chapter 2 KH

the crowds roared as the great scootalius raced through the tangled overgrowth of ye olde apple orchard. her wings buzzing as fast as they could and yet the great beast was gaining.
"Come on Scooterduperis..." applebloomacus said, jumping in her seat beside the Grand equestrian emperess sweetibuscus bell the fourteenth
the great beast ran closer... her muzzle within biting distance if scootalius did not speed up.
a sharp turn was coming up to her left, she leaned her grand chariot to take the corner... and hit a old apple.
the jolt was enough to send her flying through the air and towards the deeper part of the orchards.
she slid to a stop near a big bolder and moaned "well that failed" scootaloo said as "the great beast" ran up and started to lick scootaloos face.
"gah wynona!" scootaloo said as the other two crusaders ran up
"well i think we can scratch roamin chariot racer, spectator, and emperess off our lists..." sweetie bell said.
"aww.. but it was fun watchin scoots. are ya shure i am not a spectotater?" applebloom asked spinning in place to see her own flank.
scootaloo sighed "so now what?"
the others shrugged and tried to think of another cutie mark they could get.
scootaloo paced untill she was bored, before starting to climb up
"we need something Grand, something nopony has tried before,"
"cutiemark crusader dinosaur tamers?" applebloom suggested
"where would we even get one to tame it? how about cutiemark crusader doughnut jugglers?" Sweetie bell said.
"nah, doughnut joe ran us out of his shop when we tried that during hearth warming." scootaloo looked down
"applebloom, why do you guys have this big bolder in your orchard anyway?"
"oh! that was here when my granparents settled this land, granny smith said they hitched up every pony in ponyville to try and move it, but it would not even budge half a smidgen. so they left it, which is a downright shame, for some reason the ground around it is more fertile than anywhere else. which is why we planted the zap apples here."

scoot's wings shot up as she had an idea "Cutiemark crusader bolder smashers!"
she lept down and ran to her friends "it is something nopony has tried before, back then they tried to move it all in one hunk, why dont we smash it down and move it bit by bit? i am sure some rockfarms could use new seed."
Sweetiebell nods "thats a great idea, i think i saw some mallets and stuff that we can use in the barn."

the three fillies dashed off and soon were back at the bolder
"ready, one, two, three!" scoots said before she swung down hard.
the bolder shook and split in two from the three strikes of the rubber mallets, revealing a cave deep beneath.
scootaloo smiled "it worked!" she lept into the air and then looked to her friends to see their new found...
blank flanks. still.
"well i guess bolder smashin aint our special talent." applebloom said.
"no matter, the bolder revealed a cave system, Cutiemark Crusader Spelunkers yay!" sweetie bell said.
"how can we go spelunkin? there is not a pond deep enough nearby." scootaloo said.
"spelunking, it means cave exploring." sweetiebell said.
"and what are you, a dictionary?" scoots said with a laugh at the old joke the three shared.
"well do you want to go in first? or are you chicken?" applebloom said to scootaloo.
"Bwak!" scoots jokingly replyed before heading into the crack on the bolder.

down they passed deep into the darkness, soon no light came from anywhere to light the way
"i shoulda brought the flashlight. it woulda been great here." applebloom said
"hey sweety, cant you do like twilight and your sister and use magic to light the path?" scoot said, shuffling to make shure she did not trip or fall anywhere.
"i can try." sweetie said. she closed her eyes and inhaled, she searched for the font of magic that lay in all unicorns.
her mind soon found it, or a part of it as it was more a stream than a pool like both twilight and rarity told her.
she stepped her mental self into the stream, and focused "light"
her horn slowly grew brighter, revealing a large chamber in front of the three girls.
"wow! awesome sweetie." scootaloo said as she started to head out onto the first pillar.
as her hooves touched the surface a flash of light came from below, fluttering like a thousand birds taking flight.
the light dimmed enough to let the girls look down at what was below them.
they were standing on a pillar, with a design much like those found in the hall of rememberance in canterlot.
but instead of dipicting celestia and lunas imprisonment of discord, it showed Twilight.
the picture showed twilight in the center, reading from a book, with a gold tiara on her head.
a open scroll underneath her said "Magic."
behind twilight showed many more ponies, some the fillies reconized, like celestia and Starswirl the bearded, others vague as if meeting a new friend.
"where are we?" scootaloo said, voicing the thought on what was on the three fillies minds.
