  1. S-Link 6 - Twilight (N)
  2.
  3. Canterlot High Library
  4.
  5. Since your last conversation with Twilight, she's made a point to avoid you as much as possible, even when you stop by the library.
  6.
  7. It's understandable with how much pressure she's been under, but it's not a comfortable situation to be in.
  8.
  9. That all ends today.
  10.
  11. Twilight looks surprised as you approach, and the closer you get the tighter she clutches her book to her chest
  12.
  13. It's almost as though she's trying to use it to keep space between the two of you.
  14.
  15. You stop when the counter is the only thing between the two of you, and lock eyes with her.
  16.
  17. Silence reins for a long moment, neither of you making the first move to speak.
  18.
  19. Finally, you have to break it.
  20.
  21. >Option 1 - I've had enough of this.
  22. S-Link +0.2
  23. Twilight: Well that makes two of us, [Player]. I thought I told you to stay away?
  24.
  25. Twilight's expression hardens.
  26.
  27. Twilight: Getting into McGuffin is very important to me, and your being here is distracting me from more important things.
  28.
  29. >Option 2 - Twilight, this isn't helping anyone.
  30. S-Link +1
  31. Twilight frowns and averts her eyes.
  32.
  33. Twilight: That's not true; it's good for me to be studying.
  34.
  35. Twilight: The more I study, the better prepared I'll be. That- that's how things are supposed to work.
  36.
  37. It's hard to tell if she's trying to convince you or herself.
  38.
  39. >Option 3 - So you're still locked away in here.
  40. S-Link +0.6
  41. Twilight: Where else would I be? This is the place that I need to be.
  42.
  43. Waving to the materials spread out in front of her, Twilight gives you a weak smile.
  44.
  45. Twilight: I might have been in here for a while, but I think I'm close to a breakthrough point.
  46.
  47. She pauses, her smile faltering.
  48.
  49. Twilight: Probably.
  50.
  51. When you don't move to leave, Twilight sighs and pushes her things aside.
  52.
  53. Twilight: What is it you want, [Player]? Other than to interrupt me, of course.
  54.
  55. >Option 1 - Isn't it obvious?
  56. S-Link +0.2
  57. Twilight gives you a hard stare.
  58.
  59. Twilight: No. No it really isn't, and it's eating into my study time, so I'd appreciate it if you just told me.
  60.
  61. Because of the awkward atmosphere, explaining the situation takes a little longer than usual.
  62.
  63. Eventually, Twilight nods her head and sighs.
  64.
  65. Twilight: OK, I think I understand now. And while I appreciate the offer, this is a lot of work. I wouldn't want to take up your time with this...
  66.
  67. You insist, and the corner of Twilight's lip curls.
  68.
  69. Twilight: Thank you.
  70.
  71. >Option 2 - I thought I'd help you out with your studies.
  72. S-Link +0.6
  73. The laugh is quick and even catches Twilight off guard.
  74.
  75. She covers her mouth and tries to contain an after-giggle.
  76.
  77. Twilight: Sorry, I don't mean to sound coarse, but this isn't a cram session. It's a rigorous program.
  78.
  79. Twilight leans a palm against her cheek and stares at the materials in front of her.
  80.
  81. Twilight: You're not wrong that some extra eyes might be helpful, but...
  82.
  83. Looking up, she shrugs.
  84.
  85. Twilight: I'm the only one in the entire school who bothered applying in the first place, so can you really blame me for going alone so far?
  86.
  87. >Option 3 - I'm here to help you get you into the McGuffin Program.
  88. S-Link +1
  89. Twilight's lip curls into a gentle smirk as she rolls her eyes.
  90.
  91. Twilight: That's a pretty bold claim there, [Player]; right now I don't even know if it's possible.
  92.
  93. Twilight: If you have such a surefire way of getting in, why don't you?
  94.
  95. You suggest that you just might, and Twilight's amused expression disappears.
  96.
  97. Twilight: Seriously? I-I was joking-
  98.
  99. Following up quickly, you add that you would need a study partner before you even attempted trying.
  100.
  101. Twilight's cheeks color and she gives a light cough.
  102.
  103. Twilight: Well, you know, maybe I'd think about helping you, if you helped me too.
  104.
  105. Twilight stares at you for a long while, her lips pressed into a thin, thoughtful line.
  106.
  107. Twilight: But you really think you would be able to help? I mean, a lot of this is really advanced, even for me.
  108.
  109. You nod your head, refusing to budge from your resolution.
  110.
  111. Finally, she sighs and shakes her head as a genuine smile crosses her face.
  112.
  113. Twilight: I guess we could give it a shot for the afternoon. If nothing else, you can help me by handling my flash cards.
  114.
  115. Looking over her shoulder, she nods towards another chair.
  116.
  117. Twilight: Go ahead and sit beside me, the sooner we get started, the sooner we find out if this is going to work or not.
  118.
  119. You do exactly as you're told and spend the rest of your time in the Library helping Twilight study.
