First of all, the pay gap would be a lot wider in real life. Jose might make $75 for the day.

31% is absurd. If Joe only took the standard deduction federal taxes are about 10.2% - tack on a few more percent for the state and you're still less than 15%.

Also, Joe gets 2 paid weeks off a year.

Jose gets shit coverage. Those 'free' clinics are mostly emergency care only and they do charge for services. He doesn't get dental.

If it was such a good deal, Joe could choose not to get coverage and do the same as Jose. But he doesn't, since it's not a good deal.

Also, they both pay rent to a landlord, which pays property taxes on that property, which supports local services.

Affirmative action in US universities is quickly dying. By the time these kids are of that age I doubt it exists.

they just saved around $30,000 by hiring Jose illegally.
