  1. <DM> (\\START//)
  2. * Otomus runs the client file, as he said he would
  3. * Reytra opens the server file
  4. <DM> Reytra you see a spot on the server file asking for a chumhandle
  5. * Reytra enters in his handle
  6. <DM> Otomus sees it ask for confirmation of server connection
  7. * Otomus confirms
  8. <DM> Your game crashes and you see nothing but your backround now. Reytra however gets a hud with controls and options
  9. <Reytra> DS: i have optioNs
  10. <Reytra> DS: what Now?
  11. <Otomus> SS: / need the mach/nes to be p/aced somewhere /n th/s h/ve.
  12. <Otomus> SS: P/ease do not h/t E/ayna
  13. <DM> there appear to be multiple buildings you can place and you are now looking at a very large one room house with very fancy decor and even gourmet food lying around prepared
  14. <Reytra> DS: will do
  15. <DM> oh and a limeblood troll. Good thing that blood is on the inside though
  16. * Reytra places the machines down, careful not to hit anyone
  17. <DM> you can place three, and one at a time
  18. <DM> which do you pick first?
  19. <Reytra> DS: which oNe first?
  20. <Otomus> SS: /t doesn't matter, s/nce / need a// of them /n the end.
  21. * Reytra clicks the first one that shows up on the options
  22. <DM> choose a spot and roll a d20
  23. * Reytra tries to place it neatly in the corner
  24. <Reytra> !roll 1d20
  25. <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20 --> [ 1d20=11 ] | {11}
  26. <DM> you manage to get it to the corner but take down a very pricey looking art piece in the process
  27. <DM> Oto sees the cruxtruder, as he knows its called probably, appear and display some censorship
  28. <Reytra> DS: i hope you doN't care about this place
  29. <Otomus> SS: / don't.
  30. * Reytra tries to place down the next machine next to the first one
  31. <Otomus> SS: /'m just ho/ed up here as the wor/d ends.
  32. <Reytra> !roll 1d20
  33. <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20 --> [ 1d20=11 ] | {11}
  34. <DM> This time the lathe goes down and takes a table with it, sending food flying at the sleeping Elayna. She does not stir
  35. <Reytra> DS: oops
  36. * Reytra places down the final machine in the same area
  37. <Reytra> !roll 1d20
  38. <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20 --> [ 1d20=2 ] | {2}
  39. <DM> you uh...place the alchemeter sideways. somehow
  40. <Reytra> DS: oops
  41. <Reytra> DS: caN you do it?
  42. <Otomus> SS: ...
  43. <Otomus> SS: / th/nk you need to f/x that.
  44. * Otomus goes to turn the wheel on the Cruxtruder
  45. <Reytra> DS: i will try
  46. <DM> roll STR
  47. * Reytra tries to place the alchemeter upright
  48. <Otomus> !roll 1d20-1
  49. <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20-1 --> [ 1d20=9 ] | {8}
  50. <DM> it budges slightly
  51. * Otomus tries again
  52. <Otomus> !roll 1d20-1
  53. <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20-1 --> [ 1d20=8 ] | {7}
  54. <DM> Also Reytra, you manage to pry the alchemeter up but it is now a part of the "house" and takes the floor with it. There was apparently plumbing under there and water flies everywhere
  55. <Reytra> DS: caN you do it?
  56. <DM> You get it upright though. Just with a chunk of floor stuck to the side
  57. <DM> Also Oto, the wheel budges less this time
  58. <Otomus> !roll 1d20-1
  59. <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20-1 --> [ 1d20=19 ] | {18}
  60. <Otomus> Again!
  61. <DM> it flies open and several round dowels fly out, as well as a glowing orb
  62. * Otomus grabs a dowel, then looks for something for the orb
  63. <Reytra> DS: what Now?
  64. <DM> The orb seems to be hovering over Elayna, who is now up, covered in water and food and rather curios of the alchemeter
  65. <Otomus> SS: /s that a// the mach/nes and the card?
  66. <DM> "What have you been doing while I was asleep?"
  67. <Reytra> DS: i placed everythiNg?
  68. <Otomus> "P/ay/ng that f//e"
  69. * Reytra checks if there's anything else that needs to be placed
  70. * Otomus places the dowel in the Lathe
  71. <DM> There is a card that was obscured before by....surely not my forgetfulness. Musta been a glitch
  72. * Reytra places down the card
  73. <Reytra> !roll 1d20
  74. <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20 --> [ 1d20=4 ] | {4}
  75. <DM> its a card so you manage to place it rather normally. on top of the tall fridge
  76. <Reytra> DS: i'll fix it
  77. * Reytra tries to shake the card down
  78. <DM> You manage to topple that easily enough, but now there's more food everywhere and a downed fridge. This IS someones home
  79. <Reytra> DS: fixed
  80. <Reytra> DS: do the thiNg
  81. <Otomus> SS: Thank you.
  82. * Otomus nabs the card and fits it into the slot
  83. <Otomus> "/ have no contro/ over th/s, /'m sorry."
  84. <DM> Elayna has salvaged some food and is looking at the sprite, which floats just above her reach
  85. <DM> "Whatever, anarchy is pretty fun I guess."
  86. <DM> The lathe carves the totem into some kind of bottle, filled with glowing liquid that changes colour
  87. <Otomus> Following what the murderer did, Oto takes it over to the Alchemiter
  88. <DM> It becomes...two bottles of weird liquid
  89. <Otomus> Huh
  90. <Otomus> Oto opens one up and sniffs at it
  91. <Reytra> DS: what do you do with that?
  92. <Otomus> SS: That's what we need to f/gure out.
  93. <Reytra> DS: but you already did this
  94. <DM> It smells.....that is by far the worst thing you've ever had to smell
  95. <Otomus> You heave a little bit, then contemplate tossing one to Elayna as a joke.
  96. <Reytra> DS: driNk it, duMp it?
  97. <Otomus> SS: / have no /dea.
  98. <DM> Elayna walks over to you eyeing the bottles.
  99. <Reytra> DS: well do soMethiNg
  100. <DM> "So theres a thing over there counting down from 30 seconds. Not sure why."
  101. <Reytra> DS: aNd do it quickly
  102. <Otomus> "By A/tern/a..."
  103. * Otomus takes a swig from the bottle
  104. <DM> it tastes....like you really shouldn't have taken a drink
  105. <DM> but now you have 1 empty bottle and 1 full
  106. * Otomus gags, then dumps the other bottle
  107. <DM> the other bottle seems to not empty no matter how much you dump
  108. <DM> 20 seconds
  109. <Reytra> DS: go!
  110. * Otomus takes a deep breath and gulps the other down
  111. * Otomus also chucks the first bottle into the Kernel
  112. <DM> you are certainly drinking it, but it again does not empty
  113. <DM> the kernel is now an empty bottle
  114. <Reytra> DS: give it to the other oNe
  115. <DM> A hive next to the one is taken out by a meteor and the timer strikes 10 secinds
  116. <Otomus> "/ th/nk you need to dr/nk th/s."
  117. <Otomus> He hands the bottle to Elayna
  118. <Otomus> "/'m sorry."
  119. <DM> "Pfft, don't be such a baby."
  120. <DM> She takes it and chugs it down. The last thing you see is her gagging a bit before everything goes white
  121. <DM> Reytra is also disconnected in a flash
  122. <Reytra> DS: did you die?
  123. <Otomus> SS: How wou/d / know?
  124. <Otomus> SS: Ghosts are a th/ng now, so maybe / am.
  125. <DM> Otomus's communication device suddenly stops working. and also disappears
  126. <DM> as does everything else. He stands in a white void, alone
  127. <DM> but only for a moment as a figure appears that looks to be troll, but also not troll
  128. <DM> it shines various colours of green and when it speaks, the voice seems to come from everywhere. It's also eerily familiar
  129. <DM> "Hello again limey."
  130. <Otomus> "Oh"
  131. <Otomus> "/t's you."
  132. <Otomus> "/t hasn't been a /ong t/me."
  133. <DM> "Astute observation."
  134. <Otomus> "/'ve been rea/ busy, you know, a/most be/ng k///ed."
  135. <DM> "Though not for me. Time is...irrelevant to me."
  136. <DM> "You look plenty alive to me."
  137. <Otomus> "/ d/d say a/most."
  138. <Otomus> "And ghosts are a th/ng now."
  139. <Otomus> "D/d you hear?"
  140. <Otomus> "That monster /s one, /n fact."
  141. <DM> "Well lucky for you, you survived. Now you get a second chance."
  142. <Otomus> "A second chance?"
  143. <Otomus> "And what are you go/ng to make me pay for that?"
  144. <DM> "Yes. At everything."
  145. <DM> "Oh look, you know me so well. I'm glad you're a smart one. I like you."
  146. <DM> "But you also trouble me. See, you are one with very little to lose. Very little to give."
  147. <Otomus> "And?"
  148. <DM> "And to receive my gift you will need to pay a lot."
  149. <Otomus> "Why wou/d / want your g/ft?"
  150. <Otomus> "/ know noth/ng about /t."
  151. <DM> "Because it would make you free."
  152. <Otomus> "That's too vague."
  153. <Otomus> "/ need more than that."
  154. <DM> "You will be given the power to create an endless universe to shape in your image. One where you could even stand proud of the lime juice in your veins."
  155. <DM> "The ultimate freedom to live as you please. In peace."
  156. <Otomus> "And why shou/d / be//eve you?"
  157. <DM> "This again? I show up in front of you in a giant white void glowing all green and stuff and you give me that again? Come on, give me some credit!"
  158. <Otomus> "No."
  159. <Otomus> "You have done noth/ng to prove your c/a/ms."
  160. <Otomus> "The on/y th/ng you have done was wake me up to dea/ w/th a prob/em myse/f."
  161. <DM> "Wait, you don't really think you dodged a literal speeding bullet do you?"
  162. <DM> "Or hid from an evil overlord in a pile of mud?"
  163. <DM> "Or managed to just-so-happen to never get hit be randomly falling meteors?"
  164. <Otomus> "P/ease, the t/mer was obv/ous/y count/ng down to a meteor h/tt/ng me."
  165. <Otomus> "Don't take cred/t for a mag/ca/ game."
  166. <DM> "That you oh-so-randomly acquired. Oh how luck favours you!"
  167. <Otomus> "F/ne. /et's say / be//eve you."
  168. <Otomus> "What do you want now?"
  169. <DM> "You should."
  170. <DM> "What are you offering?"
  171. <Otomus> "What are you ask/ng for?"
  172. <Otomus> "Why am / even here now?"
  173. <DM> "You're here because I chose you obviously. You're here because only you can save endless timelines from certain doom."
  174. <Otomus> "Oh rea//y?"
  175. <Otomus> "Why?"
  176. <DM> "I just told you! You're the only one. You really want me to go over why I selected you instead of literally any other living being?"
  177. <Otomus> "Yes, / k/nd of do. Why me at a//?"
  178. <Otomus> "What do / have that no one e/se does?"
  179. <DM> "Cause it's a pretty long list I don't have time for. I got five more of you sassy kids to get through."
  180. <Otomus> "So /'m not the on/y one, then."
  181. <Otomus> "There are s/x of us."
  182. <DM> "Yes. Six chosen from a very large number. Get over it."
  183. <Otomus> "But that's st/// more than one."
  184. <Otomus> "So /'m not the on/y one."
  185. <DM> "Yes. That's what "more then one" means. Are you going to keep wasting my time or do I have to choose for you?"
  186. <Otomus> "What am / choos/ng?"
  187. <Otomus> "We haven't gotten to that part yet."
  188. <DM> "I'm letting you create a universe. Pay me."
  189. <Otomus> "No."
  190. <DM> "That's literally not an option."
  191. <Otomus> "Then why are you ask/ng?"
  192. <Otomus> "/f /t's not an opt/on, then you shou/d be ask/ng what /'// pay, not /f /'// pay /t."
  193. <DM> "Oh I'm sorry. Did you hear me wrong just now. I was being polite just now. But I can be very...persuasive."
  194. <Otomus> "/'m sure you can."
  195. <DM> And then Elayna is standing beside you, confused. She opens her mouth to speak but nothing comes out
  196. <Otomus> "But you st/// haven't to/d me what you want."
  197. <DM> "She could suffice."
  198. <Otomus> "'Someth/ng' /sn't an answer."
  199. <Otomus> "No."
  200. <DM> "No? I'm sure she wouldn't mind."
  201. <Otomus> "/ sa/d no."
  202. <DM> "Oh Oto please! Let me die for you, at least then I won't regret your refusal to fill a pail. Woe is me!" The weird lady is saying this in a mock voice as the real Elayna just keeps trying to scream to no avail
  203. <Otomus> "So what do you want?"
  204. <Otomus> "St///, *st///*, you haven't answered that quest/on. You just keep dodg/ng around /t w/th ha/f answers to man/pu/ate me,"
  205. <DM> "I take back calling you smart. I asked you to make a choice. The idea is that you give me something. As long as it is worthy I don't care what."
  206. <DM> "Unless you are literally giving me the choice to do what I want. I don't advise it."
  207. <Otomus> "And / want to know what you th/nk /s worth someth/ng. What cou/d / poss/b/y have that you want?"
  208. <Otomus> "Not her, and not that."
  209. <Otomus> "You a/ready have my b/ood."
  210. <DM> "One cup of blood was worth a life. Come on now."
  211. * Otomus reaches for his sylladex, unsure
  212. <Otomus> "What about an o/d, /ong dead fr/end?"
  213. <Otomus> "/s that worth anyth/ng?"
  214. <DM> "Oh, that's perfect! Not so much a person as an entire being!"
  215. <DM> "Yes, but be aware I am not just accepting a dead body. You will pay me with everything about them. Memories, past, future. They will cease to exist in all forms imaginable."
  216. * Otomus stops
  217. <DM> "To you, it will be as if they never were."
  218. <Otomus> "No, / w/// not lose them aga/n."
  219. <Otomus> "Even /f / wou/dn't know / d/d."
  220. <Otomus> "You ask much of a tro// who has noth/ng."
  221. <DM> "It is because you have nothing that you pay the highest price."
  222. <Otomus> "That /s dumb."
  223. <DM> "Life is dumb. I'm sure you're used to it."
  224. <Otomus> "And /'m sure you know a// about /t."
  225. <DM> "You have no idea."
  226. <Otomus> "So what w/// the others have to pay, /f / have to g/ve so much?"
  227. <DM> "Something...equal."
  228. <Otomus> "Equa/?"
  229. <DM> "Again genius, I give a choice. They will give what they want to. I COULD go check and see, but I'm not gonna."
  230. <Otomus> "/ just wanted to know what you meant by equa/, jeez."
  231. <DM> "Now make your damn choice or I will!"
  232. <Otomus> "Wou/d you take a leg?"
  233. <Otomus> "One of m/ne, to be prec/se."
  234. <Otomus> "/ have a fee//ng /'// need my arms to f/ght."
  235. <DM> "A...what? Wait what? A leg? But how would that?"
  236. <DM> "Know what? Screw it. Fine. But with a catch."
  237. <Otomus> "What's the catch?"
  238. <DM> And then you are suddenly in a sprawling field of tall grass, the sun shines down on you but doesn't hurt or blind you, there are no trees, no buildings, nothing around you but a giant field of just grass. The house is behind you. There is a sudden and intense feeling of burning pain, stronger then you've ever felt before. You fall over flat on you
  239. <DM> r face. Onto the Land of Plains and Skies.
  240. <DM> (==END==)
