40. The RIDE ALONG 2 sequel picks up about a year after our heroes' last adventure. Plans for a quick trip to Miami go bad. With the wedding upcoming, James reluctantly takes Ben with him to Miami to follow up on a lead connected to a drug ring case he's been trying to crack. In Miami, they meet Maya, a no-BS homicide detective who lets them know Miami is her turf. They also encounter AJ, a shady cocky computer hacker who reveals evidence that implicates a well-respected local businessman, the wealthy Antonio Pope. Pope harbors a vicious streak and rules South Florida's drug trade. If Ben and James can convince the authorities that Pope is a brutal crime boss they'll stop his spree. If they fail, well there may not be a wedding after all.
 41. As his wedding day approaches, Ben heads to Miami with his soon-to-be brother-in-law James to bring down a drug dealer who's supplying the dealers of Atlanta with product.
 42. "He's like an accidental genius." James (Cube) is on the trail of a drug dealer and his sources and evidence has led him to Miami. Not wanting him to go alone the Captain tells him he needs a partner. After some convincing he agrees to take Ben (Hart) with him. Ben is is typical helpful self and as usual causes more harm then helps, but when he does find a way to help it changes everything. I was not a big fan of the first movie for one reason. I think Kevin Hart can be a little irritating and obnoxious sometimes. He is funny is small doses but for the most part he is hard for me to watch. That said, he was a little more toned down in this one that the first one. In terms of this movie, much like the Hot Tub Time Machine series I thought this one was a much better movie but not as funny as the first one. To me that is strange because this is essentially the same thing as the first one with just a few changes. The biggest difference is that Hart didn't seem to try to hard and just let his natural comedy show, which really helped a lot. Overall, fans of the first one will love this as well, if you didn't like the first one you may not be all that impressed with this one either. I give this a B.
 43. Review: I wasn't a big fan of this movie, because I didn't find it that funny and the characters hadn't progressed from the first movie. Ice Cube (James) is still trying to prove that Kevin Hart (Ben), isn't a worthy cop and Ben is still getting up to mischief whilst trying to help James crack a case. The first movie was much better, because the concept was fresh and the jokes were funny but this movie wasn't written that well and Ben became annoying after a while. There are a couple of funny moments, like when Ben hit his head on a spinning fan but apart from that, I can count the amount of funny moments on one hand. The soundtrack throughout the movie was decent and you can tell that this movie had a bigger budget than the first one but I still thing that they could have done a better job with this sequel. With All that aside, it's still a watchable film, if you don't take it seriously, and the chemistry between Ben and James is OK. Average!

Round-Up: After the success of the first movie, which made over $150million at the box office, this movie was bound to make a hefty profit but it seemed to "come and go" out of people's mind, when it was released. Now that I have watched the film, I can understand why it wasn't as popular as the first one, and I personally think that the director will have to come up with something special, to make the next instalment a hit. Anyway, this movie was directed by Tim Story, 46, who brought you Barbershop, the original Fantastic Four franchise, Taxi, Hurricane Season and the Think Like A Man franchise. He also directed the first Ride Along, so I wasn't surprises that he brought out a sequel so quickly. I did have high hopes for this film, mainly because I enjoyed the first one so much, so I was pretty disappointed with the result. Benjamin Bratt was also a terrible villain and I'm getting a bit fed up of Ken Jeong, because he always plays the same roles in his movies. With all that aside, I still like the banter between Cube & Hart so I will be watching the next one.

Budget: $40million Worldwide Gross: $124.2million

I recommend this movie to people who are into their action/comedies starring Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, Tika Sumpter, Benjamin Bratt, Ken Jeong, Bruce McGill, Michael Rose, Tyrese Gibson and Olivia Munn. 4/10
 44. To call Ride Along 2 rubbish is unfair to rubbish, which at some point had a purpose.
