the beginning of last week, my best Pokemon Puzzle Challenge Intense Scroll On time was 13:58. Being more than a minute behind the record, I thought I was going to struggle to get close to the time, especially since I had forgotten how to play with Scroll On. Suddenly, on Monday I get 13:48 and 13:37. Then, on Tuesday I get 13:25 and 13:00. I used to think that Koopary’s records were a bit untouchable. Now having broken one record and getting within 10 seconds of the other, I have more confidence in PPC than ever that I will be able to get the job done sooner rather than later. Here’s to hoping I get it done this week.

  7. In other gaming news, I’m really getting into the Wizard of Oz JRPG on the DS. The gameplay may be decidedly average, but it sounds AMAZING! I learned shortly before my last stream of it that the composers for the game also did work on the Wild Arms series, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Final Fantasy XII. I knew that boss theme had way too much FFXII in it. I must be a sucker for trumpets. That said, I’m still wishing I could trade the stupid trackball for a minimap. I’m also not finding the Lion or Tin Man to be useful for anything besides fodder since they can’t attack very often per round of combat. At least Scarecrow is actually fulfilling a thief role. For the most part, however, I’m just wanting to use Dorothy for everything, especially when most of the tougher enemies, bosses included, lean towards using magic and Dorothy has the highest magic resistance. The combat has some interesting points to it, though. Your party has a shared number of actions they can take. Your foes also have their own number of actions. It’s not as simple as every character gets a turn in a round. In addition, only the player characters that take actions in a turn can be attacked during that turn. I’ve played quite a few RPGs in my day, yet I haven’t seen a battle system quite like this one. I like the extra level of strategy that such mechanics allow, but I think I’m about halfway through and I’ve yet to find a single fight that would require making use of them. Maybe that optional boss I found will be hopeful. Despite those shortcomings, I’m having fun with the game and I can’t wait to play it again.

  9. And finally, I feel compelled to give a Duel Links update. Six Samurais suck eggs. That is all.

  11. That’s my life story for the week. Until next time, everyone, thanks for reading!
