- I got some feedback from Reddit user u/nero12345543210 and he brought up an important point. The dice roll has the potential to get exploited. With the right cards you can draw loot cards and buy shop items until you bought every item in the shop. Those cards are:
- - Godhead
- - Spoon Bender
- - The D6
- - The Bone
- - Book of Belial
- - Lucky Foot
- - Sacred Heart
- - Meat! (to an extend) and
- - Synthoil
- To counter act these cards you could do one of those things:
- 1. Limit the game length to 10-20 turns. This way you can exploit the system, but you can't do it infinitely.
- (This was the original idea from u/nero12345543210.)
- 2. Switch the meaning of the outcomes:
- 1-3 You MAY attack a monster/boss
- 4-6 You HAVE to attack a monster/boss
- This reduces the amount of cards which could change the dice roll (Godhead, Book of Belial and Mini Mush).
- 3. Declare the dice roll to a 'non-attack' roll. This dice roll is by definition not an 'attack' roll, because this roll doesn't deal damage to a monster. It only decides if you have to attack a monster or not.
- This makes Meat! and Synthoil unable to change the dice roll.
- 4. Put a counter on the card which rerolled the dice roll. Once the counter reaches 5 the card is unable to change the dice roll. The counter can be reduced by
- - killing a monster/boss card. Random events like Devil deals or curses can reduce the counter too.
- - taking damage from any source.
- This one is a weak solution, but I wanted to bring it up anyways.
