Fk it, have another. A little early but what can I say? I do love me some spooky month.
>It was Kris' favorite time of the year.
>Halloween!
>A time of mischief, pranks, candy, and scares! He had brought his family to The Field of Terror, a seasonal spooky themed faire.
>They had some small rides, games, and food.
>They even had a haunted house!
>This is where we find one of the eldest Dreemurr child Casey, along with his seemingly eternal charge Krethel.
>Casey took after his mom, wearing a simple cardboard box for his costume. In contrast Krethel was dressed as Mario, complete with tanuki ears and a tail.
>"Cmon Casey! It'll be fun! It's all fake so there's nothing to worry about!" Krethel pleaded with his juggernaut of a sibling.
>For his part, Casey just grumbled before finally giving in and motioning for Krethel to lead the way.
>Giggling in excitement, Krethel bounded up the steps and through the entrance.
>After passing through the curtains, the platform began to slowly spin with them on it.
>The next two sections spun in opposite directions before leading to a small hall of mirrors.
>Casey dutifully trudged behind Krethel, unease slowly growing.
>Eventually they came to a long hallway with strobing lights. As Krethel moved forward he began to notice displays lining the sides. He laughed as actors would roar and animatronics would jerkily spring to life for some cheap scares.
>It wasn't until they reached the end of the hall that Krethel heard something truly disturbing.
>A distressed whine, emanating from nine other than Casey. Looking back he noticed the bulky half dragon's powerful hands gripped painfully tight with slight tremors rocking up his tense forearms.
>Gray and white eyes found watery amber and red ones. Krethel knew what he had to do.

>Pulling down the brim of his cap, he stood firm in front of his older brother. "Just stay behind me buddy! I'll get us outta here!"
>Casey just nodded in return, hunching over and holding onto Krethel's shoulders.
>Brimming with DETERMINATION, Krethel marched them out the rest of the house.
>Channeling his inner Veth, he gave his best evil eye to any actor that threatened to jump out.
>Once the pair were Finale back out in fresh air Krethel was swiftly lifted into a crushing hug.
>"Thanks."
>"Sure bud." Krethel managed to groan out. Casey's hugs were always rib breaking, "We look after each other right?"
>"Hell yeah." Casey managed to get out between sniffles.
>Unbeknownst to the two, their father watched on with pride.
>The kids are alright.
