Situation préoccupante dans la zone de santé de Panzi, province du Kwango

Depuis le 24 octobre 2024, une maladie d'origine encore inconnue sévit dans la province du Kwango, précisément dans la zone de santé de Panzi. À ce jour, cette maladie a causé le décès de 79 personnes, dont une majorité d'enfants âgés de plus de 15 ans, et a affecté 376 personnes.

Les symptômes rapportés chez les patients incluent:

	- La fièvre,
	- Les maux de tête,
	- L'écoulement nasal et la toux,
	- La difficulté respiratoire,
	- L'anémie.

Le Ministère de la Santé Publique, Hygiène et Prévoyance Sociale exprime sa profonde compassion aux familles touchées par cette tragédie et leur adresse ses condoléances les plus sincères.

Afin d'apporter une réponse rapide et efficace à cette situation préoccupante, le Ministère, à travers l'Institut National de Santé Publique (INSP) et le Centre des Opérations d'Urgences de Santé Publique (COUSP), a dépêché une équipe d'intervention rapide dans la zone affectée, Cette équipe a pour mission de:

	1. Assurer une prise en charge immédiate des cas signalés,
	2. Réaliser des prélèvements d'échantillons auprès des patients pour analyses en laboratoire,
	3. Conduire des investigations approfondies sur le terrain afin d'identifier la nature de cette maladie.

Les résultats des analyses de laboratoire seront communiqués dès qu'ils seront disponibles, et des mises à jour régulières seront partagées avec la population et les partenaires.

En attendant les conclusions des investigations en cours, le Ministère appelle la population au calme, à la vigilance, et au strict respect des mesures préventives suivantes:

	1. Eviter les rassemblements de masse,
	2. Signaler tout cas suspect ou tout décès inhabituel aux autorités sanitaires locales,
	3. Observer les règles d'hygiène de base, notamment le lavage régulier des mains avec de l'eau et du savon,
	4. Ne pas manipuler les dépouilles sans l'intervention des agents de santé habilités.

Le Ministère de la Santé Publique, Hygiène et Prévoyance Sociale réaffirme son engagement à protéger la population et à travailler en étroite collaboration avec ses partenaires nationaux et internationaux pour apporter une réponse rapide et efficace à cette crise sanitaire.

Worrying situation in the Panzi health zone, Kwango province

Since October 24, 2024, a disease of as yet unknown origin has been raging in Kwango province, specifically in the Panzi health zone. To date, the disease has caused the death of 79 people, the majority of them children aged over 15, and has affected 376 people.

Symptoms reported in patients include:

	- Fever,
	- Headache,
	- Runny nose and cough,
	- difficulty breathing,
	- anemia.

The Ministry of Public Health, Hygiene and Social Welfare expresses its deepest sympathy and condolences to the families affected by this tragedy.

In order to provide a rapid and effective response to this worrying situation, the Ministry, through the Institut National de Santé Publique (INSP) and the Centre des Opérations d'Urgences de Santé Publique (COUSP), has dispatched a rapid intervention team to the affected area. The team's mission is to:

	1. Ensure immediate management of reported cases,
	2. Take samples from patients for laboratory patients for laboratory analysis,
	3. Conduct in-depth field investigations to identify the nature of the disease.

Laboratory results will be communicated as soon as they become available, and regular updates will be shared with the public and partners.
