Tsubaki and Anon pt. 17

>A week has passed by since then.
>August still true to itself is hot as balls.
>Work isn't being made any easier because of this.
>Lull in the work load means time has slowed to a crawl.
>Eric and I just sitting around doing fuck all but talking.
>"Anon, you look drained guy."
>"Tired, Tsubaki and I have been trying for a kid and..."
>"Hey good for you guy!"
>"Not done Eric, yeah it's great but goddamn is it draining."
>"Why not ask her for breaks then?"
>"Ehh, well the blame isn't entirely her fault." I said smiling.
>The conversation seems to hang for a bit before Eric changed subject.
>"So you told your folks yet?"
>"Nope." I said with a head shake.
>"Still? You gotta tell them eventually Anon."
>"Thanksgiving is around the corner and I'll just do it then."
>"Tsubaki hasn't brought it up?"
>"Nah, we've both been busy anyways. She's been burning down some old shell companies in preparation." I said making air quotes at the word 'preparation'.
>"Preparation for what?"
>"Just building up assets and stuff like that. I dunno Eric, a lot of that jargon goes over my head sometimes."
>Kept shooting the shit till it was time to go home for the day.
>Walk home wasn't too eventful.
>Even stopped by the local bakery and picked up sweets for Tsubaki.
>Stop as I go to open the door to my apartment.
>Voices on the other side of the door, not just Tsubaki's.
>"Tsubaki?"
>Find Tsubaki chatting with Lahalah and Slyvie of all people at the kitchen table.
>"Uhh..."
>All three of them turn to me as I opened my mouth.
>"Well here's the stud himself! Sorry sweetie, but you two can't have alone time just yet~." Sylvie teased.
>Tsubaki's looking up at me from her spot and beaming.
>Realization dawns on me on why the three of them are there.
>"You're pregnant aren't you?"
>Get confirmation with Tsubaki nodding at me.
>"Well shit."
>"You don't sound surprised dearie." Lahlah said.
>"We've been trying is why."
>Slyvie's glowering at me as I'm walking over to Tsubaki.
>"Can you at least be happy?"
>"I am."
>"You don't look happy."
>"That's my fault, I kept him up last night." Tsubaki said saving me.
>"I don't see why you don't just stay home now you have Tsubaki."
>"I'd rather work Sylvie."
>Tsubaki giggled chiming in as well.
>"You should see him when he has nothing to do, he starts walking around the house talking aloud to himself."
>"I'm just saying you're not my only danuki client. A lot of them have their husbands stay at home while they're..out..on...business."
>Slyvie's expression went from cheery to 'you just shot my dog' as she realized what she said.
>"Sorry Tsu."
>"It's fine. I still do business, but the added bonus of not having to leave home."
>Conversation carries on for an hour or so longer till Lahlah is the first to leave then Slyvie.
>Tsubaki and I are just left alone finally.
>"So Tsu, how ya feeling?"
>"I'm fine sweetie."
>"If you're sure." I said giving her a quick peck on the head.
>"You're not nervous Anon?"
>"A bit, but I've got you so I'm sure we'll make it."
>Dinner was some really hardy soup Lahlah brought by.
>Like all Orc dishes it was loaded with meat chunks.
>Laying in bed later that night.
>Feeling groggy as Tsubaki and I are cuddling.
>She's got her head laying on my chest as I give her head rubs.
>Go to open my mouth to say something.
>Yawn comes out instead.
>Decide what I had to say wasn't worth waking Tsubaki.
>Last conscious thing I did was pulled Tsubaki in closer.
