  1. [8:30 PM] Leafia_Barrett: I had a thought
  2. [8:31 PM] Leafia_Barrett: there's more to sexual desire than just being horny - there are a lot of various emotions going on there
  3. [8:31 PM] Leafia_Barrett: as old as she is, Rilicia would be incredibly good at reading people
  4. [8:32 PM] Leafia_Barrett: not just from a lust standpoint, but overall
  5. [8:32 PM] Leafia_Barrett: honing her senses enough has made her borderline empathic
  6. [8:33 PM] Leafia_Barrett: bound to happen after 4000 years of practice
  7. [8:33 PM] Leafia_Barrett: she can tell when something's bothering someone
  8. [8:34 PM] Leafia_Barrett: she just... really doesn't know how to help them
  9. [8:34 PM] Leafia_Barrett: the few times she brings it up directly, she's very blunt about it, largely a factor of being cut off from all sapient contact for so long
  10. [8:34 PM] Leafia_Barrett: sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't
  11. [8:35 PM] Leafia_Barrett: the Brimstone Elemental would be one of the moments where it works, I think
  12. [8:36 PM] Leafia_Barrett: assuming we can agree on what an elemental is - I'll post my thoughts... um... should I put them under the Brimstone Elemental section or on a separate page?
  13. [8:39 PM] Leafia_Barrett: summary: without something binding them together, souls will inevitably disperse, either slowly or quickly, back into the base ether that composes them
  14. [8:39 PM] Leafia_Barrett: the most common binding is a physical body
  15. [8:39 PM] Leafia_Barrett: occasionally you have spells that bind a soul, as was the case with Lilac and Red
  16. [8:40 PM] Leafia_Barrett: an elemental is what happens when a wayward soul assembles its own body as a binding
  17. [8:40 PM] Leafia_Barrett: sometimes the souls are from sapient creatures
  18. [8:41 PM] Leafia_Barrett: sometimes not so much
  19. [8:41 PM] Leafia_Barrett: sometimes they're just a clump of stray bits of soul that happened to get tangled together in one spot
  20. [8:42 PM] Leafia_Barrett: this also is a small theory about souls and their environment, specifically souls that form in hell(edited)
  21. [8:43 PM] Leafia_Barrett: any soul that comes into existence in hell is saddled with the same vulnerabilities to specific vices that souls sold to hell are
  22. [8:44 PM] Leafia_Barrett: but without a patron sin to shape them, it's kind of a crapshoot what those end up being, so you end up with hybrids of sins
  23. [8:45 PM] Leafia_Barrett: sometimes, the combinations compliment each other
  24. [8:45 PM] Leafia_Barrett: lust and wrath, gluttony/greed/envy
  25. [8:45 PM] Leafia_Barrett: sloth/gluttony
  26. [8:46 PM] Leafia_Barrett: sometimes not so much
  27. [8:46 PM] Leafia_Barrett: sloth/wrath being probably the combination most prone to self-defeat
  28. [8:49 PM] Leafia_Barrett: the brimstone elemental was of the third kind, a soul without a source that was just unfortunate enough to form in hell
  29. [8:50 PM] Leafia_Barrett: primarily saddled with lust, with attributes of wrath and a couple stray gluttony tendencies
  30. [8:51 PM] Leafia_Barrett: elementals start off very frail for the first few years of their life as they form their body; even a small disruption to the incomplete shell can undo the entire process
  31. [8:53 PM] Leafia_Barrett: the longer an elemental lives, the tougher they get, as they continue to gather material; eventually, they can even form actual physical bodies, rather than simply clumps of matter held together in a specific shape
  32. [8:54 PM] Leafia_Barrett: just going by how much tougher the brimstone elemental is than the cloud and sand elementals HP-wise, on top of having a shield form that can almost entirely block damage, she's definitely an elder elemental
  33. [8:56 PM] Leafia_Barrett: Rilicia was there when the brimstone elemental was born
  34. [8:57 PM] Leafia_Barrett: even back before her imprisonment in null, Rilicia always thought it to be a rather cruel fate that souls that form in hell are punished for sins they never committed and saddled with weaknesses that were never theirs(edited)
  35. [9:00 PM] Leafia_Barrett: Wrath likes the setting of hell just fine, Greed demons probably tend to find ways to gather the wealth and/or power they seek [seriously, the stuff in those shadow chests is kinda potent]
  36. [9:00 PM] Leafia_Barrett: Gluttony and Envy are never content and want Hell and the surface
  37. [9:01 PM] Leafia_Barrett: Pride... is a mixed bag depending entirely on circumstances, as shown by Rdualir
  38. [9:01 PM] Leafia_Barrett: Sloth is Sloth, they won't do anything if it requires more effort than what they're currently doing
  39. [9:02 PM] Leafia_Barrett: Lust just wants out
  40. [9:02 PM] Leafia_Barrett: life for a lust demon must be kinda more awful than normal, when you think about it
  41. [9:03 PM] Leafia_Barrett: they rely on other demons simply to stay healthy, yet any given demon could decide to stab them in the back for any number of reasons
  42. [9:03 PM] Leafia_Barrett: this is true for the other demons, but the others don't physically need to be in such a vulnerable position to survive
  43. [9:06 PM] Leafia_Barrett: so Rilicia basically says "you never deserved to end up in hell anyways - stay up here, maybe you'll be able to have a life here without constantly looking over your shoulder"
  44. [9:06 PM] Leafia_Barrett: I worded that better in my head
  45. [9:06 PM] Leafia_Barrett: but I'm running on empty
