Genetic View

From the genetic worldview, what matters is if genes "choose" to care about environmental factors. So it is a dance of selective pressures and genetic influences which affect what environments are selected, modified, or responded to. Even a totally controlled environment, like some communist society which can completely control the information you receive would still have political differences because these values we call Left and Right are deeper than the "size of government" but reflect different ways of analyzing society and morality. Ie people would react to the same environment differently and have different outcomes and conclusions from this. And whichever produces the most reproductive success in this environment will be selected for.

For example, the "gay gene" (it is likely more than one) could exist if in women it provides so much utility and ability to have babies that it ending up 'switched on' in men isnt a big enough deal to wipe it out.
