altea's not so dumb now

[21:29] <Ikiryo> "You got eighty one percent. That is TWICE your best previous mark."
[21:30] * Altea suddenly looks really excited. "REALLY? That's AWESOME! I gotta go call my dad."
[21:32] <Ikiryo> "Your marks caused Sergeant Fitzhenry, your chemistry teacher to have a heart attack. She's currently being treated for shock."
[21:33] <Altea> "Oh, I should go visit her then. Is she in the regular medbay?"
[21:34] <Ikiryo> "No. She's been taken to a Saint Church psychiatric hospital."
[21:35] <Altea> "Alright, I'll go see her later then."
[21:35] * Altea still doesn't grasp the purpose of this meeting.
[21:36] <Ikiryo> "These marks seem...very unusual...for you, Altea."
[21:37] <Altea> "Oh, I've been studying a lot. Reiko's been helping me out a ton."
[21:38] <Ikiryo> "So you are saying that this dramatic increase in your grades, in a test after a major event that cost you much study time...is due to tutoring?"
[21:41] <Altea> "Yep! Reiko's teaching me lots of stuff. Stuff I didn't even know about! Though I was pretty tired at the end of it too, I just wanted to fall asleep."
[21:42] <Ikiryo> "I...see..." She pauses "And the nature of this teaching?"
[21:43] <Altea> "Well, we talked a lot, and then we did a bunch of the same thing over and over again. Repetition, you know? Anyway we did that til I got tired and fell asleep."
[21:45] <Ikiryo> "...and where did you do this?"
[21:45] <Altea> "In the common room, of course. We were on the couch."
[21:46] <Ikiryo> "I see. And this somehow improved your marks?"
[21:46] <Altea> "Yeah. She just kept asking the questions out of the book til I got them right! I'm not sure how I didn't think of that first."
[21:47] <Ikiryo> She nods. "I see. That makes sense. So she's been helping you with that quite a bit?"
[21:50] <Altea> "Yep. I wanted to try real hard on this test, so I asked her to help me study and we'd been doing that a lot up to the test."
[21:51] <Ikiryo> "Right." She nods and puts a piece of paper in front of Altea. "Can you answer these?"
[21:53] * Altea takes the paper and looks it over.
[21:53] * Altea takes her time, but does answer the questions (mostly) correctly. She misses two of them that she had missed on the test.
[21:55] <Ikiryo> Strommons looks over the answers...and blinks a few times. "...huh."
[22:04] <Ikiryo> "That is...excellent work." She doesn't sound like she can believe it.
[22:05] <Altea> "Thanks!"
[22:06] <Ikiryo> "I will inform the other teachers about this. You are free to go Altea." She sounds dazed and like she needs a bit of a sit down.
[22:06] <Altea> "Okay!"
[22:07] * Altea stands up and goes out of the office, remembering to salute before she leaves
[22:07] * Altea then immediately gets her device out and calls her dad.
[22:07] <Ikiryo> She sits down behind her desk, just staring at the paper in front of her.
[22:08] <Ikiryo> He answers not long after. He's smiling warmly. "Hey Kiddo. What's the emergency?"
[22:08] <Altea> "Papa! I got an 81% on my chemistry test!"
[22:08] <Ikiryo> "Are you holding the paper upside down Altea? You know that happens sometimes."
[22:09] <Altea> "No, my Lieutenant actually told me herself! So unless she had it upside down too...um, one sec."
[22:09] <Altea> "No, it's definitely right."
[22:09] <Ikiryo> "And it's your test?"
[22:10] <Altea> "Yep, has my name on it and everything!"
[22:11] <Ikiryo> He smiles brilliantly. "That's wonderful Altea! I wish I was there so I could hug you over it."
[22:11] <Altea> "Me too! Tell mama for me too okay?"
[22:13] <Ikiryo> "I will. She's going to be so proud..." He pauses "I'm going to cash in some of my long service leave and we'll come for a visit soon and celebrate!"
[22:14] <Altea> "Yay! Okay, call me when you know what day so I can make sure my squad is here so you can meet them alright?"
[22:15] <Ikiryo> "I will, I will. We'll all celebrate." He grins "This is wonderful to hear, keep up the great work..."
[22:15] <Altea> "I will!"
[22:17] <Ikiryo> Her device tings and she notices that she's got some extra stipend from her parents now. "And for now, a reward. Go have fun with your friends and celebrate, ok Kiddo?"
[22:18] <Altea> "Okay, thanks papa!"
[22:20] <Ikiryo> "Hugs and Kisses Kiddo!"
[22:20] <Altea> "You too! See you soon!" She terminates the call.
[22:20] <Altea> "Okay, now I wonder where the psychiatric hospital is..."
