- +nationalparksign __ This thread has inspired me to do some more on the video which I'm titling something like "Myths of the ISS" or "Myths of the Astronauts" (I suppose it can be a series of videos). I've got five good clips of the CLAIM being made about them learning Russian. A sample of them speaking in a controlled environment (the "Chris Hadfield" clip) - and then some examples of them "actually speaking Russian for real".
- Here's the thing: even if we are wrong. Even if there's no lie system. Even if there is a real and manned "ISS" - the claims about their language skills is tremendously exaggerated.
- Why would they exaggerate it?
- Since "NASA/ISS" is a "centabillion dollar magic micro/zero-gravity research facility" - and given they claim to go through many years of training - why would their language skills be so rudimentary?
- I am sure the Russians you know understand and can speak English better than "Chris Hadfield" and pals can speak/understand Russian.
- If everything is "on the level" [we're "crazy conspiracy theorists" after all] *HOW CAN THAT BE?*
- How can it be that after years of "astronaut training" they can only (when the pressure is on) mumble out a few words?
- This point about the language skills might be a rather significant one. Have you ever heard of anyone scrutinising it before? (I.e., the "controlled opposition" are not going to go near any genuine criticisms - which is why they don't go near the request for sustained duration qualifying footage and have not gone near the masking glitches [except for one or two flat Earth advocates who then claim it is proof of CGI]).
